openbox is easy to configure desu. themes are straightforward, issue is making gtk fit with it.
also panel is xfce4-panel with genmon plugins and vala-panel-appmenu (slightly modified, crashes with openbox when you minimize all windows normally)

Screenfetch is an outdated and not really customiseable. Also shits itself if it can't get data on something.

Not him, but the systemd thing has come up time and time again. My own personal reasons for not using it boil down to two simple things: it sometimes failed to load my ATI drivers on Debian and boot would hang [this was a reported bug which was closed as WONTFIX, and the fact that REISUB did nothing proves it was a systemd issue] and the second is that I just don't trust it.
