What's your excuse for not using steam OS?

It has the stability of debian but comes with all the bells and whistles you could ever ask for. not to mention it comes from the makers of half life 2 - now which other distro has credentials like THAT?

Can linux actually utilise a modern GPU and run a game in VR yet?

Well, at least we know there will be no version 3.

Yes
I was playing Elite Dangerous in VR earlier today.

>install game steam
>i cant let you do that dave

Yes, but nvidia can be spotty. Not hopeless, jut kind of "let's hope it works for me". AMD is in a much better spot on linux.

"Valve" and "steam" when has nothing to do with thermodynamics
Absolutely cringe

Holy shit...
>Being this fucking deluded.

but why ?

there's literally no point for it to exist. you can get steam on any linux distro (as long as it has 32bit dependencies but even if there isn't there's still workarounds)

Valve made a few good games, but the quality of their programming is pretty poor
Steam takes half a minute to log in, multiple seconds to load the UI, awful browser without scaling option, have to restart to apply simple settings
...I definitely don't wanna use an operating system they made

all gamer shit has terrible programming. only good one I can think of is lutris

A few? Remove anything that could be classed as, or started as a MOD. They made one game, ONE and they never fucking finished it!

>A few?
Uhm... Portal, Portal 2, Bridge Constructor Portal, Half-Life, Half-Life 2!
That's more than 2 games

>install game ubuntu
>i cant let you do that steam
