Until AI is at the point it is so cheap, and I mean literal Africans living in huts can even afford it, we're not going to see leaps and bounds. Until then it's a meme technology, like driverless cars (don't even get me started on that).

It's like going into a major CBD. Look at the buildings and how shitty and deteriorated they are. We need new buildings to reinvigorate the place, but nobody is willing to invest. Until somebody invests and shares the benefits of that investment, everything is at a standstill and nothing moves forward.

AI is at least 80% marketing. Having words like neurons, machine learning and artificial intelligence connected to the things they do is Don Draper level of marketing.

Developers can benefit from this too. Just find a way to throw linear regression and a simple A* together in a project, put it on your github and sell yourself as an AI developer.

and of coarse the company I work fr wants AI to benefit them. Right now they are pushing data collection, data collection is the hot thing these days at my job. but guaranteed that the next step will be having AI look at the data. sure a bunch of analysts and process engineers will be out of a job, but the company will learn how to save money and saving money means more money for the rest of us who aren't being replaced, so you ca suck it.
