Daily reminder that Lennart Poettering didn't do nothing wrong.
If there was a better alternative to systemd we'd all be using it. Widespread adoption of it is just a proof of it's quality and the lack of thereof in other projects.
Year of the Linux desktop won't happen. Year of the GNU/Linux/systemd/PulseAudio/Wayland will.
never cared a lot desu but i like systemd when i have to use it what i dont like is how it takes over a lot of side stuff too iiuc is it hard for distros to only use it for init and very closely related tasks?

>If there was a better alternative to systemd we'd all be using it. >Widespread adoption of it is just a proof of it's quality and the lack of thereof in other projects. Shitty fallacy. That's like saying "Windows is more popular, therefore it must be good."
Hunter Bailey
It's pronounced "Wayland"

Daily reminder that glowniggers had to kill Debian’s founder to get systemd into the distro.

He did plenty wrong. There's also a lot he did right. I agree with some but not all of it. I kind of like systemd. He is unpopular with some people because he actually has a vision for Linux which he is working towards. Naturally it doesn't align with everyone's opinion but of course that's impossible anyway.
Colton Peterson
This is that Jow Forums trap, isn't it.
Camden Watson
Because it is. You contrarian autists reeeeeeeing here, in the only corner of the Internet where you haven't been chased out for your psychosocial defects, doesn't change this.
Jow Forums could write a book about window's flaws and areas where it's inferior to GNU+Linux. Likewise there are entire websites dedicated to criticizing systemd.

It is not what he do, it is what he doesn't do which is fix the damn thing.

It is didnt do anything wrong, not didnt do nothing wrong. your argument is now rendered useless
Jayden Roberts
systemd was forced to early and because of that causes problems, now being haphazardly fixed it only adds more problems

>Widespread adoption of it is just a proof of it's quality I guess Windows is quality software too since it's so popular huh

Wow, sounds a lot like every piece of software I've ever worked on.
>He is unpopular with some people because he actually has a vision for Linux which he is working towards. sure... but most of those visions go agains what linux has preached (and what made it linux) in the last 30 years
