Zen 2

Pre-order up when?
What's your current CPU?
What's your Zen 2 of choice?
For me, it's the 3700X. Coming from a 1600.

Attached: l4aj48s8x2x11.jpg (2241x1389, 785K)

Never preoder anything, ever. Let the idiots pay idiot tax.

>preorder before user benchmarks are available

Not gonna make it.

Don't preorder
1600
3600

Upgrading to a 3700x or better, coming from a 2500K.

Gonna make the voyage to microcenter when the time comes to grab a mobo as well.

i5 3570k.
3600.
Not buying anything until I see post-release benchmarks and reviews.

>What's your current CPU?
FX-8350
>What's your Zen 2 of choice?
None, perhaps Zen 3 but who knows. Maybe intel will manage to make some progress by then so I'm not going to play favorites - I'll choose whatever will work best for me.
At this point I do not feel any need for upgrade at this point, and upgrading for the sake of upgrading is retarded.
>For me, it's the 3700X. Coming from a 1600.
Good for ya if you actually need it.

5930k.
Don't feel the need to migrate right now.

my current build plan is

3950X
gigabyte xtreme
noctua cooler and case fans
seasonic 1000W titanium power supply
optane pcie ssd

ram unknown
video card unknown
case also unknown, maybe fractal meshify s2 or thermaltake core x5 or maybe an enterprise workstation case maybe a rack

i7 4790, moving to a new motherboard
3600X

This

>no preorder
>6600k
>3900x

Don't preorder.
In the same boat OP
Happy with my 1600 @ 3.9ghz but looking at the 3700x/3800'

>2600X, hopefully 3900X
I really need more threads. I'm happy to preorder, unlike all you "wait for benchmarks" gamer fags I mainly just want it for -j24 and the blender benchmark AMD did is more relevant to the other stuff I want to do than your gamer benchmarks.

This but 3600X

buy the 2ng gen now before it leaks out that its better at gaming than 3rd gen. you heard it here first folks

4670k. I wanted the 3800x but the price is too high. Guess I'm going with 3700x or maybe even Intel if they slash the price even more

I'm waiting it out another year or so with my 6600k. Don't really see a negative impact in anything that I personally do.

>gigabyte anything
kek

what other new motherboard has a passive cooled chipset, I'd look at that also

4670K

Still undecided whether I should get a 3700x, 3800x or 3900x. Waiting for benchmarks.

>No
>3570K
>3900X
Will be going ASRock mITX X570 with full bandwidth thunderbolt so I can have the computer in the closet.

Attached: Speccy.png (492x285, 15K)

I'm waiting until this fall, probably. I get a lot of stutters in some games that only run between 75-90 FPS on the 6600k and I bet cyberpunk will be a pain in the fucking ass to run. Right now the 6600k is bottlenecking my 1080ti at 1440p 144hz. I also plan on getting the 3080/to eventually.

That's a pretty based plan if I say so myself.

>dumb brand whores
kek

If it actually does match the leaked benchmarks I will probably get a 3600 or 3700x.

I want to see how these chips go on a B350 board first.

4690K, already chokes like crazy on video and sound editing programs.
Already dead set on the 3900X, would only reconsider if a disaster happens before July 7 otherwise I'm preordering. Only concerned about the X570 and PCIe 4 SSD prices so I hope the speeds will be worth it 5 years from now despite PCIe 5 and 6 coming along, though even then it's doubtful programs will be demanding enough for their speeds in a couple of years.

r3 1200
going to wait until r5 3600 drops 50 dollars then I will pick one up

Idiot here willing to pay the idiot tax. I currently have an an R7-1700X and will be waiting until day one of the R9-3950X in September. Also waiting for news on the rumored X590 chipset and what it will bring. Gonna get the Asus Crosshair X570/590 to match. I really want to see what the 3959X can do under air cooling. 16c32t at 105w tdp is impressive..

Won't pre-order.
1700
3950
Will wait until December for some holiday deals and build myself a new rig as a bday gift to myself. Will turn my old 1700 system into a homelab machine.

i7-4790k
3700X but waiting for benchmarks and also hesitant because muh Intel optimization

Just get some PCIe 3.0 SSD's on sale. Guaranteed you're not using the speed anyway.
>Video editing programs
I used to own the 4690k myself but was saved by my 980Ti when it came to video editing that supported CUDA acceleration.
>B350
Good luck. B450 sure, but there are very few 350 series boards with full Ryzen 3xxx support.

