2 rigs, one with 2600k + 1080 ti, the other with 2700x + radeon vii. the intel/nvidia rig gets either slightly worse, the same or slightly better minimums than the amd rig. even cpu hog games like ac: odyssey the 2700x only offers 15% more perf. the 2700x will pull further ahead with the nvidia card but honestly it's embarrassing how well the ancient 2600k stacks up against zen+ in gaymes.

I mean wouldn't it depend on a few things, since this is the ryzen cpu we are taking about here. You need fast ram (speed not latency) in order to gain maximum performance and programs/titles that are most offering in multi-threaded usage.

Regardless of everything I have said, the i7-2600k we both have really kicks hard even after all these years. Though this is mostly due to the fact that just over clocking the CPU itself already gives it a fairly noticeable boost.

ram in the amd rig is 3200c14, not the fastest but not shit either. the main factor here is amds dx11 driver because the 2700x does better when paired with the 1080 ti. before the newest chipset driver the all amd rig offered lower minimums in ac: o than the 2600k. newest chipset driver gave 27% more perf, which is a lot more than that hardware unboxed guy suggested.

100 fps is pretty nice I'd say and you would need a fairly good CPU in order for that to occur. Though if you do have a weak GPU, then you can always just toggle some settings down.
