That is even more bloated and ram hungry than Nova. Pointless.
It keeps a history of recently used items on top, so you have to search only for stuff you don't use often. It also uses an algorithm to determine how to arrange the history.
The search bar can also be used to search for contacts and search the web, all in one, and immediately call or send a message. I almost never open the contacts application directly.
It may be less orthodox, but after trying it out, I found that I liked it much more than "conventional" launchers.
Give it a try, you might be surprised.

You don't have to. You can tap the left end of the search bar to bring up an alphabetical list of all of your apps.

i used next launcher. it was smooth and had a ridiculous amount of customization. however, the app is long dead and when downloading the apk it glitches on android 7+. i still didn't find a proper replacement so I'm sticking with the default launcher
