Those shitty electrical scooters are a thing in my city too

>those shitty electrical scooters are a thing in my city too

Yikes, now you'll have to trespass to retrieve them, fags :D Remember, if you see this garbage littering the streets, make sure to dispose of them.

imagine being a low iq westener and not being able to control violent impulses, holding society back

Companies abusing lack of regulations is what's holding society back. Public spaces are not there for storing your trash.

I wonder, what must it be like being black? Is it like having a constant headache blocking out all higher thought?

how the fuck are they even bothering you? what is wrong with them? you literally just threw a tantrum over a fucking scooter.

they actually have much higher self-esteem and are typically not able to even realize their own low IQ failings, instead blaming the rest of the world when things go wrong

>abusing lack of regulations

Go starve in a committed country you humongous faggot

>how are things just dropped in the middle of a sidewalk bothering you

>sure bro go ahead
wow you sure told 'em

>just shit up society even more to show em who's boss lol

>taking an extra step around it is too much energy
You do know the foreman is just going to place them back right. Imagine ruining a kids fun because you like to hate popular things.

This is what happens when you get African blood mixed in.

california is the maybe the most beautiful and perfect place to live in the world in terms of climate, geography, terrain, etc
but it's absolutely ruined by the people who live there. holy shit I fucking hate california. there are still really nice parts and the wealth here is incredible, but all the shitty poor people fucking up society make it absolutely miserable.

Can't you just stay in the nice parts?

...

you can but if you want to work a job or have to be in the city you usually have to deal with the shitty stuff. the nice parts are small suburbs or small cities and most of the jobs are in the big cities. the nice areas are completely unobtainable in terms of cost unless you're wealthy or have a weird job that lets you live there.

>based
>cringe

Yes, for $6+k/month rent.

I live in a Mexican shithole barrio in the bay area and I pay $4k/mo for rent.

How much does a typical ride cost on these things?

>not salvaging parts from the scooter to sell on ebay

>Imagine ruining a kids fun
It's not ruining a kid's fun. These are rented scooters you can just leave wherever once your rental time is up. The business model is to leave them fucking everywhere so you can always pull up the app and grab one from nearby.
The problem is, they're fucking EVERYWHERE. It's goddamn litter in the streets and on the sidewalks, and people who use them get hurt and hurt others constantly.
It would be fine if there were dedicated stations and lanes for them. If you had to drop your rental into a station to stop charges the people wouldn't just dump them in the middle of the sidewalk. Actually, that would be pretty awesome. No litter and far less risk of being run down by a retarded scooter user. But as it is, it's just companies profiting heavily from abusing a lack of laws around these things in US cities.

Like 15 cents a minute.

lmao, based autist. bikers too are filth!

Going bananas over stupid thing like this is what separates low IQ niggers from high IQ people.

>I live in a Mexican shithole barrio in the bay area and I pay $4k/mo for rent.
Imagine being so boring that exaggeration is now second nature to you

You ride them on sidewalk, regardless of your state laws, because driving on public road with speed limiter is dangerous.

Attached: 1555890784760 (1).png (500x778, 55K)

why dont you keep the batteries on the scooter?

There are many reasons.
- I'm lazy. Ninebot is very bad design for tuning (and bad design in general, which is exactly why I had removed stock dangerous ECU in first place), and I don't want to disassemble it one more time. It is not E-TWOW (or E-TWOW copy), which can be completely disassembled in under 1 minute. Also, it has no place to mount the battery, except stock in steering bar, and stock battery won't work with my ECU (needs another BMS).
- Safety. Those are Housefire™ brand batteries. Getting fireball from bag is much easier, than having steering column exploding. Also, you can park one outside and nobody will nigg it, since it looks sketchy and it doesn't ride without battery at all.
- Having battery in backpack is beneficial, when you're sidewalk riding, which don't have wheelchair ramps, since that 1 kg is pretty important.

