Moved from Python to Scala for writing Spark apps, pretty happy with the change.
Any Scala chads here?

Wrong thread.

Is .net and c# any fun to learn and do as a job?

install Elm, JS-Chan

Hey guys, I need some help.

I'm creating a failover mechanism for our distributed database clusters that replicate to each other. I was wondering if it was even possible to do something like this with near no state? Specifically, when a call fails over I want to stick to that fail over for 60 seconds before switching back to the primary one.

The state that is required would be the priority list of read and write urls, and the current one we're using, and the time before we reset. Would I be able to eliminate this somehow? I hate state, especially time state

Attached: haskell.png (1280x719, 818K)

Elm is just a layer of bloat.

how so?

>I hate state
then you're dumb

>get involved
>just make friends
>just bee yourself

Yes. There are thousands of job offers for .NET, specifically ASP.NET. It's also a nice language, and enables you to learn lower level langs like C++

ok :(

It's note native in browsers. It tranpiles to JS which like most languages that do this is awful compared to a good ES6 dev.

streaming is a bad way to make friends

Mature adults don't browse Jow Forums

>lighter than every JS framework
>faster than every JS framework
>less LoC than any JS fw
>incredibly type safe
>totality so if it compiles, it will likely be stable and never have run time errors
And yet JS is still better, whatever you say m8.

i made a translator to play eroge games but now i am using it to stalk Japanese girls on the fediverse.

>using frameworks
I said a good ES6 dev, not a web pajeet.

Yeah, find me one company who uses 100% vanilla JS, i'll wait.

i don't know, some streamers have become friends to each other and are now even living in the same house, doing stupid shits all day while earning lot of money. meanwhile i am a broke ass janitor in an amusement park who has to clean kids's feces and stuff like that. being a streamer must be delightful.

You know what, nevermind. I thought Jow Forums was sane but clearly you're part of the cancer that make webbrowsers consume GB of ram just to work.

What do you guys think of Blazor?
Build client web apps with C#
dotnet.microsoft.com/apps/aspnet/web-apps/client
github.com/aspnet/Blazor

Attached: blazor.png (225x225, 4K)

Any page or vid that explains it simply (ony used shell for linux and pwshell and cmd before so)

it's really sad that you look up to famous people and want to be like them just because they have friends
anyone is allowed to have friends
you dont need to be a fucking streamer

>ASP.NET
no

I said find me a company that uses only vanilla JS, not deflect and make up excuses as to why you're discarding a much better language you know nothing about.

Your resorting to an appeal by authority. I'm not putting up with some inane shitposter that enjoys making cancer. Fuck off.

it may be good but I hate all webdev with the power of a supernova

I tried it already, I think it's pretty good.

>elm is bad
>no it's actually objectively better than all the JS frameworks
>LMAO who uses JS frameworks, real JS devs don't
>show me one
>n-no
kys

trying to finish datacamp online course :|

>mfw I wrote a small line counter in C and it took 14 secs to parse the entirety of the Linux kernel vs cloc's 3 and a half minutes, and I haven't even implemented multithreading yet

Thanks for proving my point, inane shitposter. Have fun killing the web.

I like it. thank god it's not retarded about types and other crap when modifying img/src attribute

Show me 1 (One) pure JS project of yours then.

I'm done talking to you shitposter. No one cares about your bloated elm output that you're making browsers run like shit.

why can't webshits stick to their containment thread

>multithreading on a program limited by disk speed
lmao

>vs bloated frameworks
Wow!

Programming should be fun.
Programs should be beautiful.

They want to play with their big sister

There's no way he's maxing out his disk bandwidth doing one file at a time.

I want to program something

That's a real shame, user

Is there anything you wish you could automate or make easier that interests you? Forget about how complex such a project may seem. just throw some ideas out

Code me a waifu

I was thinking more about accessing a fuckton of small files

Scheme

elm is the golang of FP

Idk... maybe script that will automatically download new episode od anime

>elm is the golang of FP
What do you mean by this?

Post link

a torrent client + rss already does that though. it's how people on private trackers get good ratios, because they auto-snatch everything

If anything threading would help.

pls explain, how do you seek to multiple position at the same time? (on a HDD)

so do it
if you can't think of anything just fuck around, learning new things, until inspiration hits you

that user shouldn't install it

We told you sepples was a bad idea bro!

F#

It's 2019, stop using a HDD.

She looks ugly with a tan holy shit.

Any way to see. Net and c# explained simply?

microsoft's documentation
it's actually surprisingly good compared to the quality of the vast majority of MSDN documentation
there's also a book, i can't quite remember the name
something like professional C# or something

Lisp is the most powerful programming language.
