>State budget & CURRENCY
>Post at least some attempt at a parts list
>List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
>For monitors, include purpose (e.g., photoediting, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable)

CPUs based on current pricing:
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming
>R3 2200G - Light 30-60fps gaming (dGPU optional).
>R5 2600 - Good 60fps+ gaming CPU; great value
>R5 3600 - midrange; good for all but the absolute highest end GPUs
>R7 3700X/9900k - Overkill FPS for most GPU/monitor pairings
>R9 3900X - Gaming+Streaming/Extreme Productivity.

RAM:
>Do not use a single DIMM. 2 sticks ONLY for a typical dual channel CPU
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 3200CL16 minimum
>AMD B & X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP

Graphics cards based on current pricing:
1080p
>RX 570/580 8GB - Can be found on sale for cheap. Look for 570s which are >1240MHz boost
>GTX 1660 - higher fps / more demanding games
>RX 5700 - even higher FPS
1440p
>RX 5700 - 75-100fps+ in most games. Wait for 5700 XT non-blower cards for higher end
>RTX 2080ti - Highest possible FPS, but poor value
2160p (4K)
>RTX 2070 Super OC - budget option. Turing performance scales better into 4K than Navi does.
>2080Ti - best for 4K but expensive

>Wait for non-blowers if considering the 5700 XT. 5700 blower is fine and comparable to 2060S noise levels, due to being low power.

General:
>PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING
>Yes, adaptive sync (freesync) is important
>A 256GB+ SSD is almost mandatory; consider m.2 form factor
>NVMe don't give faster boot/load times than a fast SATA SSD
>"Bottleneck checker" sites don't work
>Don't use Speccy, use hwinfo instead

First for anime is for incels

I'll build my second ever gaming PC. Is a 3600 worth it over a 9400f (only for games, I won't do anything else)? Which is better for overclocking (never did that) and emulation?

Attached: 320430439034.gif (500x281, 104K)

R5 3600 + 2060 Super MSI Ventus vs 5700XT Reference? Assume 5700XT is $30 cheaper.

3600 is better you don't really need to OC it just activate PBO and the cpu does the rest, people seem to have really good results with the new ryzen and emulation

Forgot, it's for 1440p75.
And I can't WaitTM, it's not for me.

Will be in a well ventilated case though.

would wait the 3-4weeks until custom coolers for the xt come out, but you can buy a 2060s if you really want it now to the difference super big.

When are retailers going to start getting 2060/2070 Super?

isnt* super big I wanted to say

It's for my brother, I already told him to wait until Ryzen/Navi for a month but I don't think he cares that much now.

Oh, really? So it's just something you activate and you're good? Cool.

XT is faster but noisier

Is getting the most up to date mobo for 3000 series going to net you that much of a performance increase if youre gonna run it at stock?
Or can I get a b450 mobo and still be just fine

pcpartpicker.com/list/jdxbWD
r8 my rig
don't need gpu, mobo has one built right in

Attached: rig.png (1046x536, 56K)

im switching from intel/nvidia to AMD/AMD, have my 3600X, X570 and soon a 5700 XT on the way

Attached: 1562863274245.jpg (334x334, 88K)

You can just buy a used i5 complete pc off ebay for $100 and throw a 1050ti in it for $250 instead

Nice, tell us how the house fire goes my man

>Corsair Hydro Series H150i PRO
>Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Series 16 Go (2x 8 Go) DDR4 3200 MHz CL16
>Seagate BarraCuda 4 To (ST4000DM004)
>Corsair RM750x 80PLUS Gold
>Corsair Crystal 570X RGB
>MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS
>AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Wraith Prism LED RGB (3.6 GHz / 4.4 GHz)
>Samsung SSD 860 EVO 1 To
>MSI GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GAMING X TRIO

Any idea how to optimize this build performance/looks wise ? What about the HDD, should I get a second one or just more To ? Is that RAM good enough ? I plan to build it in 2 weeks for work and gaming, wants it to be fresh for a few years. Thanks for the help!

Nice

Do we have any eta on when zen2 bios will be fully fixed?

Ok so I just upgraded my Ryzen 1600 to a 3600.

My Samsung 960 m.2 drive couldnt be recognised by the motherboard after the cpu swap. I dont feel its the bios update as ive been running that for about 2 weeks with my old cpu and this drive in question.

I have put in an old m.2 drive (850 evo) and the pc has booted no problem. I just got a usb m.2 drive adaptor and the 960 reads just fine. So for some reason the motherboard wont identify it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

>rentry.co/pcbg-more
The "Graphics cards continued" part isn't clear at all. Some screeshots are duplicate (ASUS-GTX-1060-DUAL-OC-0007.jpg?ssl=1), and you should circle the part where we should look at on the screenshots.

as opposed to fermi?

PowerColor, XFX, or Sapphire for RX580?

