>State the budget & CURRENCY
>List your uses e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
>For monitors include purpose & graphics pairing
>NO Speccy or "bottleneck checkers"

CPUs
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming
>R3 2200G - Light 30-60fps gaming(dGPU optional). 2400G if you want a CPU which can last into a GPU upgrade
>R5 2600/X - Good 60fps+ gaming & multithreaded use
>R7 3800/X - High end gaming, launching 7/7
>R9 3900X/3950X - Budget HEDT or gaming+streaming on a single PC, launching in September
>Threadripper - HEDT

>Intel CPUs are now defunct. Even used i7 workstations are no longer worthwhile due to vulnerabilities and related performance regression

RAM
>NEVER use only a single stick
>8GB - very light use, and/or if you don't mind closing programs regularly
>16GB - standard amount. If you have to ask if you need more, you don't
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2800MHz+ is ideal. Check "more" link for true latency formula

Graphics cards
1080p
>RX 570/580 - value.
>1660 - Slightly better perf for more demanding games on high/maxed 60fps+
> 1660Ti / Vega56 - higher framerates
1440p (WQHD)
>used 1070Ti / Vega - 60-120fps+ in most games on high/maxed
>High end models of 2070 like the Strix have been on sale for ~$460
2160p (4k)
>Wait for 7/7 and potential price drops

>RX 5700/XT is launching on 7/7. Nvidia Super soon as well. Wait for independent benchmarks if considering a >$300 GPU

Other
>Consider a larger SSD (better GB/$) instead of small SSD & HDD
>M.2 is a form factor, NOT a performance standard
>PLAN BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING

What's the guy who used to say
>you aren't allowed to buy Vega because Turing is newer
when Navi comes out, anyway?

where's the best spot to slum for used parts? my old mobo died so i need a new one/cpu/ram

>Intel CPUs are now defunct. Even used i7 workstations are no longer worthwhile due to vulnerabilities and related performance regression

lol, STILL will be faster than poomd at gaming. Don't listent to this AMD OP shill guys

Any aussies here who have bought from ShoppingExpress before? Made an order of parts that all said would ship within 24 hours of purchase on the weekend and it's been stuck on hold the entire time.

Am I getting chinked on this one?

Specs on current pc
I5 7600k
16gb ram
Gtx 1060 6gb
I am thinking about switching from Intel to the new ryzen 3000 series. Debating on two motherboards for this build
ASUS Strix X470 gaming or Asus Crosshair VII hero. Suggestions?

3800x or lower with minimal OCing - Strix
3900x/3950x/other 3000 series with high or extreme OCing - Crosshair VII

Is there such a thing as a graphics card being too small for a case?
Specifically the MSI 1660ti Ventus XS in a h500

Attached: 1547441142344.gif (480x320, 1.84M)

>gayming

No lol, and if anything you could argue a smaller card is better since it means more airflow.

580 or 1060 6gb? Both for like 150€.
I will be pairing it with a 2600.

X470 is the AMD chipset

Thank you user, Will I run into problems since I don't have the previous gen ryzen cpu to run the bios on the motherboard?

Actually I'm a nigger and can't read. Disregard.

My old r9 270x died yesterday T_T is the rx vega 56 good?

I'd honestly just wait until next month after Navi is released and the potential super cards are announced/released too before buying a GPU.

Crosshairs are the only motherboards that support USB flashback from ASUS so if you get that you have no issues, if you get the Strix you'll need a previous CPU

MSI have a ton of mobos that you can flashback the BIOS with USB if the CPU is an issue

Well, it will be for my gf who has been waiting for a long time already. I guess I could give her a 7970 or a 660 in the meantime, but the budget on the gpu is 150, so unless a new gpu comes out with that price tag and is actually better than a 580, then yeah, I will wait, or maybe if the current 1660/ti gets on that price in second hand.

