Gayming products are a scam

>buy corsair k70 with cherry switches
>appears in device manager as 3 different keyboards, steam crashes with flight stick plugged in, have to disable 2 "virtual" keyboards to run Steam
>dies in warranty
>buy HyperX keyboard with cherry switches
>Suspiciously similar to K70, and does exactly the same shit with steam. Probably a K70 clone made in the same factory.
>Runs fine for 6 months, suddenly starts chattering when backlight is on. Electric noise from the lightning circuit somehow appears as key strokes. Have to turn off backlight permanently.
Don't be me. Any gayming product is overpriced chink shit with color LEDs. Avoid unless gifted or stolen.

I've been using a K70 RGB for 4 years without issue.

If you're using USB 3.0 you only plug one of the USB cables in, that may have been causing some of your issues.

I've not had or seen any of the issues you describe though.

It is shit because of the non-standard bottom row for keycaps though, makes buying extra keycaps nearly impossible unless you just want to buy the standard corsair ones.

Mine was the older non-RGB model with Cherry switches, so I can use other caps.
Will try plugging the other cable, theoretically it is only USB passthrough.
I just want a normal keyboard with backlight. I don't need a frankestein of 3 keyboards in one polling at 1000 mHz. I just need a fucken keyboard with LEDs.
Apparently such a thing is non-existent in the market, normal membrane keyboards and custom-made mechanical keyboards all come without backlight, so if you want both the only option is to buy gayming crap.

Nice LARP faggot. Have your (You).

its your fault for spending hundreds on a keyboard. i bought a mechanical hyper x gayming keyboard for like 50 bux 6 years ago with red led lights and its still going strong

>with Cherry switches, so I can use other caps.
It's nothing to do with the switches, the RGB uses cherry switches as well

It's the bottom row layout.

The size of the keys is non-standard, making a full keycap replacement a pain in the ass, since the bottom row wont fit right unless you get something custom, or specifically built for the corsair bottom row layout.

Yeah, I had to leave the original space bar and some other keys near it. But both corsair and HyperX keys are black, so there is little difference.

That is probably mine, the alloy elite with orange-ish leds. Costed me 130€. You got a steal.

I wish I was LARPing. In the last years I've wasted in total 310 bucks in gayming keyboards and all turned defective.
There is a lot of people complaining of the same issues. Manufacturers just sell the same shit and never ever fix their designs. The newer models with RGB LEDs are essentially the same as the older models and are plaged by the same issues.

>read reviews
>z-key clips are weak, break with use
>worse than previous model from 5 years ago
>3 key rollover limit
WTF logitech

its nice and comfy, but it isnt some industrial design rated for 100 million plus keystrokes, its not bad if you moderate typer but if you are some data entry pajeet then I guess look elsewhere

probably not. its not a real fancy ones. just has mechanical keys and a few red lit keys. when it dies im just going to get the cheapest (like red dragon or something) mechanical gayming one with a volume wheel. i really feel like i need that.

We've reached a point in computing where high end hardware is plagued with pajeet's ability to code.

K95 for 4 years no issues not even a single LED has gone out. My m65 PRO mouse did get an issue with the scroll wheel but I got 3+ years of use out of it. Sometimes you get factory defects it happens that's why you get a limited warranty with any new hardware purchase.

>volume wheel
Good luck with that. Afaik only Corsair and HyperX have that, and I suspect they are manufactured by the same chink factory.

>buy HyperX keyboard that doesn't need any botnet software to work
>backlight is only red and entirely controlled with a combination of keys
>it just werks

I have k70 Lux RGB for like a year and I love it, works well, lol. At first it bugged a caps lock/scroll lock lights, but it doesn't anymore for a long time

ikbc has one

I'm currently typing on the exact keyboard as is with the "low profile" keycaps using Cherry Red switches. No issues at all. I even have my Corsair mouse plugged into the USB port on the keyboard. No issues with what you're describing.

I will say that Corsair iCUE is a bit though. It uses openGL and causes some insane cursor lag. i only use it to turn off all my RGB.

logitech has a few

Meanwhile this baby is still serving me with no issues except the backlight leds have DIED OF AGE.

get roccat or GKKM

>bought a filco majestouch ninja tkl in 2012
>still using it despite hitting it in gaymer rage and spilling all kinds of drinks into it which needed cleaning off the pcb

i bought a corsair and hyperx keyboard to try different switches, razor too and they all stink

How strange. My K70 does appear as multiple keyboards in order to do NKRO, but doesn't have any of the issues you mention. Haven't seen anything other than some crappy BIOS setups that have a problem with this, and there's a little switch on the back to disable the shenanigans if needed.

Most modern keyboards are trash. Why would you even want LEDs? Learn to touch type.

Buy a $20 OEM keyboard, or find one on the side of the road.

>appears in device manager as 3 different keyboards
Why does this shit happen? My logitech g402 mouse also appears twice but I could never figure out why.

If you want to drop a ridiculous amount of money on quality some dude is doing a limited manufacturing of IBM model F replicas. As I understand it buckling spring keys are not available anywhere besides Unicomp Model M offerings which are not of the same quality as the model F (which do not include rubber). Orders are available up through the end of this month, but 350 USD for a keyboard is absurd. Not trying to shill just thought the prospect of a return to buckling spring switches would be interesting.

>buy simple 5-10 euro keyboard
>works perfect
>use it for years
>i literally only have to replace these keyboards when I end up spilling some coffee or something on them
>even then they end up working again given enough time on the shelf so I've only had to buy 2 in my life
>good at vidya
there's literally no excuse to buy an overpriced keyboard unless you're really well off. they're overpriced, offer very little compared to a normal cheap keyboard, they won't make you better at games and they'll break way easier
