Host your own mail server

not gmail

this

Protonmail

Cock.li

selfhost
first post nicest post

PM is both a blessing and a curse as it asks for bare minimum details (only your username and password) but it also doesn't let you use the same phone number twice and can't use burner e-mail/phone number for verification so it's a shitty situation.

gmail and yahoo. Been in the industry for ages, well respected, very trust worthy.

lol

Gmail with pgp. Or whatever provider with pgp. Gmail just offers good storage and reliability.

Have fun getting filtered out by everything

G Suite Gmail

How?
I already have a VPS, can I host it on that?

If you have to ask then you have no buisness doing any of that or even using a vps.
You are only going to hurt yourself when you loose your ip or dns and then nobody can email you account recovery details ever again so you slowly loose every account you care about.

What's a burner email?

Burner phone for millennials

Pay for webhosting that comes with email. Super comfy.

What's schwarbage?

Shell providers such as nyx.net which is rock solid.

One more for self-host.

You need correctly configured:
MX
PTR
SPF
DKIM
DMARC

This. Honestly, you can do all this for free in 10 minutes if you're not a brainlet. Then the only thing keeping you back is domain trust based on age, but you can't do shit about that for the most part.

cock.li

Tutanota

Your work/company domain connected to GMAIL if you need to be productive and efficient. Anything else if you're a neet who has way too much time on his hands and wants to pretend to be security conscious.

>the only way you could have free time for hobbies is if you don't work
ok

brainlet here
where do I start?

anything + GPG

those are a pain in the ass, also you seem to forget that you kinda need to declare your server to the big compannies

You can't be serious

> not serious
postmaster.google.com

That's only for domains sending large quantities of mail. I have mine registered and it literally doesn't tell you anything until you send 100+ emails per day.

I dont care, don't tell me I'm not serious when I am using facts.

I've set up all of those records in a single go and gotten above a 9 on mail-tester in less than a half hour. You linked Google Postmaster, a site you can register your domain on in less than a minute, as a reason why those records are a pain in the ass.
I'm struggling to believe you know what you're talking about if you actually think any of this is difficult.

You are the one implying that this is difficult, I said it is a pain in the ass.
I linked google postmaster, but im sure you're aware that it is not the only one.
Also thats I am glad you got a nice mark, but im sorry you sound like a school cuck.
To finnish i'll keep my position, setting up and managing a mail server is a pain in the ass.

Are anonymous private servers possible?
Not anonymous to the registrar, obviously, but to everyone else.

selfhost with docker is easy i heard

Anonymous being what, according to you?

I use Zoho mail. It runs on pajeet magic and it's pretty good.
One domain for free and 1 euro for unlimited multiple domains + imap/pop support.

Jow Forumsmail

Tutanota

I'd need to get all my contacts to use pgp as well though, no?

any Chinese email providers I can try?

cock.li

c o c k . l i

Probably the only good thing pajeets ever made. Its lets you create your own domain for cheap and comes with full office suite better than Google Docs.

Can you teach me
I am looking at mail cow, the email with the moo. It looks like my kinda software. Is it good email server?

What you use for shady porn and warez sites.

I use OpenBSD's smtpd, which is well-documented.
I've never heard of mailcow. A quick look at their site tells me it's a collection of software rather than an independant smtp server. They use Postfix for that, which I have little experience with.

My best tip: RTFM!

disroot

mailbox.org

This. Don't listen to these other faggots

Anonymous being that you don't know my name if you know my self-hosted email address, or that you can't find it out without some sort of legal intervention.

Is anybody else using tutanota?

I'm not completely sold on them yet.

I personally use RunBox. No idea if Jow Forums approved but they appear to be serious about their work.

One day I noticed that I can't connect to my CalDAV and CardDAV resources (thankfully It's my personal email not professional one so few hours of not being able to sync did not cause much issues).
I opened a ticket on their website. Within an hour I had a reply from the owner apologizing for it and informing it that the issue will be resolved within 2 hour and he will follow me up to verify that the issue was resolved.

I got the "Mini" plan with 5G of email storage for my account. 29,95EUR for two years so a grand total of 1,25 EUR a month after tax.
All of this considered I am satisfied with the service and would recommend it to anyone looking to get away from free email providers. I'm not a customer service whore expecting to be kissed in the ass but It was this pleasant warm feeling when the owner replied instead of some automated bot relying information from their ticketing system.

PS. Their web application is garbo, thankfully I don't have to use it.

I considered them too. But due to their security policy they require a dedicated application to access. For me not having IMAP/SMPT/CalDAV/CardDAV support is a dealbreaker. I like my K9 mail and I like my Evolution mail clients. If I need something encrypted I just use PGP and I trust it more than some email provider's assurance he's going to do it for me.

Pigeons.

Google is known to harvest data from their users' email messages. Yahoo has suffered some major data breaches recently. Neither of them are trustworthy.

Outlook.com

they have a new UI in beta and it's bretty good.

I use namecheap email hosting now.

From what shithole you're that it asked for you mobile number?

Lavabit was used by snowden so it must be good

real answer time: ignore every other faggot here
here are your options

self hosted (if you have autism)
disroot
tutanoa
botnet (everything else)

I use runbox too. It has no end-to-end encryption, which is a drag. But I like the unlimited aliases you can use and all the Norway server hosted on an iceberg powered by water bla bla, which is cool. I have the 2 years plan, don't remember which type of account was, I guess the max and it's pretty good for real.

Also, as someone said earlier, any provider will do. If its important PGP, motherfucker. All you need paying for is a reliable host with supreme uptime, nothing else.

Gmail
Outlook

Everything else is subpar by a large margin

anyone try SDF.ORG's mail service?

Take your pick:

posteo.de

mailbox.org

mailfence.com

msgsafe.io

startmail.com

neomailbox.com

openmailbox.org

XiMail.cn

You can use gmail, as long as you manually encrypt your stuff.
