An alternate approach to achieving Privacy

Instead of fighting the collection of data head-on an alternate approach may be far more valuable and effective.

Feed the spies disinformation.

The data collected on you is only valuable insofar as it is accurate. Inaccurate data is not valuable. By feeding these spyware systems bad data we can blur the line between accurate and inaccurate information and devalue the data that is being collected. This approach would wage a disinfo war against the privacy trackers and work to spoil any data collection done. Once companies realize this disinfo approach is being used it begins to devalue the data these spy companies are collecting. Who would want to pay ggl for info when you know some (or a lot) of that info is wrong?

Once people start using this sort of disinfo system the whole thing will quickly evolve into a cyber-war - with ggl and other marketers striving to disable or decipher the disinfo tech while privacy oriented programmers keep coming up with better systems to mimic human browsing behaviors and fool government systems.

My initial vision is for a sort of randomizer browser plug-in or script, much like a web spider, something that just randomly searches on Ggl or Yu2b and follows whatever links it finds, occasionally starting over with a new search. Eventually it would evolve into a windows executable or script that mimics natural mouse movements and user actions. Have the script run whenever the user isn't using the mouse - as a sort of screensaver perhaps. This feeds their system false information about what you like and are interested in. Regardless of the form the disinfo software takes - the goal is feeding these spyware systems copious amounts of false information. This would let individuals hide in the mass of fake data - like a single herring in a gigantic school of fish.

Doesn't Ad Nasseum sort of do this? it's a plugin that sends clicks to every add that it comes across during your browsing session. It's not a perfect solution because it still send semi-personalized data.

I like the idea and have had similar thoughts in the past.

Automating fake searches might be a good approach, but a key problem would be a way to evade bot detection filters. Rate-limiting it might be one approach to evade the filters.

Generating good fake searches is another. You have to make them sensical enough that they couldn't be trivially filtered out.

You could probably use markov chains to keep reasonable searches, the question is what do you make them about?

tfw clicking random and searching for random things in attempts to alter the my online footprint for the past 6 years has led to some hilarious badly aimed adverts
i know its not the same but on social media and any platform that has accounts i actively report any adverts
it got to the point where i started getting the same advert for random wooden stools
they aint got shit on me, but i guess i have been doing this for 5/6 years

the best thing is that the porn ad's are truly randon, sometimes there is 10/10 S tier adverts, which i dont interact with, but nigga i dont need a full fledged 90 minute porno

A and B would be from the same category, e.g. places in the same state or country, different types of product.
"how do i verb" should probably be have a specific phrase list so you don't get oddities like "how do i inculcate a raccoon" rather than "how do i tame a raccoon," where the tame phrase might be tagged for use with animals.

This wont work for the same reason that writing nigger on the old captcha didn't work for. Not enough people are doing it. Your disinformation will get lost in a sea of sheeps' real information.
