Move to the bay area. You'll automatically acquire a hiking hobby just like all the other drones here.

geocaching is fun, but minimal technology

OP probably doesn't want to get shot.

Drone photography could be cool

>be a guy that takes pictures of celebrities and sell them to magazines
>go to rich coastal areas with submersible/long-range drones equipped with telescopic lenses
>fly them out to sea low to the ocean
>point the camera toward the houses on the water
>zoom in
>watch rich people do whatever
>snag pics
>illegal but the magazines will take it anyway

this is my hobby

Playing Pokemon Go.

Turns out dodging bullets is good exercise

Photography. You get to take pictures of nature and events and even make money out of it. You even get to take (nude) pictures of artsy thots for their blogs and Instagram pages if you're not a complete autist.

You also have a decent excuse to make expensive upgrades for your computer.

Top bad I can't see colors properly. I would've done this in a heartbeat.

do you think those people are able to ever find something valuable?

browsing Jow Forums with smartphone

Yes, in Europe they can.
I have a friend who finds a lot of WW2 stuff doing this. It's pretty cool, digging out old stuff in the woods like ammo or helmets

One guy only had just gotten into the hobby in England.
He found a cache of Roman coins worth several hundred thousand pounds not 20 paces from where he parked his car. It was also his first go at it that day. Had just bought the equipment, drove to a site, turned on the machine and there we go.
Needless to say there would've been many a salty veteran of the hobby seething that day after decades of finding fucking nothing.

Wildlife Field Recording

public upskirting

Fucking around with multicopters or rc is pretty sweet. Nice intersection between software and hardware if you want.

Fuck detectorists, scum of the Earth as far as I can tell and do so much harm to our record of history it's bananas.

Remote sensing

Haha imagine putting a gps on a landmine haha wouldnt that be terrible?

Most people just put feces in the geocache and call it a day.

why do you say that?

They take really really old shit and don't tell anyone where they found it and mistreat the hell out of it ruining the historical usefulness of the items.