>if you see this garbage littering the streets, make sure to dispose of them.
BASED. It’s *my* street that I paid for with my taxes. If I’m not getting a cut, I’m sure as hell not allowing a private company to profiteer off my infrastructure.

Would you allow someone to run a business out of your garden for free? Why would you allow them to do it off your streets? Pay up or fuck off.

Holy
BASED

Just complain to your city. These things are unsafe and need to be federally regulated anyhow, just like uber and Lyft and all these other shitty transportation start ups.

There's already an /n/ on destroying these things

But apparently you can hack them which is a better idea.

...

Tfw you know this would never happen in your country since if someone did try it all of scoters would be stollen and their gps removed or at the very least they would be straight up vandalised

>le epic 'Perfectly functional, useful things are trash because I don't like where people parked them'

The profit model is literally to dump them everywhere and not care about cleaning up. It's antisocial.

question: If you start pushing one of those things while Off.does the Motor generate Energy which damages the Scooter?

I got myself one that does 70 km/h, illegal as fuck where I live, but it's a fun and convenient way to get around.

You're one of those "DIE TECHIE SCUM" losers.

Attached: 1509868413240.gif (320x240, 52K)

Thoughts on bus companies?

The motor will generate energy but this won't damage the scootr unless you were to drag it behind a car. You can't possibly put enough energy into it to burn the shunt.

>get scooter for travel
>still use the bus

Bus companies pay a registration fee to operate on public roads. They also pay plenty in fuel taxes (which are often earmarked for road maintenance) as well.

>cars turn cities into giant parking lots and smoggy shitholes
>ah yes, electric scooters must be the problem

t. uncle bill

Attached: n0dn7l21w3l11.png (585x585, 164K)

Those scooter companies pay taxes too. I guess it's okay to play as long as they suck enough government dick.

Cars are required because US city public transit is boners. The first one to just fucking ban them and put in light rail on all the streets with a small scooter lane and scooters available at each stop will enter a period of transportation enlightenment. You could even charge less if you check in your scooter at a station that doesn't have many or take a scooter from one that's full or nearly full to prevent availability balancing issues. There is so much potential here.
But just dumping scooters all over the goddamn place isn't making anything better.

It's a learning process.

That is subway, and scooter isn't suitable for 40+ km every day. Hills are too steep, I'd need like 2kW, which is possible, but I would need second motor, and for more speed I need higher voltage, and this gets more expensive than some 1990's Toyota, that still works.
Can't wait getting all papers needed (being foreigner sucks) for driving license, actually.

>These things are unsafe and need to be federally regulated

Attached: Don't Tread on Me.png (2000x1333, 201K)

these would be more useful round here if they had small 25cc engines
>rent one
>battery is less than 50% full
>find three others
>one is dead
>the other two also have low battery

that is, as a back-up power source. there's only one or two filling stations there anyway

>Shitty company does shitty things with a promising technology
>Technology gets banned by retards who can't see beyond their nose
>Sets us back a decade or five on use of the technology
Yeah okay everything is great.

Are they paying taxes though? As far as I know none of these scooter rental businesses actually make any profit, thus pay no corporate tax. And I am not sure if they are paying any sort of registration tax like larger vehicle operators have too.

If the batteries blow up in your bag you're fucking dead m8. You wouldn't be able to get the bag off and toss it away before your shirt was on fire.

They pay taxes too user.

>They pay taxes too user.
Irrelevant. They can use the roads but not profit off it without additional fees for that use.
As you said, I pay taxes too. Can I start propping up lemonade stands or burrito vans in any sidewalk I like without a fee?

>Thoughts on bus companies?
Bus companies, as well as heavy vehicles like trucks etc., pay extra taxes for the increased wear and tear they cause to the infrastructure, as well as the fact that they’re using the infrastructure for profit. I’m fine with that.

