I use it for work

i use mine to compose music, 3d sculpt, CAD model, draw, program, and write. i wish there were better DAWs though in terms of UI. ableton's is nice but it doesn't have the features of a proper DAW.

my home computer is used for shitposting, and my work computer is used for work

what features are you looking for? i've been using Ableton since 7 and there's nothing i've struggled with I can't do with Ableton/Max?

I whish there were better support on linux.
I have to use mac fucking os only for music production

mostly composing based stuff, being able to manipulate things in the piano roll in terms of chord types and such, a chord track where i could name each one for a progression, stuff like that. it's a big tough to try and write a track without really gauging how things will sound without a template, though i could use even markers if they can be labelled as such. there's also stuff like more complex metronome beats, and folding the piano roll for concise drum editing. basically more advanced arrangement stuff. i'm currently using studio one to supplement this but the ui isn't to my liking. it has a nice pattern editor though.

KEK

What do you mean? The wojaks?

is masturbating on /gif/ productive?

wow. me too

I port software and libs to a specific platform as hobby.
I get know many developers while upstreaming my changes, learn about programming, different languages and build systems.
Does this count as productive work or as hobby? I don’t play games.

Honestly, for composition i'd personally look into Logic in that case, I know it means owning a mac but everything you have mentioned is in Logic quite easily..

Yes

I'm not a programmer but I use my PC to get in contact with customers, sell stuff on eBay, download schematics and service manuals, order spare parts, write and print documents, make spreadsheets, etc.

Yes
They are endless.

Have 3 pc's, a home desktop with Kubuntu to use in web development stuff and gayming.
A laptop with windows for muh Adobe and proprietary software ™.
And a old laptop for emulation with batocera.linux.

I make a living off online poker and sports betting. For poker I need a powerful computer to run Nash equilibrium calculations and my sports betting model is programmed in R

I run some websites, which theoretically should bring in some income soon. But it currently costs me more than it brings in. So it's more of a hobby.

android tablet for streaming, icecat and shitposting on the go
laptop with tails and guix
main battlestation 1080 ti has dualbooted guix, arch and wangblows
considering buying a librebooted thinkpad t400

Both, computers are really cool and they let me try out lots of different hobbies, study lots of different subjects, engage in multiple artforms, and make money at the same time. Thank you, computers. :)
