Computer chairs

this is Jow Forums related enough, right? have to stay comfortable when you sit at the computer all day.

My shitty $99 amazon chair's arm just broke off after a couple months and i realized i shouldn't take shortcuts on something that i use so much.

I'm thinking about getting an Aeron, there's someone selling a bunch of them near me on craigslist for $360 flat, I'm assuming from some failed hipster start-up company, but also i can get it new online for $520 + shipping and taxes.

Waffle is that you ?

>$360
ouch
i payed $150 for my used aeron

not me, sorry

where did you find a deal that good? local? i'm looking around but i dont want someones really used sweaty cracked chair, the ones from this office look like theyre in pretty great condition and they have the posturefit add-on. would be nice to save a bit more money though.

got it from an office just like you

National Office Interiors & Liquidators.

Gitchu a Leap. Ask for the cheaper FedEx shipping.

>tfw even used Aerons are 600+ in your country

Leap v2 with headrest

I got my aeron for free when an office building was throwing out all their inventory. A bunch of adjustable desks, HAG Capiscos and various office stuff was just up for grabs. It has some scratches and stuff and is plain black plastic, but can't complain desu. So try to look around for co-working spaces or office buildings doing renovation

is it worth stealing aeron if you are a low to mid level thief and broke?

I've had an Aeron for 5 years now and I feel like they're overrated. I'm 5'8" and ergonomically, it just doesn't do it for me. I'm constantly shifting around because I'm uncomfortable in it. The build quality is fucking incredible though. It's built like a tank.

I think I'm gonna sell mine and get one of these

I sat in one at a local furniture store and it's crazy comfy.

Sorry I can’t hear your poorfags over my Steelcase Gesture that I bought new at full price.

>user at work gets a humanscale chair
>Feels amazing
>But costs over a thousand dollars
Aaaahhhh

iktf

>tfw got a used aeron for $150
it doesn't feel that amazing desu, certainly not a gift directly from heaven like some claim it to be

Is the Autonomous Ergochair any good?

IKEA Markus is a decent baseline standard
I've got old (second hand) Steelcase that cost me like 20.

What is the difference between office chair and gaming chair? Which one is more comfortable when playing the game?

don't leave work then

Gaming chair with RGB lighting

don't get a steelcase think; they are shit

If you're someone like me who crosses their legs, Aeron is very uncomfortable. They are like $200-300 used on Craigslist.

I got some local artisan office chair. said it would be amazing. all i got was a flimsy piece of hardware and no where to complain cos the shop was bankrupt.

now i'm looking for something good, but all i'm seeing is these expensive chairs like aeron and steecase.

isn't there something basic with adjustable armrests?

that seems incredibly lucky considering their usual retail, but i am in LA so i guess it's possible. not sure how i'd even come across that though

that does look pretty nice and the price is reasonable, i'll do a little more research into it. I went straight to Herman Miller because it's a trusted brand and the cheapest available option from said brand, but i'm sure there's a lot of options better than my shitty amazon chair.

interesting, i do sometimes cross my legs on my chair. just too small of a base or what? I'm also fairly short though so i don't have too much leg to take up room lmao

what's a chair where the foam or mesh doesn't FUCKING squash down into nothingness over time?

>My shitty $99 amazon chair's arm just broke off

>2019
>still uses a chair with arms on it lol

gaming chairs are cheap shit made to appeal to children

Dunno man. I'm okay with my Metta Samurai

Do not cheap out on a chair.

Do not buy some gamer racer garbage because they are overpriced.

Use a real ergo chair - Herman Miller, Humanscale, Steelcase etc. Buy from a used office furniture warehouse etc...to save a fortune. Companies upgrade or startups fail meaning lots of expensive chairs available cheap.

God emperor of them all is Lifeform. Expensive but the very best ergo chairs I've seen short of 5 figure recumbent workstations

This, also get one with Bluetooth speakers built in.

Are you prepared to pay? No foam will not squash a little over years , but Lifeform has the best foam I've ever seen. It's even temperature controlling. After a decade or two you want to have the foam refreshed? They'll upgrade it for you!

