It's faster and has a side menu. That's literally it. It's just as shit as GNOME.

A more conventional default layout, which you can get with pretty much any other DE while using less ram.

Try lxde/openbox/a wm

It's sort of like Cinnamon, where it comes by default as a traditional desktop metaphor built on some GNOME technology (like Nautilus). But it can be configured to look pretty much however you want it to, so if you want it to be like elementary OS's pantheon, you can do that
