>always on top
Thanks I just alt+tabbed but my boss saw the video and just fired me

>lagfox dumbtum fags are only getting this feature now
>ff 52esr has had an extension to do this, and much more, for many years
lmao, sjwzilla support dollars at work

why use that instead of youtube-dl + the media player of your choice?

i could never get youtube-dl + mpv to work for some reason

It's in opera since years now, and considering that firecuck is botnet too it would seem Opera is the better botnet browser.

the fuckign button never goes away from videos. NO i do not want to use PIP. STOP showing me a god damn BLUE button on every video on every website

assuming you're on windows
1. put youtube-dl.exe in media players install folder
2. drag and drop supported link to media player
3. change media player ontop settings

4. optional: install the openwith extension and add G:\path\to\mediaplayer.exe as a 'browser'

making scrambled eggs is more difficult than this. i mean, the shinchiro mpv build comes with youtube-dl and an updater for both mpv and ytdl, it takes less than 5 minutes to set this up.
should be even easier on linux depending on the repos you're using.

just put ytdl in your mpv directory

Youtube + offered that years ago.

What extension is that? I always drag and drop in mpv to play youtube videos

Then don't use the feature.

This sounds great. I've been just popping my video tab out of Chromium, dragging the window little, and using my window manager to make it always on top.

github.com/darktrojan/openwith
it officially only supports browsers, but you can add any program you want in the options. i've tried it with mpc-hc, mpc-be and mpv (both on linux and windows)

Thanks mate

I legit dont see the point. Might be worth it on a toaster

it has the benefit of having all of your media players options available. you can't even change the saturation in webplayers.
also avoids having to load a website full of tracking scripts and the video quality is better.

user I....

Do you have privacy.resistFingerprinting enabled?

looks like your user agent is set to firefox 60, are you using the anti fingerprint stuff? i've been using this addon for years without issues

>Firefox offers a simple picture in picture function
>user hacks together multi step solutions with less features, that work with fewer sites

Just use MPV for videos, faggot.

>less features
you can not actually be serious.
mpv.io/manual/master/

Does it show YouTube captions? Let you select the quality on the fly? Simply click another video at the end? Does it work with most other sites that play videos? It's an excellent media player but I'm talking about features specific to playing browser videos.

>user hacks together multi step solutions with less features, that work with fewer sites
It's literally 2 key combinations for me ("CTRL+C", "CTRL+SHIFT+V") to play any video in actual fully featured media player.
As a bonus, it's not always on top.

So you're saying you have your browser set up so ctrl-c copies the url no matter what has focus, and ctrl-shift-v is a global shortcut to launch mpv and load a video url in it?

>Let you select the quality on the fly?
Yes

More scripts

>Does it work with most other sites that play videos?
Yes. It works with sites that aren't officially supported too.
ytdl-org.github.io/youtube-dl/supportedsites.html

>Does it show YouTube captions?
yes
>Let you select the quality on the fly?
yes, with scripts
>simply click another video at the end?
no, but you can use playlists and make your own at any point or append videos
>Does it work with most other sites that play videos?
ytdl-org.github.io/youtube-dl/supportedsites.html
the only sites they won't support are piracy websites, others will be added on request. why you would stream pirated movies in horrible quality instead of downloading them is beyond me.

can firefox pip change video saturation on the fly? can you set the playback speed to any value you want instead of a few presets? save the video+subtitles while watching it? does it have a working seekbar? can you define which monitor the video will open on in multimonitor settings? does it support audio normalization? does it support video interpolation? can you change the size, position and color of subtitles? is there a way to disable tracking scripts on the website without losing the ability to play the video? can you add videos from different websites to the same playback queue?

Also, caching is a lot better in mpv.
demuxer-seekable-cache=yes
demuxer-max-bytes=2048MiB
demuxer-max-back-bytes=1024MiB

I do, but It's enabled through this, and about config, tried to disable it there, still can't install.

Attached: firefox_jeeLNbdAEL.png (692x597, 22K)

Your browser is obviously giving off a fake useragent. Why do you change things in your browser without understanding it?

I understand it perfectly I told you I've tried to disable it with about config and in the settings, nothing works

Is this loss?

And if it actually isn't working then you aren't doing something right on your end

nvm, I goofed, how do u actually make it work with mpv?

you could try installing an older version and then updating it, i guess
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/open-with/versions/

alternatively you can try using a useragent changer and setting v63+
i agree with , your useragent seems to be reporting a different version than what you have.

open the options of the addon and follow the instructions, then click on 'add browser' and put in the path to mpv

i completely forgot it needs python, if you don't have that installed, you can try another addon.
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/send-to-mpv-player/
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ff2mpv/
i can't vouch for those, i've never tried them.

how do I enable it

>kids only know tabbed browsers and not that you can resize windows and shit manually

Guys I am using MPV built by shinchiro and the shell script that updates the player, automatically downloads 7zip and that drives me nuts, how do I correct the script to check if I have 7zip installed on my system?

...

>assuming you're on windows
lol

addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/open-with/versions/

You're saying linux users are too dumb to figure it out? kek

read the thread user...
that's a bad "solution" and he already figured it out

This shit has been in Opera for a long time, and that has a seekbar too.

Enter Safari

I suppose it's because you're retarded.
