There are people on this board RIGHT NOW who think SSDs are a meme

An SSD is literally the most cost-effective computer upgrade you can buy.
>b-b-b-but i never reboot my computer!!!
>why do you need fast startups for???
Having a beefy CPU and maxed out RAM slots doesn't mean shit when your spinning rust drive is still being thrashed every time you do anything.

Here have this cute picture

is incest a meme?

Why is this legal?

>you fell for it
really makes you think

They are. I just bought a NEW thinkpad and had them put a 1TB HDD in it. Call me a boomer but I'll never use a SSD over a HDD. Or atleast I won't until (((they))) make me

What are they watching?
She seems very absorbed by it.

Unironically based. I had an old as fuck laptop (AMD E-350 or some shit), got a cheap $25 WD Green 120GB SSD and a fresh install of Windows 10 LTSB, and now it's snappy as fuck. I can believe a $25 upgrade can impact performance so much.

*vomits*

HHNNNGG HOLY SHIT

Y tho?

it only makes sense for up to 1TB in the 1st world, and 500GB in the 3rd. Prices are still too high.

SIRS PLEASE

what about the limited number of writes? are there too many of them for it to matter anymore?

they're really only worth it for laptops desu, or if you don't give a shit about space and just need an 8GB partition to boot your Linux box from.

I can get a 2 TB 2.5: HDD for a cheaper price ($110 CAN) than a 250 GB 2.5" SSD... And both are definitely cheaper than the lowest capacity of M.2 SSDs. SO no; SSD upgrades aren't the most cost-effective.

this is, and I mean this literally, THE BEST thing I have ever seen.

Why would I trade my perfectly fast hdd for something with limited writes

>windows
>not a thinkpad
gtfo with that shit

>limited writes
I use a 64GB SSD for over a decade now, still didn't run out of writes.
It's one of the "unreliable" first-gen ones, too.

I agree with this but I wasn't brave enough to say anything.

not enough pocket money

no need to be mean :(

you can pick one up for like $20

I try so fucking hard to be normal and then I have to deal with shit like this

i have an x220 for uni work (for the past 2 years).

the quality is barely above a consumer unit. The top of the screen flexes, the palm rest is cracked because of the card slot under it, and that stupid coating looks like shit worn off on all the edges.

thankfully I have no need of a laptop beyond typing up assignments because they are all disappointing as fuck.

You don't need to be a normal person user, you just need to be you!

just accept your love of little girls user

once you realise that most men think like this, you can accept yourself as normal

Did she died

How can you be this dense

no

Depends on the cell write level.
Single cell can stand up to 100,000 read/write cycles, however is much more expensive than dual or quad cell write.

Well, shit. Fuck me.

The A-HOLE who made this kid wear this needs to go to jail.

>this kid
I choose to believe that this person is an adult and just has baby face; that they know how to do their hair and makeup in away that makes them look questionably young.

I need to believe this.

>muh overprotection is good
>muh kids aren't sexual
Kys.

that's an adult cosplayer named mingmihoo

If you guys unironically think hard drive head travel does not affect performance you must also agree that cpu cache isn't faster even though it's physically closer to the cpu registers. The absolute state of Jow Forums

>tfw have swap on ssd
feels good man so faster

>An SSD is literally the most cost-effective computer upgrade you can buy.
yea, if your upgrading pleb shit with a budget bottom of the barrel hdd like cheap laptops had.
Got a netbook with about 10 mbps read/write.

Good luck upgrading anything with real storage capacity though.

yes, in a century

Hurts to know that there are people that can actually pull it off tranny?

BASED

I'll take capacity over speed any day, but I'll take both if I can swing it. 1tb ssds exist

its a korean not a kid dumbo

If a computer gives you a result right away, it probably fucked up and skipped something. If it takes five minutes, you know it's done right.

This looks like Exhibit A in someone's trial.
