I wouldn't call it basics of tech. The term "technology" is very general. It just somehow turns out that this board's definition of technology is mostly Linux related stuff and programming. When I first visited Jow Forums I sure as hell wasn't expecting that.

Cinnamon is nice for people, who want a Windows-like DE, but it suffers some of the same problems as GNOME (e.g. easily breaking extensions or heavy resource usage) and they finally need to start testing big updates more extensively before releasing them. It's also weird how often the change the layout of menus.
That being said, Nemo is infinitely better than Nautilus.