>mfw I buy parts on sale locally and internationally from Amazon at a discount

Just missing CPU, GPU and mobo now.

Attached: IMG_20190618_190408.jpg (800x640, 87K)

It's more that the release of Navi in particular might knock down prices of current cards than anything else. Same with the 2060/2060 super but probably not as low as 150 euro

No. The cheaper versions of the 56 usually have fucked thermals and modern AMD HMB2 GPUs in general are pretty spotty. Wait to see what JewVidya Super even is and if it's shit either wait for the prices on the stock 2060 or 2070 to come down or just buy a 1660 Ti and be done with it.

The Vega 56 is very good value if you can get it for $250.

Thanks again user

Teach me your ways.

Help me finish my overkill PC build so I don't have to build one again for another 10 years, /pcbg/

why did you write everything on paper

this could help

because people are more likely to respond if I have an image

Probably a computer science major using his loan money on a ((($4000))) desktop. I can tell.

Right looks way better

I got a x470 Asus Crosshair VII for $212. I'm hoping the 2700z keeps falling in price. I'm all about that bang for buck.

Stop larping schoolkid you can't afford that

3600X will destroy the 2700X and cost less.

That's sorta the idea behind the picture. The one on the right looks better to zoomers but offers less value than something made a decade ago.

Nice guess but wrong, I have a job and already have the money set aside for it.

Half the parts I've already decided on getting aren't even listed on there yet.

so this...is the power of pc gaming....whoa...

games aren't even good anymore yet people still buy high-end hardware to play games

you win the boomer computer award

no negativity intended

I know its ancient, but I see no need to replace it. still does everything I need it too...

Can I run different clock speed, CL14 and CL15 RAM in same PC? I'm buying 8gb more, but turns out kingston stopped manufacturing these I have

Here's the model

amazon.de/HyperX-HX421C14FBK2-16-Arbeitsspeicher-compatible/dp/B00TY6A1P0?th=1

Attached: 1435045572885.jpg (569x327, 31K)

you can generally run mismatched RAM at the setting the slowest one supports
mine's as ancient as yours. considering upgrading too but what's the point?

thanks

Eve Online must be amazing with that setup.

Why is the 2600 still a thing? the 3600 is literally an 2700X equivalent with a $200 price tag.

>why is current CPU still a thing? Unreleased thing will be better

The 580 is a really good card for 1080p gaming. No other cards will drop at that price, so I'd say go with it.

All right fa/g/s, i have a question :
Is an used 1080ti for 265 euros a steal ?

Prices are falling slowly so people can recover maximum money out of their old stock it's not fucking rocket science. You can buy a 1600 and a motherboard at Microcenter for $100 before tax. Why? Because it's old as fuck stock they're probably written off by now and they're using it to get business.

its 1.5 weeks from being released and they included 3xxx series processors in the next line

Because one is $60 cheaper and they perform the same unless you have a 2080 or better @ 1080p

I just want a good price/perf set of ram for zen2 ;__; help me frens

good luck, that shit doesn't exist. ram prices have been dropping so literally just wait.

>>Intel CPUs are now defunct. Even used i7 workstations are no longer worthwhile due to vulnerabilities and related performance regression

lmao

Patriot Viper Steel 3733 C17 is like $90 right now.
It's not going to have much headroom for tight timings but it's bang on the Zen2 sweet spot and won't be getting any cheaper.

SLI is basically dead, bruv

haha i literally bought some of that shit like an hour ago
good show

Just bought some G.Skill TridentZ 3600Mhz CL17 32GB (4x8GB) for my upcoming Ryzen build
Did I fuck up?

I have that kit, it's good mid-binned b-die for the price. Should hit 3733c15 at least.

Oh, lovely. I'm planning on pairing it with a 3900x. I also paid $350 mapledollars for it, which is just under $270 USD, give or take

Oh no, it's actually based on worse case scenario yields, highest prices for everything that we know of. So it's pretty much as expensive as it can possibly be if everything costed as much as it could with sub par yields.

