they're cheap depending on where you are
america its cheap
Europe its expensive
still a quality laptop at the end of the day

>laptop made with good build quality and qc is more expensive than consumer/gaymer laptops
Gee I wonder why

Because fuck your mother, shill.

The 701C keyboard is cool as fuck. Why don't we have anything like this today? Laptop keyboards could actually be usable this way.

Somewhat related, would anyone have a recommendation on a cheap($150 or less) small laptop for general terminal use? It will just have CentOS for practicing scripting and preparing for various certifications. My first thought was a refurbished hp mini laptop or something.

They are like 100 bucks, or less, on ebay.

How much do they go for in EU?

I paid 90 euros for my t430

More moving parts means more likelihood of manufacturing defects.

I ordered a librebooted x200 yesterday for 200 buckaroos
Kiss my ass im european everything is expensive here

x220, you can even run some VMs on it, not too many but for lab work its good enough.

because you have to place your hand in just the right way to open the fucking thing. also why would you want to do any work/business from a game boy sized screen

I paid £20 for my as new X220 this year...bought in a store in London...
Got a X31 and X61 for free in a cupboard at work...good shit isnt usually cheap but it can be if you look hard enough...

>How much do they go for in EU?
This varies a lot but up north xx40 stuff is generally around 250€-300€, xx30 stuff is 150€-200€, xx20 is 80€-150€, xx10 is 60-80€.
Older ones then go anywhere from 20-120€

>100 bucks or less on ebay
yeah for the shitty ones or ones with missing hardware. for that I could easily get a refurbished workstation from a reputable site with better specs and free shipping

stores still sell thinkpads?

no HDD no RAM but doesnt even look like it has been touched!..great score...