I have an ultimate executive with upgraded cooling foam. It's fantastic. Runs about 2K usd fully loaded , more if you want to pay for aesthetic things like leather. If you have cats get cloth . Anything else get Brisa.

If you have cats get the steelcase leap instead. They will tear the mesh.

Got a new Aeron this week. So fucking worth it's money, holy shit.

>Sit in chair
>Fly away

POING

399. All I'm gonna say.

and that's a great price

keep an eye out for Herman Miller mirras. They are nearly as good as the aeron but less well-known so it's easier to find them for good prices. Paid $175 for a fully loaded Mirra 2 a couple years ago and have had no issues with it.

Thinking of getting the Ikea Markus because I hear it's the best chair around $200 and I can remove the armrests. Definitely won't get the pleather because that shit will always crumble and crack.

Humanscale freedom. If you don't want a hard back get the mesh one. Unlike the crap aerons the frame does not come into contact with ur legs. I don't like the arms of the mesh one tho so I prefer the freedom chair.

2500$ in my country. Bought mine used for 1300$. It's the most expensive thing I've ever bought. There's just one seller in the entire country so they allow themselves to set the price so high.

I bought mine for $200 CAD, it was from some 30 year old lady, you bet I got a good sniff of the seat before I used it.

I had one for two years, got my wife one. If you are an average height male and average weight you'll fit in it just fine. if you are any lower than 5'10'' your head wouldnt rest on the the cushion at the very top but I don't think it's a big deal.

What's the point of sniffing mesh.

A hope and a dream

lmao yall are crazy i just use my basic ass kitchen chair

RIP your back

Yeah I'm 5'9" so it probably won't be perfect. I did find the Ikea JÄRVFJÄLLET which looks about the same except with a lot more adjustment options so I might go for that instead.

Anyone know a good reclining desk chair? I really just want to be able to sleep at my desk.

All I can ever find for a "decent" price is genuine gamer pleather RGB chairs, and tilt chairs that are just tagged as reclining.

>sleep at my desk
dont do that, anything you do at your desk will then be similar to that of your bed.
>you won't get anything done

only fat gamers want this shit so thats the market youre a part of

How much are these new? My office has literally hundreds, if not over a thousand, of these.

I'm 183cm and if I sit up straight the bottom of the cushion is on my neck.
After a year the pleather seat is still as new

Like a grand

depends on the add-ons and features, and i'm sure companies get some kind of bulk discount, but generally $1000+ from HM. the stock one is like $1200

OP, go sit on an Aeron before buying one. I had one at work and honestly was not a huge fan.

It might work out for you and it might not, but don't take the word of a random person.

How do get a decent setup for multiple large screen monitors Jow Forums?

Right now I have a GAMING table and a GAMING chair. The table because I needed something with more width, and normal office tables are designed for laptops or small desktops. And I didn't want a kitchen table because they always feel awkward to use in both design and actual dimensions.
I have 2 27 inch monitors and just no room on smaller tables if I want them and literally anything else on there.

I have my shitty racecar chair or whatever they're called. Because it's pretty comfy and cheaper than office chairs oddly enough. But it still feels a hit uncomfortable and I want max comfy.

What do you guys recommend? I'm willing to go up to $1000 on it, maybe more if necessary but I'd rather keep it under that.

Attached: 20190519_185517.jpg (491x354, 75K)

>used chair
fucking disgusting

What exactly are your issues or rather, what do you want?

I want a good sized table I can fit multiple monitors on and keyboard, and still have room for other shit like drawing. And it stands high enough off the ground I can kick my chair up and not have to touch the ground, without hitting my knees against the bottom (this part would just be nice, but still needs to be decent height). Rigjt now I have enough room for my two monitors and keyboard. But lack room for much else and it's pretty cramped together. The only other options I saw on amazon were full on giant office tier things, which feels excessive and much for my 2 room apartment.

And I'd just like a comfy chair. The office chairs at work are okay, but they're kinda small and feel more practical rather than relaxing. The one I have now is decent, but it feels kinda meh. I dont have problems with it, but I dont love it either. I want something I can come to and feel like I'm being fucked by clouds.