Probably gonna go with 3700x from i7-920.
Is 32gigs of 3000mhz cl15 ram adequate these days?

Mildly hyped but I doubt it will last as long as this i7 did, especially with the SFX format I had planned.

Attached: sweet shalquoir.gif (390x219, 1.98M)

AMD themselves recommend either CL17 3733MHz RAM, or CL16 3600MHz RAM. Both CL14 3200MHz and CL16 3600MHz have the same latency in nanoseconds in regards to AMD infinity fabric. They're both only a single nanosecond slower than CL17 3733MHz. Don't go any higher than 3733MHz though as the Infinity Fabric will leave 1:1 mode and go to 2:1 mode.

And why wouldn't it last as long? The 3700X is far superior in CPU instructions, uses far less power for more cores, threads. Most of the mITX boards I've seen, both X470/570 and B450 choosers seem more than robust enough to push a 65w tdp chip easily.

I have a 2700x, considering getting a 3800x or 3900x. I'm not sure yet. 8c/16t should last me quite a while but I know the consoles coming up are going to be optimized for that. I want to be able to game and have threads/cores leftover.

Never preorder shit.

No
Core2Duo 8400
Maybe when they announce 3200g or something.

What do you browse the web with? Lynx?

guys is my 1800x enough in terms of cores and threads

2600k
Probably going to get a used 8700k off some retard falling for the amd meme.

3000mhz ram will likely give latency issues with Ryzen2.

12 cores is the bare minimum you NEED in 2019, 16 is enough to last until 2020

You can squeeze by with 4c/8t until about 2021. Around then I'd upgrade to 8c/16t and hold on that until about 2024/2025.

>Pre-order up when?
Never I'm gonna get a top of the line 38xx+ cheap used in a couple of years when my 2700x can't handle 240hz 4k screens
>What's your current CPU?
4ghz stock all core as above
>What's your Zen 2 of choice?
As higher end as possible that works in a x470 k4 so hopefully the 12/16c 5ghz boi
>For me, it's the 3700X. Coming from a 1600.
Nice I went from 1600x to mine
It's a big jump I found that 1600x was a good CPU definitely shat over me mates 77k oc at the time

I have a 1700. Probably planning on a 3800X. I haven't decided whether or not I want to replace my X370 motherboard, it would work but PBO doesn't exist for first gen boards and I can turn this board/CPU into a NAS or something.

>latency issues when Ryzen 2's default ram speed is something like 2666

going from a 2200g to a 3600. going to try and bench to compare. currently running the 2200g at 3.9ghz so it will be interesting to see what the difference will be in games

Who the fuck pre orders anymore?
I'll hangon to my Zen until better memory that's faster and ddr 5+ is out alot cheaper
Had a 4690 uv @4ghz a 3600x would be a huge upgrade for you
Based haswelle bros

Yes. Buyfag wants to buy the shiny new thing. Buy the RDNA gfx card and a HDR Freesync2 monitor.

>Pre-order up when?
I think pre-orders are up on the 1st, if I remember correctly. Still going to wait for reviews though.
>What's your current CPU?
i5 4590, I'm definitely ready for an upgrade
>What's your Zen 2 of choice?
3900X because I want this to last another 5 years

I'll still keep my r9 390 though, these new GPUs aren't worth the price. Still need to look at what ram I want and the Asus x570 ws ace is looking to be my next board.

>4690K
>3700X
I'm gonna pre-order because I am confident that no matter what it'll be a signifcant improvement over my current CPU

based
>3770k
>3900x

Attached: Speccy64.png (373x247, 13K)

I will buy intel

Nope, just Firefox and Chrome. I'm used to it because I don't know any better.

2600k
don t know yet, maybe 9700k or 3800x

gigabyte has best x570 boards.

>2700x
it cant even do 144hz 1080p let alone 144hz 1440p

Is memory latency a detriment or simply a lack of benefits?

Now this is a price point conscious man

What were you doing with the 1200?
Light gaming?

My asrock b350 will get the update

>upgrading so frequently

Hence why I got a 100hz screen
I'm only at 3440x1440p atm

no preorder
i7 920
3800X or 3900X, whichever is equivalent or faster than a 9700k in gaming and emulation. Benchmarks can't come soon enough.

