I stole the quote of "FINALLY!! 1x32gb ! Flawless!!" from a review on amazon.com because I wanted to emphasize my excitement for this and gain interest hopefully. The reason I'm most excited about this is because we can have small machines -- with 1 changeable SO-DIMM RAM card -- and still have 32GB of RAM. Not 16GB of RAM. But 32GB of RAM. There's a lot of things I want to do that require this; and I always wanted to have that RAM capacity in a small, relatively-affordable form-factor, and on 1 SO-DIMM chip. I've been waiting for this for like 10 years. And now I have it. Hopefully 64GB comes out soon -- by some miracle -- or at least in only 1~2 years this time. This also means that this is 8x this amount of basically the maximum capacity of RAM on 32-bit operating systems -- 4GB; 8x more than 32-bit operating systems need; On 1 SO-DIMM RAM chip; Amazing. Unfortunately -- unlike 16GB SO-DIMM RAM cards -- this 32GB SO-DIMM RAM card doesn't seem to come in DDR3 RAM capacity's; So I'll probably have to upgrade to something with DDR4 RAM soon. Someone told me "Just wait for DDR5" before. But no! FINALLY!! So. Anyway. I'm excited about 1x32GB SO-DIMM RAM. I hope 1x32GB SO-DIMM RAM DDR3 comes out soon. I hope SO-DIMM RAM DDR5 comes out soon. And. I hope 1x64GB SO-DIMM RAM comes out soon.
Too long; didn't read: FINALLY!! 1x32gb ! Flawless!! (1x32GB SO-DIMM RAM!!). -- I hope you enjoy it.
my other ram is soldered to the mother board with 2 gb REEEEEEEE

how come?

that's why they shouldn't do that. exactly.

Multi channeling and RAM refresh rates. Modern CPUs can read from multiple ram sticks at the same time. Sticking one 32gb stick will clog the system bus.

Oh. Well. That's. A decent explanation. Wasn't expecting that. Fair enough. I understand. I'd still prefer to have one larger capacity; So I don't need as many. But. I understand. Thank you.
This seems to support the idea that having more RAM cards is consistently better than fewer RAM cards. But. Still. The higher capacity -- in this case 16GB and 8GB -- seem to do better. Of course DIMM and SO-DIMM are different. But. Just showing what's performing best on there.

What the fuck are you talking about, for the same capacity and timings, multiple > single.
I still want to use just one. I don't care that it takes 1 nanosecond longer to read and write. One is just more practical and lets me build it smaller.

guys, can one of you test it with thinkpad x270? (or similar model)
I'd kill for 32gb of ram

i've got 32gb in pic related, but on 2x16 sticks
ngl it's pretty fuckin nice and was a relatively affordable upgrade (chinkshit RAM from amazon, cost me like $150 total) but honestly i don't do anything that requires/would come anywhere close to utilizing all of it
