mfw i3 is the fasest gaming CPU on the market right now since you'd only need to buy it a few times before getting one that can do 5.3Ghz. only exception is a few modern titles such as tomb raider that use more than 4 cores

mfw no amount of incel shills will stop ryzen winning market share in 2 weeks

i3s have reverse binning; your memory controller is always garbage and your cores are never as good as a binned i5 or i7.
If you want proof, look at ambient temp OC data. Nobody ever uses them.

but i3 has 4 cores so are you saying it's the i5 hex dies that then get 2 cores disabled if they have bad binning?

i3 is a window manager

Silicon Lottery has no 5.3 Ghz in their stats for 8350K. 14% can reach 5.2 Ghz.

Who dis bitch?

i3 is a car not a cpu, n00b

5.3 GHz on all cores, you get like 21.2 GHz of processing power!

you got the nvidia version?

too bad most software is 1 cow and not one cow split into 4 or 8

I do

In 2019 most software that is demanding is multi-threaded. This includes gaymes too.

True. 8350K a beast.

phew, didn't realize it was that old

Enjoy your stutters.

benchmarks dont mean shit, look at ryzen 5 and intel i5
same price chips
ryzen gets DOUBLE the benchmark score of the intel, but in reality it's actually much worse than the intel in performance

We're certainly getting there. A while ago it might be 90/10/0/0... thread usage
Now we might be looking at 95/65/40/40/25/10... as a hypothetical example, not entirely accurate.
Expect it to only get better now that Intel has given up on dual cores, and 8 threads is beginning to become the average. We shouldn't get hung up on legacy software that doesn't bother to get with the times, as soon increasing core count and die size will be the only viable way to increase performance (frequency gains haven't been possible for quite a while, and IPC gains are increasingly based on architecture improvements and coding rather than just physical density).

Same price chips would be comparing a 9400 against a 2600X, which should perform very similarly when limited to 6 threads. Below that AMD comes so low in price with the 14nm APUs that the performance difference really isn't what matters. Above that, I'll concede that Intel wins in per-thread but it isn't by as much as it was with Ryzen 1000.