Coming from the i5 3570K (Ivy bridge 4c4t).

For me it's the 3700X... not pre-ordering of course but it looks to be at great option. If it's too expensive in the UK then I might settle for the 3600X which may have better price/performance ratio in gaymen.

No pre-order.
2500K
3800X

I only play older games since nothing on the current generation caught my eye. I have a few titles that I think I might want to play next generation but we will have to wait and see. The last game I bought was the elder scrolls online and pic related is how much I've played of it.

Attached: ffasdgafhhgfhjfghfg.png (275x50, 19K)

none will be faster in gaming or emulation . usually emulators use a feature that only INTEL has if i recall corectly

big if true

I have mine at a mild OC at 4.2 GHz. After that, it just becomes not worth it anymore as even tiniest increases in voltage cause massive temperature increases. And I'm not keen about running a fucking turbine all the time.

Mine sops voltage and runs cool asf stock so at most I'll do is a under volt at 4ghz with some memory timing tweaks down the road

>Pre-order up when?
No.
>What's your current CPU?
1700
>What's your Zen 2 of choice?
3900x into 3950x when it comes out.

Attached: 1550782270724.png (400x434, 90K)

It isn't a fucking digital video game, you retard. There's potential scarcity when it comes to physical items.

Recently built a 2600 and Vega 56 build so no more upgrades for me in two or three years at least. I'm kinda sad I caved in an bought a month before Zen 2 was announced but fuck it, I had 3d renders and work to do for college and this new PC saved my ass

using a 6600k. going to get a 3700x, trying to decide on mobo and ram to go with it

3200MHz CL14 or 3600MHz CL16 are the best options, 3200MHz CL16 is a good budget option. If you don't need PCIe 4.0 get a decent X470 or B450 board that has the features you need. All the board makers kinda suck, ASRock tends to be the best value though.

>not buying RDNA to encode anime on x265 while having less power consumption
Isn't 8c enough?

He needs Ryzen 1xxx or 2xxx to do a BIOS ipdate for Zen2 compatibility, retard. He NEEDS 500 boards to plug and play

there are several boards under x570 that have the option to bios flash without a CPU

Attached: chipset-cheatshit.jpg (1510x849, 717K)

everything except the 570 needs a bios update so it has to have bios flash without a cpu feature

Hardware is worse if there is a qc or batch issue or a hardware bug. Letting others figure out the best memory pairing for optimal operations so I don't hard to experiment with my own money.

I'm sure they'll release pre-flashed mobo versions once you can actually order cpus

then what is that amd chart telling me? according to you the final column x470 and 450 should also say bios update needed.

I'm building a new pc. All I have now is a new psu and ssd kek, waiting to see 3700x, new mobos, then decide on ram, and waiting to see new rtx supers. oh and waiting for see new h510's. sitting on the money is killing me

the x370 and b350 specify that because you need to select in to a beta version of the bios, the others still need a bios update just not a beta version

I'm building a new pc. All I have now is a new psu and ssd kek, waiting to see 3700x, new mobos, then decide on ram, and waiting to see new rtx supers. oh and waiting for see new h510's. sitting on the money is killing me

no need to upgrade, have a 2700x :^)

WRONG

2700x here, I'm going to upgrade to a 3950x and there's nothing you can do to stop me. 2700x is going into a NAS/homeserver desu.

>x265
>gpu encoding
are you ok retard?

No preorder, I'm going to wait even longer for Black Friday sales
Core i3 4150 pls kill me
3600, unless the sales are really good

2600k and 2700x here. not buying into the moar cores meme again. will keep the 2700x and upgrade the 2600k to 9700k.

>he doesnt do nvenc cpu encoding with his 3950x

Found the retard.

How and where do I opt in for that shit? Asrock b350 poorfag here

based user is based. fx-8320 here. awaiting benchmarks and real world application before investing.

MSI already has the beta bios update on their website. Check Asrock and see if they do as well.

it's retarded to upgrade the 2700x to zen 2 you cretin. gaming perf on zen 2 is mediocre compared to intel and doing other shit zen+ is just fine, but be a good goy and slot that new shit into your socket, or even better buy a overpriced x570 with pointless extra features you won't use.

Attached: 1554938255155.jpg (700x700, 209K)

find your board on their website and go to support/bios some dont even need a beta version just make sure it says something about updating for the new CPUs

Post benchmarks with patches applied
