/hgt/ – Haiku General Thread

Welcome to the /hgt/ – Haiku General Thread!

Haiku is an open-source operating system that specifically targets personal computing. Inspired by the BeOS, Haiku is fast, simple to use, easy to learn and yet very powerful.

So when will Haiku finally get its priorities straight and actually concentrate on being usable from a security standpoint? Why is it that this was the primary thing that even Windows got right with version 3.11 for Workgroups back in 1992-1993?

And what's the point of making this general when there are so many better hobby OSes with greater stability and more features (like TempleOS and its 3-second boot time as it compiles the entire kernel from source, or ReactOS with its compatibility with Windows-based programs, or MenuetOS with its full features being able to fit on and boot from a single floppy disk)? What makes Haiku so notable, that it deserves its own general, when the devs refuse to focus on the necessary things to get it working?

Have a pity you after all those reply-less attempts yesterday.

>Tries to make a containment thread
>Is the only one being contained
You really have no clue how containment threads work, OP.

>tfw every poster responding to OP has saged
Why? It's funny to see OP go autistic over posts like these. I mean the one point that gets people wanting to switch to new OSes is security (which Haiku doesn't even have the most basic form).

I don't give a fuck
About this OS my man
Time now to filter?

>Not saging when responding
You bumped the thread back to page one, retard.

>reddit style multi-line
>for a single sentence
You're just as retarded as a typical Haiku shill

Fun fact: samurai used to write haikus before committing seppuku. Maybe OP should do the same for this dead project.

Based

I have nothing good to say about Haiku

It's quite fast.

>Windows got right with version 3.11 for Workgroups back in 1992-1993
Oh

It's a research OS at best, just because the new devs don't believe it doesn't change it

FANTASTIC ADVERT DDUDE
how much did you pay for to advertise here?

brought to you by the years 1995 and 1998
LMFAO dude, who the fuck
would use this shit I think your time machine is malfunctioning, did you mean to go back to 1990 rather than forward to 2019?

Don't understand why everyone is crying about it, haiku seems nice.

>a typical Haiku shill
you say that like it's a common thing, or that such a person even exists

500 Vatican lira / thread. I think it is a good business.

this. I really don't understand the hate. Maybe people are afraid of it becoming an actual competent OS.
