yikes

9th gen is weird, clocks are all over the place. At stock, I'll get anywhere from 4.0-4.7ghz on all cores depending on workload. 1-4 cores will run at 4.9Ghz on lighter loads.
>pic related is 4.7Ghz all cores (not super amazing but I can keep my fan speeds at 300RPM)

Imagine the 3900X

Imagine the smell

thats your hou...carton box burning, incel

My i9-8950HK laptop CPU is around this performance.

>i paid $1500 for a processor that AMD beats and for cheaper but its okay tho!!
Incel cope

>i7-9700K
>$1500
Uhm what

The point still stands, you got jewed

How is the single core performance? Still on par with i5-6500 or did they improve?

Basically Zen 2 has a bit lower than Skylake IPC. 4.9GHz Skylake-X is better in single core than the R9 3950X at 5.3GHz.

it depends on the L3 cache i think. The 3950X should have double of it.

Not sure about that. My previous CPU the E5-2679v4 had a lot more L3 cache than my new i9-9980XE but the i9 is a lot faster.

>tfw your i5 7500 will still be roughly equivalent to the 3700 in most games
cores schmores

A highly AMD biased benchmark that totally does not reflect real world computing. Just ignore all Cinebench posts.

>cinebench doesn't matter

I'm surprised you managed to type that out with your computer stuttering everywhere. Good job user.

Plenty of other differences there, a 3600 and 3950x are much more similar.

>check frametime data
>7500 exhibits massive frametime spikes

*sips cola*
ah yes stuttering nah it's fine look at the fps number it's bigger so it means it's smooth

True, but following this logic the 3600 should have even worse single thread performance.

taiwan numba 1.

Sad, I was really hoping to upgrade my system this year.

It’s still going to be a nice upgrade. I got the 9980XE not long ago but I plan to build another machine once the 64 core TR is out.

Even if youplan to upgrade next year then you're still not gonna get New socket arch / Zen 4 / DDR5 / PCIe 5.0

You know Intel will just come back with an even more pozzed uarch to beat Ryzen. Throw more speed holes cuz Intel fanboys are braindead monkeys anyway.

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP

Cost me $650 AUD, has it for over 8 months now and has been great. My 2500k motherboard died so I decided to upgrade. I only need single core performance up to 4 cores. I nearly went the i5.

Not everyone could afford to wait for Zen 2 to come out.

I got my 9700k in November. There was nothing else coming out at the time, and the 2700x obviously wasn't matching the 9700k in anything but pure multicore preformance, in gaming the 9700k was a clear cut above the 2000 series ryzen chips.

Is Intel expensive? Sure, but I needed a new computer in November, my previous one had hardware failure.

If my old computer had waited another 7 months before dying, I would probably be getting 3700x/3800x, but that obviously didn't happen.

I'm not at all upset at my 9700k purchase, it was the best CPU for my needs at the time I was buying it.

Playing BFV on a 4 core i5, not overclocked and with the shitty cooler that came with it. Buttery smooth.

>beats

Not even close.

Ummm it still loses to the 9700k and 9900k sweetie

>This $500, >95 watt 8c/16t at 5ghz boost is faster than a $199 65 watt 6c/12t at 4.2ghz boost
No shit Sherlock. Have you ever heard of the concept of inference? With the slowest Ryzen 3000 SKU being that fast in games on buggy pre-launch BIOS, it bodes extremely well for the higher clocked, higher TDP SKUs.

>gets compared to a 5 year old mid-range intel
>I-IT'S NOT FAIR

>5year old intel at 19% higher clocks and well over twice the power draw barely matches current amd at 65W
woww much amasing!

>The 9900k is five years old!!!!
>Release date: October 2018
(You)

How old is the 6700 bruh?

