Never new. There's countless 1080p monitors out there second hand. Broadly speaking small 1080p standard refresh rate has been stagnant.

When I look at people like this it makes me wonder if they're the group that make up the suicide statistics for adult age ranges. Like what do these people do when they turn 25. Long term thinking doesn’t fully develop until around 25. My buddy has two full sleeves and works as a sale engineer making bank. Even he sometimes regrets them lol.

1080P is still acceptable on anything up to 27" or so. Also, the tech is finally affordable so pick up both IPS (or ahva) type and 144hz freesync.

Playing games at 1080P makes your video card budget stretch far- even a mid range card can likely max out titles at 1080P.

If you can afford a little more though, consider 1440P. Right now it's the sweet spot. 27ish inches , IPS or Ahva, 144hz, 10bit panel, freesync 2 hdr ...all without costing a fortune.

This is probably the place to wait until 4K 144hz OLED or maybe microled arrive

No, I don't. I have 20/20 vision and I don't have a 32" or even a use for one. I game some of the time and I'm not made of money, so, I'm not buying some of the best GPUs money can get you for gaming performance not to be halved.

high ppi text renders pretty comfy indeed (checking phone) but how does it translate to a monitor? if u dont upscale it will only be tiny and if you upscale you still have issues (allegedly) on certain apps and things

no. very simle. looked at 4k monitor prices lately? two years ago, perhaps 1080p was worth considering. If your budget's $30 then sure, a user 1080p monitor would be a good buy. If you're spending more than that you should just go for a 4k display. they are cheap now.
