Adobe flash player

Is it even necessary to have this installed anymore?

Holy fuck, no. You should have uninstalled that shit YEARS ago.

how else will I browse /f/

don't think i've had it installed anywhere since 2012 at the latest. For all the things I could hate on steve apple for, playing a part in killing flash is one thing I'm grateful about.

The bad news is javascript is now more ubiquitous than flash ever could have been, and worse in many ways.

>/f/ still exists
Holy goddamn obsolete bullshit.

it stopped being necessary 10 fucking years ago.

the only good thing Steve Jobs ever did was kill flash using his temporary iphone monopoly

i uninstalled flash around a decade ago

flash has been pointless ever since;
- JS replaced it for website toys
- YouTube replaced it for animations

How else will I play candystand mini golf?

Friend!

How else am I going to close the Habbo Lido?

ITT: people who were toddlers when Jobs said this bullshit try to rewite hitory

Is Quicktime running the media world too? Adobe Flash killed itself, slowly but surely, by being a bloated, wildly-insecure content-delivery platform that media companies couldn't DRM the way they wanted to.
Besides, you would be amazed at just how many sites still run primarily on Flash (damn-near every dubious streaming site and porn site), or have a Flashbased fallback-backend for browsers that don't implement HTML5 correctly.

Haven’t used it since 2008.

How else am I to get my daily dose?

Some industries don't update. I got parts for a rental shop. MultiQuip parts ordering needed flash. Bobcat needed Internet Explorer 8 and an active X plugin to view part breakdowns. Those two were the worst besides " warning you are not using the latest version of internet explorer" when browsing in firefox.

how else will i play hentai flash games?????????????

thanks doc

How else am I gonna play Super Deep Throat?

I haven't seen a flash porn site in a very long time. Porn sites tend to lead, not to follow, so this switch happened a very long time ago for them.

it isn't even available for certain platforms anymore ffs
>oracle finally ports 64-bit netscape
>macromedia mislabels final version of flash player as being 64-bit
>still a 32-bit DLL

Yeah. Some porn games need it.

i remember back when i got a psp, porn websites were about the first to have psp-specific sites (which of course didn't use flash)
this was in ~2005

I have the offline portable version just for SDT.

no, just use the standalone executable

For Super Deepthroat

Some porn games require flash.

>install flash
>your PC can now be remotely hacked in 100+ different ways, without you ever knowing

You filthy HTML5 peasants that can't turn on a computer without getting malware will NOT take my SMBC.
The standalone projector is trash.

There's still some Flash games oriented websites around. What's gonna happen to them?

There's no containerized js/html5 replacement for swf so the death of flash means a return to the published web rather than the days where you could share a single file on boards like /f/
The shits at Google that ruin everything they touch aren't going to make a standard but maybe they'll accidentally make it possible to sandbox things and we can make our own.

it is for streaming pron

All flash games websites are kill?

I cannot uninstall it. Nothing works. I never installed it in the first place. I tried everything: using their (((uninstaller))), using powershell to brute Force uninstall, taking ownership of some folders so I can delete them.... Disable browsers flash... Nothing works, fucking flash player (32 bit) keep installed on my system

bluemaxima.org/flashpoint/

The FlashPoint Project started archiving a huge amount of Flaash/Shockwave/ActiveX/SilverLight/etc. Content a while ago...the downloadable archive is currently at 114GB (~14,000 games and 300 animations)

Ah, so flash games that need to sync with a server somewhere in China will not be there right?

Supporting VMware servers

Only the ones that the team is able to crack. They figured it out with a surprising amount of games that have that server-side BS, but stuff like PopCap games and whatnot, not much hope.

Yes only for sfw files.
Just have an offline browser run flash games.

No, flash was pretty much everywhere on corporate websites until the iPhone came along. Within 2 years it was dead.
