I need to switch carriers from T-Mobile since I can no longer have my old sweetheart plan ($50/mo unlimited everything). Just gonna be me and myself on one line.

I have an OG Pixel that could use a battery ($80+ fix), but is otherwise perfectly fine and responsive. I love it, but I've been thinking of upgrading to either the 2, 3, or 3a.

At this point, it's between two carriers: Fi and Mint. For Fi, I don't see myself having trouble limiting myself to 3 GB/mo of data to make it so I'm still only paying $50/mo. The price is obviously better with Mint, but I lose the ability to switch between T-Mo/Sprint towers and I also cannot trade in my old Pixel with Mint ($70-something value with Fi). However still, I could only get a new Pixel 2 through Mint and not Fi ($500 at this time). Or, with Fi, I could get a new Pixel 3 for $600 and get that sweet trade-in deal, or even a 3a for $400.

Based on all of these criteria, what should I do? Go w/ Fi and get a 3/3a w/ a trade-in for my OG Pixel? Go with Mint and pay off a Pixel 2 or 3? Or keep my OG Pixel, get a battery for it, and pick one of the two carriers?

Attached: 1411895161861.jpg (666x728, 126K)

It really depends on whether you'd like to save money. If you're okay with your phone and think Tmo's service was fine, switch to Mint. I've been on Mint for like a year and a half and it works just fine for me. $15/mo as a $180 at the start of the year is pretty sweet

(Ps, I can give a referral link to save another $15 :^) )

Seriously though, you'll get more from Fi but it'll also cost more. You can also just go on Mint for like 3 months to see if you like it, then decide later. Could also help you save a bit toward a Pixel 3

>I also cannot trade in my old Pixel with Mint ($70-something value with Fi)
Just FYI, you don't have to get Google Fi to do the trade-in. On Google Store just choose Unlocked instead of Google Fi in the carrier selection and it still gives the trade-in option.

I want to buy my my wife a new phone since her current one is going to shit. What phone up to around 450€ has a great camera (she has been using a6 edge, so the cam shouldnt be worse than that) and looks like something women would use (not the black minimalistic rectangles we idealize around here).
So, 450€ or so for good camera and good looks.

just got my redmi 7
activate google assistant y/n?

>Bringing the phone to your bed
What's wrong with you?
That's filthy.
Get a dedicated device for your bed.

resist the botnet

>he's not desinfecting his device every ten minutes
Whew, bro. How can you live like a filthy pic?

I have a used iPad 2 I got for really cheap for my bed use but it's slow as shit.

I bought a used smartphone, flashed the factory image and locked the bootloader, is there anything else I should do or am I good to go?

I'm glad I'm not the only one doing so.
I've got Nexus 7 (2012), it's showing it's age, but get the job done for my night time reading (erotica& manga) and listening to podcasts and ASMR.

What's the best ROM for redmi note7? Without pajeet garbage like 70 ugly ways to customize statusbar

>factory image
Where do you get these?
I'm looking for the factory image of Galaxy S2.

It was for a Pixel 2 and they're available on Google's website, not sure if other manufacturers put them up

do you have a glass protecting film on your phone?

Glass? No just really thin plastic.

>that pic
stay jelly wagecels.

Fuck me for the past month I haven't even bothered getting off the bed all day. It's a miracle that I still don't seem overweight with clothes on, but my body is literally no muscle at this point. How the fuck do you fix this? I can never convince myself to get off my bed.

Since when the Pixel 2 is supposed to be a battery champ? I get ~6 hours of SOT regularly with fairly heavy use and high brightness.

My old phone is basically not supported anymore (galaxy s3). They told me my phone is too old and they're been upgrading their shit so now my reception is spotty at best and non existant most of the time

I'm looking for a new phone that still works with the following must have features:

stereo jack, ir blaster . that's it.
Can't seem to find a modern phone that has this. Do they exist? I already dropped my need for an expansion slot and removable battery since that's just impossible to have these days apparently. Price is not an issue, my parents are paying for it

Is the Mi 9T getting android q? The official list mentions the k20, but not the Mi 9T

ofc the only time i but from china they have a fucking civil war and my order gets delayed REEEEE

They're the same exact phone so I don't see why it wouldn't.

gsmarena.com/results.php3?nYearMin=2016&chk35mm=selected&chkInfrared=selected&s4Gs=4,12

Yes it will, K20 and Mi9T are the same phone. The only reason Mi9T is not on the update list is because the list was posted on the Chinese MIUI forum and only contains models available for sale in China.

Do you guys use your main Google account on your Android phones? Or do you create a new one for each new phone you get?

I'm thinking about LG V30, MI 9T, and Samsung counterparts, any suggestions?
And no, I'm not buying fucking Redmi Note 7, get that stinking shit out of my face.

Mi 9T isn't waterproof
S10e would fit your criteria but costs 500€
LG V30 might be good but a little old already
I have only one Google account and I use that

Mi CC9/A3

ye I was looking at S10e, but honestly I'm not willing to pay 600usd for a phone that giant fucking hole in display.

I really want to buy V30 because people praise it's DAC, and I like to listen to music on my phone, but I'm trying to find more modern variant.

V40?

Whats the best phone I can buy under 200€ that support official lineage?

Become a chuuni.

used Pocophone F1 or Mi 8

>notch

why do people get so triggered by notches?
anyway, what about the S9?

I'm thinking about falling for the Redmeme Note 7, but I never had a notch phone before.
Is the notch part of the top black bar? Isn't it annoying when something like a video is displayed fullscreen and the notch is blocking stuff?

Dump her. She will just use the new phone to continue cheating on you.

Use NachoNotch to hide it.