Ah shut up, you can't keep bringing up their cards from 10 years ago and keep pretending that excuse will now work for an eternity.
Not only is the internet filled with more tech reviews that help people compare performance these days, but Nvidia had bad PR from their ray tracing shit.
IT was the perfect time for AMD to swoop in and save the people so to say and gain huge market share and then next gen increase prices.
Instead they wasted a golden opportunity and decided to get bad PR for themselves and make Nvidia look good.

So much for Zen 2 shilling.
Who could've seen this coming?

Attached: 1544907632855.jpg (719x568, 75K)

>he CAN'T STOP POSTING IT

Just buy 5133 ram

patch those intels, turn off hyperthreading and come back to me
:^)

VIA GANG

>samefagging

Or just buy a 9900k

>El Chapuzas

wow that must be loud as shit.

stop evading your ban.

i really wish VIA made competitive processors
monopolies are the worst but duopolies aren't much better

hold up was he actually banned before
should i be selecting ban evasion instead of trolling than

AMD RYZEN 5 2600, good meme?

yeah but Zen 2 is out in less than two weeks now
R5 3600 is gonna be $199 USD
which is $50 more than the current price of the R5 2600 is on newegg

Wouldn't you have been better off ordering two of these?

Redpill me on Zen 2 RAM. Disregarding the prices, what speed and CL is optimal?

3733Mhz CL17

Attached: 3733mhz.jpg (1810x1018, 651K)

How dumb would it be to get this motherboard for gaming? Mind you, I don't really care for overclocking.

asus.com/Motherboards/Pro-WS-X570-ACE/

Probably not even gonna boot in those speeds unless it's on 1.4v

Would've ended up spending more in import charges that way, I couldn't find reasonable 3733Mhz up in Canada

Ordering from Amazon.com gave me this. I'm also a Canuck for the record.

Attached: PSX_20190626_052130.jpg (1080x1113, 144K)

Why do you assume that?
Sure it won't work at that speed on Zen+ but that's irrelevant.

I also refuse to use Amazon

No he wasn't. It's just that the mental scizo thinks everybody who disagrees with him is the same person. He has thrown in multiple people into that "person" and usually any bystandards as well that disagree with him.

But if your response to which is just a image of latency tests is to report for trolling then I am guessing you don't want to be reasoned with or even have a discussion.

Suit yourself. I didn't look around any further than that, but you could probably find the same deal elsewhere.

Check the reviews, there's plenty of people claiming they get much lower speeds. Patriot is meh

aluminium if im not mistaken

Yes, on Zen/+, which never had a hope in hell of getting 3733 without a golden IMC and a lot of tweaking.

>is to report for trolling then I am guessing you don't want to be reasoned with or even have a discussion.
what a disingenuous faggot-fuck reply, holy shit
you've seen it be spammed up and down in every thread, kiss my ass you smug retard

It's fine. I only spent $50 more anyway and I'd rather support my local PC shop instead of Jeff Bezos

>on zen2 it will magically work with x470
okay bro do whatever you want

Current specs
I5-8600
GTX960 2gb
16gb ram
I plan on upgrading my GPU in a month or so and im torn between a 1660TI or a vega 56, from what ive seen the vega 56 has better performance but im used to all the gimmicks with nvidia like shadowplay etc so what would be the better choice here?
I could extend my budget to get an rtx 2060 but i dont think its worth it

Jesus how dumb are you, the mobo doesn't matter they are all daisy chain topology just like X570, it's the IMC that held back Zen/+ everyone but you knows this.

Anyone know what cards were used for mining craze back then? I want to buy used gpu but I'm afraid that the card was used for mining.

>the board handles the memory and not the memory controller on the CPU
are you at least having fun, being deliberately retarded?

rx570
rx580
gtx1070
gtx1080
vega56 & 64