Think of it like this. Say you have an airport, which is public of course. If you wanna do business in it (open a Subway), you pay rent and actually a steep one. Because you’re using public infrastructure, and also that very infrastructure creates customer traffic. So obviously the infrastructure provides lots of value, and you have to pay specifically for it, to exploit this value for profit.
What the scooter companies do, is like me setting up a stand inside the airport and selling my wares/services with no other fees/licenses, apart from “lol public airport, I pay my taxes”.

I dunno about the US, but in Norway, where I live, people are throwing a hissy fit over these scooters littered all over the streets. The city of Oslo has issued "guidelines" but there is still no real regulation of these companies. Like someone else pointed out in this thread, we'll most likely see a complete ban of the scooters due to the startups not showing any responsibility.

Attached: 1558038777612.png (384x373, 148K)

I'm professional.

Batteries are inside box like pic related, which is pretty thick, and fire resistant.
If they fail while you're riding, you will feel it, since scooter suddenly would go way slower.
If they fail while you're charging, you can trash entire thing outside.
Charging voltage is lowered for safety and longevity (40.5V vs 42V). Regenerative brake is disabled too, since it doesn't give much energy back, while it shortens battery lifespan significantly.
Batteries are fused, and they have BMS (cheap chink shit on tl431 which doesn't do overcurrent, but it does under and over voltage)

Also, Lithium Ion batteries actually burn slowly. They explode like fireworks only when they are charged above 4.3V. I have poked couple 18650s and Li-po pouches, which didn't even catch fire.

Attached: a0150170009_perspective.jpg (600x434, 17K)

I have been thinking... I can cast batteries in gypsum. I used gypsum to cast keychain thing from tin-lead alloy, so shit is good, survived blowtorch and such, plus is a good insulator

they never asked my city, they just appeared and were dumped into the streets of dow town

based ca hippie tech city banned them within days and it's coincidentally also still safe to be on the sidewalks

>Can I start propping up lemonade stands or burrito vans in any sidewalk I like without a fee?
If you live in a free country, like America, yes.

if only you could have thrown them into lava, OP

Who is going to pay for your "transportation enlightenment" idea? Mass transit systems in general cost a lot more money to move people around than cars & roads do.

Attached: Screenshot_20190307-195951_Lightning_1.jpg (1440x2318, 302K)

>cattle transport
>subsidies that high
>but /n/ will keep talking "muh cagers took ur roadz and shinkansens"

That reeks of bullshit. If data from pic is real it was probably funded by the auto or gas industry.

That pic contradicts itself. Airplanes and airports cost more than trains and rails. The fuel for an airplane costs way more as well, since rail transportation is basically the most efficient way to move things, and you can fit more people on a train. Yet you expect me to believe an airplane beats rail by nearly a factor of four? There is something fucky about that, and it's probably that corrupt and incestuous government involvement have made rail companies and public transit bloated. Rail should be the cheapest by quite a bit.

This is not fucking impossible. Other countries manage to do it.

lmao i remember going insane and thowing like four of them in a dumpster once

>Airplanes and airports cost more than trains and rails.
Yes, airplanes are expensive, because they are complex money making machines.
If they weren't profitable - aviation would not exist.
> The fuel for an airplane costs way more as well
Not really. Kerosene costs nearly as much as benzine or diesel.
>since rail transportation is basically the most efficient
Typical train transports air 60% of the time. (Rush hour - only one direction is full, other is empty, so it is 50%. Now add off-peak hours)
> and you can fit more people on a train.
You don't need to fit more people you commie. You need to minimize fuel consumption per passenger.
A320Neo. 44 metric tons + 20 metric tons of fuel. That is 64 metric tons or weight. It can carry 195 pax. So it is 328 kilo/pax.
Siemens Desiro (Russian variant, they use it in MCC, interurban, so it is dense). 260 tons per train, 450 pax. That is 500 kilo/pax. If you consider empty trains, that is well above 1000 kilo/pax, which is not efficient at all.
More weight = more losses on friction. More losses on friction = higher fuel consumption (yes, electricity is generated from gas, coal, rarely nuclear or solar)
Sure, airplane goez fastah, but for some reason it manages to make nice 2.5 liters / 100 km. Those figures are impossible on train.
Bus, btw, is more efficient. 20 tons of steel can transport 70-ish pax, which is about 285 kilo/pax, which is lower than airplane. Which makes sense, since you can actually have profit from buses.
>Yet you expect me to believe an airplane beats rail by nearly a factor of four?
I expect you to use common sense and realize quickly, that airlines are business, while trains are usually ran by government, which suggests that one if profitable, and another one is not, because nobody is going to use hobo-can for triple the cost of car, so government pays 50-80% of real ticket from tax money.
> There is something fucky abo
Europoors not seing price of free healthcare and public transport.

