Nope

if you want non-beta drivers on launch day

if you're doing machine learning research. but who am I kidding, this is Jow Forums

If you want to support Huang.

>cheapest 2070 is around $700aud with an aftermarket cooler
>cheapest 5700xt is around $630 aud with a shitty blower
>2070s just around the corner launching with normal fans

all amd had to do was give us something better than their blowshit design and my purchasing decision would be a no brainer

Only reasons to grab a 2070 are
>don't want to buy a house fire
>don't want to deal with AMD's crappy drivers
If you don't mind/care for those two things the 5700xt is clearly the better value product, and once the custom cards start coming out next month with actual thermals over shitty blowers then it's really down to whether or not you're ok with putting up with AMD's crappy drivers

More like with the rx 5700 coming out is there a reason to buy anything else?

Yes, 5700XT is at least full Navi and has a better chance at sustaining 60fps on ultra settings 1440p

I sell products using ray traced content. I still need to buy RTX.

>Nvidia with Linux
Ew no, AMD all the way.

The pricing in australia is completely fucking retarded, so much so that I can see some of the retailers opting not to stock the S series at all, at least not until they sell their remaining 60/70 stock. There's quite literally no gaps where either the 60s or 70s can sit right now.

Most probably, yes, but i find the 5700xt to be a less compelling product against the 2070/2060s than the 5700 is against the 2060. When choosing the 5700 over the 2060, you "lose" the rtx memecores, but you get an extra 2GB of vram, more bandwidth and better performance. The 5700xt is a tougher sell, as it doesn't offer as much over the 2060s/2070 outside of performance.

Good drivers.

When has Nvidia pricing not been complete shit in Australia?

It takes a while to catch up, however the cheapest 2070 on partpicker atm is 630 AUD with no tax, and our prices all include 10% tax. So, with equivalent tax, it's 696 for the cheapest in the US using partpicker, and 685 in Australia for the cheapest using staticice.

US with +10% tax (to make equivalent to Australian prices, since tax included in AUS) is $631.6 AUD atm due to our dollar shitting itself and the cheapest in Australia is $629. There isn't really any price discrepancy at the moment.

wtf is that dent, was this shit dropped

Only as much as the GCN architecture was dropped on its head when it was still a baby.

Im just waiting for confirmation that the supers will be launched with a $50-100aud premium, just like the 5700/xt

If nothing else maybe this will squeeze out even better deals on standard 2060 models

Noise levels? Raytracing? CUDA support?

5700xt will be a strong seller if you don't care.

I'm holding out... probably until mid-2020ish for Nvidia 7nm. I get this distinct feeling that high end AMD 7nm is gonna get btfo. I just want a video card to play cyberpunk2077 on my 4k TV and every option right now is shit.

thats smart but im really tired of my 2gb 960

There has never been a reason to buy a 2070. The 2070 is this generation's 1060 6gb replacement and it's insanely overpriced for what it is. Buy a 2070 super or a 5700xt instead

price difference between the 5700 xt and the 2070 is like 20 dollars for me

Not unless you want gay-tracing™

get the 5700xt and undervolt it
or spend a bit more on the 2070 super if you really want rtx (it's shit and it won't get any better until at least the 3xxx series)

Yeah I'm on polaris so it's easier for me. I'm just playing at 1080p now and will play at 4x the resolution later.

It's a pretty reasonable time to upgrade for you.

is it worth having to deal with the shit drivers
ive had some bad experiences with AMD GPUs

We /v/ now, get with the times gramps.