Because they're fucking disgusting.
How long does samshit support their phones? Aren't they full of planned obsolescence ?

I can get the poco new for 300€.
I don't want used shit since I don't know what sick shit the previous owner did with it and besides its unhygienic as fuck.
I might get the poco but aren't there cheaper alternatives?

Phone screens have ridiculous crop ratios. You’re going to have black bars on either side of 99% of vids you watch unless you watch full screen cropped.

Better question, why do people hate bezels?

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, Moto X4, Sony XA2

Because paying anymore than about $300 for a phone is a complete waste. Cheap or flagship doesn't get supported more than about 2 years, 3 if its a pixel, so why pay more? I bought a new $400~ phone last time and here we are 2.5 years later and I have to charge it midday now and it hasnt had an update for over a year

So I'm not paying more than about $200 for my next phone so I won't feel as bad when I have to buy a new one in 2 years. If you want to pay 500-800 be my guest but you'll get the same amount of support from the OEM

Xiaomi Mi CC9 looks good, but I'll admit I haven't looked into chinese phones since getting my ZUK. Do we have a date on when it's coming out?

Attached: Xiaomi-Mi-CC9[1].jpg (675x656, 84K)

Smaller phones when? Please no more 6+ inch display smartphones. Let's go back to 5 inches.

Coming off an iPhone 6 I've had for a while but the battery has become horrible. l Don't game, headphone jack would be nice.

US
Verizon

From reading around I've seen people recommend the A50 and Pixel 3a. Anything around the price I'm overlooking?

Attached: 1478576072704.jpg (600x690, 33K)

For now it's China exclusive by the way.

Has anyone tried no screens for x hours before bed? Does that shit work? I already have f.lux and wear blue light blocking glasses on top of that. But I'm wondering if I'm being to mentally stimulated by my pc and phone before sleep.

Yes. Red light reducing apps help, but no electronics 2 hours before bed is best. Everytime I read from my ebook reader instead using laptop, I sleep better.

Thanks

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE for 268 USD on Banggood. Is that a good deal? Is the phone itself decent?

Are ads in Xiaomi phones that bad? Can I remove them? I barely use my phone but I like to use it to play spotify on my car's stereo and my current phone is getting kind of slow. I was looking at the Mi 9T, should I go for it?

The ads are trivial to disable, I've literally never seen an ad on my Xiaomi phone because I spend a few minutes while setting it up to disable all the ads and bloatware apps.

I know they are but the implication that only "K20" has been listed could be that they plan to only support it in the markets where it is labeled that way.

This becomes extra suspicious if you consider Xiaomi seemingly doesn't want to release the Pro worldwide.

It'll be fucked If they don't. If I were to buy it I hope to get at least one android version overhaul from it.

ordered a lenovo z6 youth what do you guys think? around 140euros but much better specs than redmi note 7(apart from the camera). I have been digging through chinese forums and it seems that the camera quality has improved quite a bit because some software bugs were fixed. also i've heard it's compatible with gcam.

is it safe to say that it's the best phone for that price on the market atm?

like a fleshlight

It'll get two Android version updates like pretty much all Xiaomi flagships

Is there a Jow Forums approved guide for installing a custom ROM? I want to install Lineage OS. First time installing one so I need pointers that aren't by Pajeets on youtube.
Using a Meizu chink phone and they allow root access and all that apparently.

This user gets it

Thoughts on the Honor 20? My mobile carrier has a pretty good deal offering it, where I'd even get a flight ticket for free. But it doesn't have an OLED screen and it's also not water resistant...

What can I do about the Mi 9's fucked up auto brightness? It's way too dark in low light conditions. Like literally at min value so you can barely see anything

So when is the k20, / 9T come out then? I wanna get one but I don't like pre-ordering. One question though; currently, kimovil lists an 8gb version of the k20 CN version. Is the 9T gonna get an 8gb option or is it gonna be 6gb only like what they did with the mix3?

I once had a 6 week long power outage because my fuse box got water damage.
And this was before smartphones and I had no laptop, so no screens at all.

Only electronics I had was a battery powered radio.
Couldn't ever read a book after dark because candlelight isn't bright or sable enough.

Slept worse than ever before.
Just stared at the ceiling for hours.
Please never again.

Can't you disable auto brightness?

That happened to me too once. Libraries help

Yeah, I went to libraries, movie theaters, internet cafes (lol), friends homes etc. during the day/evenings.
But at some point you have to go home and try to sleep.

I am getting a new smartphone for a relative (extremely casual user) that don't want to pay too much and want a somewhat large phone. The Xiaomi 7 is in the price range, but I am suspicious of Chinese products in general and I am afraid that they might get the Huawei treatment. Do I need to worry?

Isn't it out already? I see it in AliExpress and Banggood.
Speaking of which, it's about $40 cheaper than Mi 9. What are 9's advantages over 9T, apart from the CPU? 9T has headphone jack and a better battery so it feels like it should be the more obvious choice.

Chad here. Work out and lose your virginity to see what it's like just for the hell of it. Realize that all women are shitters and that living with them is a nightmare. Then go focus on hobbies and carry on usual, with an added focus on physical fitness because that's important. This is the only way to be happy

>Mi 9 SE
No. Won't fully work with US carriers, only the base Mi 9 will

sorry m8, you gotta build your own phone.

they at least know a thing or two about good screen. too bad about the bootloop issues tho.

Is the Samsung S10e a meme or should I just buy the IPhone Xr?

I like the larger size of the Xr and the notch I find nice looking. What’s the benefit of the S10e aside from more cameras and a few more pixels you can’t even notice.

Thoughts on the Realmeme X as a alternative to the 9T?

Any thoughts on the Vivo Z5X?
Ali Express has begun shipping the 8GB model.