Fuck off. Just take a few extra steps instead of getting into an autistic fit of rage and throwing someone else's possession God knows where.

Now kiss and leave Jow Forums forever, you utter excuse for a human being.

It's the possession of a faceless corporation who holds the policy of "better to ask for forgiveness than permission". Since the machines are abandoned litter, technically they should just be thrown in a dumpster.

Trains are more efficient. You're going on about weigh per passenger but that's not a valid measurement. Planes use shitloads of energy to climb and keep themselves in the air. They have a large aerodynamic cross section because they need it for control surface authority. They weigh very little because that's a design requirement for getting in the sky with a full fuel and passenger load, and weight doubly hurts their efficiency because they need to lift and thrust themselves.
Trains roll steel on steel or float on maglev. The resistance is astonishingly low even for steel, and the aerodynamic cross section can be extremely small.
Still, airplanes are pretty efficient. More efficient than non-electric car travel for sure at 91 per passenger mpg of fuel, or 904 kJ/passenger-kilometer. So what do trains get? In the US because we're just so shit at it, they get 1.6MJ/pk. But in Japan they get 92kJ/pk. That's on maglev so it's kinda cheating, but the Basel international rail system in Switzerland still manages 150kJ/pk. Rail is very efficient, and you can power rail on nuclear, hydro, solar, wind, etc. You cannot yet fly on electric, and with batteries being so heavy and not getting lighter through a flight, I think it will be some time before you see electric passenger aircraft of note.
I'm not really concerned about long distance high speed rail though. I care about short distance city travel more since that's where cars clog shit up like crazy. Primitive trolley busses manage 320kJ/pk, and you could do much better. The maligned scooters in this thread are actually phenomenal here for the literal last mile at a miniscule 40kJ/km.
>trains are usually ran by government
>nobody is going to use hobo-can
They're fine in Japan. Why can't we also have nice things in our dense cities?
>Europoors not seing price of free healthcare and public transport.
Our healthcare and trains are just more expensive than theirs. The reason is flat out corruption.

>Since the machines are abandoned litter, technically they should just be thrown in a dumpster.
What abandoned litter? Someone was using that scooter for transport. Don't know what that first part was about.

last month my city dredged a few dozen of these out of the river, i wonder how many more are required for the companies to abort and fuck off lmao

>Don't know what that first part was about.

It's blind hate towards corporations.

Adelaide?

nope, but i'm not surprised if it's a common story, people hate these fucking scooters

those basedbikes are a scourge. they're everywhere and people leave them out in the middle of the street and parking lots.

and the brainlets that use them have no common sense or respect for traffic law. i've even seen idiots riding those scooters on highways.

thus i always carry a multi-tool with me and each time an opportunity appears, i snip the wires of those basedbikes.

Very fucking true. You could even completely side step chargers by implementing wireless charging "scooter stops". where people could just leave scooters that are under 50% charge..

At some point there might also be self driving scooters which would solve the availability / litter problem.

>hey lets put obstacles all around the city for the blind people to trip over

>city gets electric scooters that are "environment friendly"
>"you can rent them for commuting and you're helping the environment by not using your car"