1.6 FPS buttery smooth

>> being too retarded to use GTranslate

Who cares? It's the comparison to the 9900k that's interesting for what you can infer about the higher tier SKUs with decent ram on a non-gimped bios, not the comparison to the 6700k.

the only link between the two would be people taking into account the new price cuts, ryzen has been selling like hotcakes since it was released

>Still less powerful than Intel from 8 years ago
>paying $360 for a processor that gets beat by a $50 pair of cpus.

hurr durr it's faster.

imagine having more threads and still lose

Imagine having more core, an actual on die core, and barely keep with a 6 core cpu.

97th percentile score for an 9900K running Windows. that's nice

A 5 years old chip that's still more expensive and with shitty RAM capabilities.

You can still use the software for free if you want.

No one is forcing you to pay the $20.

>12c 24t

wow imagine trying this hard, show me single core perf dude

Still pozzed and shit, deal with it.

BASED Ryzen 6 cores compete with Intel 12 cores LMOA

MCE runs the cpu outside of spec (boosting all cores to the single core boost), resulting in it consuming 200w

PBO runs the cpu w/ in the spec most of the time, only allowing the cpu to run outside the TDP limit for a few seconds

255 pounds on amazon.co.uk lmao

Kill yourself

All I see is Intel still winning on that chart. Also nice unsourced picture of some China display.

>[my pozzed anus]
>t. intel

>PBO runs the cpu w/ in the spec most of the time, only allowing the cpu to run outside the TDP limit for a few seconds
That's not true at all...

Not to mention, MCE does not boost all cores to single core boost resulting in 200w draw.

I have MCE enabled on my 9700k and it does all-core at 4.8Ghz and 1.28v, capping out around 140w. Nowhere near the 200w you're claiming.

Wow. Why not a real comparison with the same number of cores?

All I see is AMD winning on this chart :)

>still oblivious to how price brackets work.

I hope nobody uses SSD+Intel

When coupled with an intarded pozzed defective dumpster fire that is the i5 lineup you get HUGE performance hits from the 30+ security mitigations you are required to enable to have some sense of security at least. For example in pic related using intard trash slices SSD performance literally in half which results in excessive stuttering and lag. And that's only from the meltdown and spectre patch IIRC.

Attached: 1560424129495.jpg (1159x697, 69K)

Imagine coping this hard. Enjoy your hardware mitigations that ruin performance or does security not matter

Why can't Intel stop being so pozzed?

Don't you see current pozzed incels and their mental gymnastics? That's what they get for helping a company that slowed down computing for the rest of us

How is it mental gymnastics in this situation If I were in his shoes back in November, I 100% would've gotten a 9700k over a 2600x/2700x for gaming.
Even after security issues, the 9700k doesn't have hyper threading and is entirely unaffected by the largest MDS issue. And even today, WITH all the mitigation patches, it's still better than the 2700x for gaming, especially at high refresh rates.
Hell, he even fucking says if he could have waited for today, he would be getting a 3700x/3800x.
Yet you're calling that person an intel shill?
No wonder AMD shills have a bad rap, you're just assholes.

How fucking ass blasted do you have to be to not just admit, the 9th gen intels WERE a good buy 6+ months ago for high refresh rate gaming?

No one is saying buy it today.
No one is saying buy it last week.
No one is saying the 3000 isn't just as good, or better.
Just for ONE second realize, not everyone is a fucking shill, and sometimes people don't want to give up performance just to save a few bucks. The 9700k may not have been the price/performance winner of it's time, but to deny it's not better at gaming performance than what was available from AMD is just you trying to rewrite history to call someone an intell shill.

And again, I'm not even the person who bought a 9700k, and again, the person who DID buy a 9700k said they would have waited for Ryzen 3000 if their computer hadn't died on them in November.

Jesus fuck, not everyone is a fucking liar like you obviously are for AMD.

>my previous one had a hardware failure
What computer builder talks like this

Could be a non-native english speaker.

because why not fucking go with a 9900K if all you wanted was MOAR EP-PEEE-ESSSS in GAYMING.

Imagine being this impatient over getting a platform you could use in the long run over a dead one that Intel is raring to replace once they get 10nm running.
