I used blender in 2007 (Remember when they introduced arrays, with all the spiraly demos and shit?). The problem isn't a bad interface, it's that it's incredibly unconventional. Knowing that interface made switching to 3ds max a living nightmare, and I basically can't go back to blender now.
... also blender didn't have multiple smoothing groups at the time, which was retarded, but it's pretty great software now.

I'm a blendlet and I love blender's UI but zbrush is unbearable. Regardless I still use both

blender is fantastic software. I never had an issue with the UI in 2.79 but 2.8 looks great
