What is your definition of relatively cheap?

As in price? I'deally sub-$50 but would possibly spend up to $100.

look for btc dome with sliders user
they are comfy as fuck

Logitech wireless is the way to go

> Dell L100

Pic related is a Keytron mem keryboard. They cae with HP Vectra machines. I have one and the quality build of those old keyboards it's pretty good. They feel a little bit heavier, but the typing it's very comfy.

You're going to want mechanical if you don't want it feeling cheap. Membrane keyboards gotta membrane.

What I did was keep an eye out for keyboards on FB Marketplace and Kijiji (basically Canadian Craigstlist), and found a decent one. Backlit (although each row has a predetermined colour), mechanical (although chink ripoff blues), and works nicely for $40.

Pretty satisfied with my purchase, check out used keyboards OP.

Your local Goodwill.

Get one of those mechanical keyboards where the switches are not soldered but just pressed on. That way it's fast and easy to just buy more switches and replace them to get the exact feel you want. That's what I did.

I have some lenovo membrane keyboard that is pretty nice.

I paid Red backlit btw

I have one of those so called "kalibur gaming" keyboard things, one of the ones with the aluminum faceplate. It's a rubber dome with sliding keys that sorta looks like a mechanical keyboard and it will tell the computer that it is one but it's a fucking liar. As far as keyboards go it's just not bad, but I do like how I can press left control while holding my fingers on WASD. It was $35 or so.

Sorry forgot to mention that was $40 CAD so significantly less than USD.

Logitech k280e might be just what you need.
>membrane
>quiet keys
>sturdy and heavy
>won't fall apart under a year of use
>under $30

I got it like 2 years ago and I'm super happy with it.

Just get a cheap chink mechanical one

Is there something like this that is still being made? The Chicony KB-2971 is one I like but they stopped making those 5 or 6 years ago.

this $10 chink piece of shit made me give up on mechanicals. it's nothing amazing, maybe it just fits my tastes well for some reason, but it's great. sturdy, no squeaks, no shitty soft plastic feel, key height is just right. got one for home, one for work, threw away my crappy mech, never looked back

i'm not going to recommend one because you are an idiot

>t. asshurt mechanical bugman offended that someone isn't validating his shitty purchasing habits

Mine squeaked to no end

Used Microsoft Sidewinder X4.

> threw away my crappy mech
Which one was it? Because out of all modern ones this one is the only one I can genuinely recommend.

Anyonehave any experience with pic related? It's a Speedlink Alare. I quite like the layou and feel pretty comfortable with scissor switches, as long as they have decent travel ~1.8mm.