You can't go wrong with Power Color or Sapphire. I've always preferred Sapphire. Their Nitro+ line is still the best.

whatever is cheapest in your region hand has 2+ fans

For negligible price difference, is it really worth it to get an NVME > SATA for pretty standard usage?
500GB Crucial MX500 is $95 AUD pickup (~$60 USD). 500GB Crucial P1 is $103 AUD shipped (~$65 USD).
The main thing I'd be interested in is the form factor and lack of cables that would be needed, if I'm being honest, but either would be a welcome upgrade over spinning rust desu.

I'm still holding strong with my 6700k however I've started having GPU bottlenecks when I jumped on 3440x1440 - my 1070 shits the bed. I wonder if it's worth to jump to 2070 super however I'm not super happy about the fact that it costs 150 bucks more than my 1070. Should I just wait till next gen or maybe give AMD a chance with 5700xt?

>Vega 64
>Sapphire VGA
>Macho HSF
I respect this.
>Corsair RMx PSU
>that RAM
>weeb shit
I'm indifferent about this.
>Asus Hero
>9400F
What the fuck is wrong with you?

yeah. I think you need an x570 mobo though

>9400F

Attached: 1333746826891.jpg (348x284, 49K)

Vega 64 is a retarded choice anyway. Retard could wait a single month and get 5700 for the same price.

Inteloddlers BTFO ahahahaha

Attached: 1549627217422.gif (500x281, 1.63M)

problems never existed you ignorant little shit. do literally anything other than repeat nonsense caused by retarded "reviewers"

>Upset with Nvidia for skyrocketing prices over last 3 years without competition
>Hyped for new Navi cards
>They scale like shit into 4k and 1440p
Radeon department can suck my cock desu.

gets worse the farther from megumin it goes

Is thermal throttling on M.2 NVMe drives an actual thing?

Enjoy the aneurysm from fitting that cooler.

Whats problem with ram? Samsung oem is very good.

>reddit confirms this
>retarded "reviewers" confirm this
>literally motherboard makers confirm this
But that ONE guy on /pcg/ says everything is fine.

>intel in 2019
based retard.

I bought this motherboard for 90$, why not?

I have a corsair force because I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the m.2 meme and yes it bloody is a thing. Downloading steam games and apps tends to take longer but installs are quicker. Games load 1 second faster and windows boots slightly faster. Don't know if it's worth it desu. The only good thing is less cable clutter. It gets to like 55 degrees or more during a gaming session too.

>9400f in 2019

nigga what are you doin

Attached: 1560399294240.jpg (300x300, 13K)

4k gayming or 1440p gayming?

Attached: 1562855797899.jpg (4048x3036, 2.11M)

Daily reminder, this is what Nvidia fags pay for

Attached: 1562889561186.jpg (2419x3226, 878K)

1440p

sapphire is THE Gold Standard

>PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING
So, uh, how do I pick a monitor? I don't even know what freesync is or the difference with gsync.

>vega 64
nigga please

Google

freesync/gsync is to match your monitor refresh rate with the GPU speed so no throtling/stuttering
freesync is for AMD
gsync is nvidia
they both de the same except freesync (amd) doesn't require extra hardware installed on the monitor so go for amd

I have a 3440x1444 monitor. Is it worth to sacrifice performance by buying 5700XT instead of 2070 Super for the freesync?

GN's 3700x results are quite different from everyone else's Anons who should I believe? Where in most games shown in other channel benchmarks it's a competitor to the 9700k/9900k whilst on GN it's barely scrapping past the 8700k.

Learn to read benchmarks. Moments where 3rd gen Ryzens beat Intel in gaming/single thread performance involve disabling SMT.

How long did it take Zen+ prices to drop originally?
Am interested in buying a 3600 over my 1300X, but ~$350 (NZD) is a little steep.

I assume one Amazon Prime day we will see zen+ be the cheapest its ever been. So maybe like 12 months.

Building a Mini ITX

Thoughts?

au.pcpartpicker.com/list/f3xbWD

It's a bit ricey but it'll see use for my work
Considering dropping the CPU down to the 3700X. I dunno if I need -that- much juice.

Checked the measurements and I'm 99% sure it all fits

Is this the best I can get?
Wanted features:
>1440p+
>IPS
>Freesync
>HDR
>Ultrawide
>10 Bit

The only problem with this one is that it has no proper HDR.
Is there anything better?

Attached: Screenshot_20190712-105526.png (1080x1920, 448K)

>Trying to shoehorn a shitty intel housefire into the OP
absolute cringe get rid of it fag

How did I do? Trying to keep the price under $1000. Already got the storage.

Attached: unknown.png (1185x612, 84K)

Sapphire 5700 XT is already out in my country for 450$ (cheaper than all the super RTX series, even the 2060s). Is sapphire any good? Or is it the stock AMD card? I don't know shit but it looks like a blower. I thought third party cards were out in August only.

>bulldozer
cringetier get a fucking 2200g poorfag

Horrible GPU. Get the RX 5700 instead of the RTX 2060. If you don't want a blower, you could wait a few weeks for AIB models with better cooling.

And I will get 5700XT to drive it.
Can't wait for AMD to be able into machine learning.

>motherboard costs more than the cpu
Well at least it will make sense once you upgrade into an unlocked one
>that ram
?
I like the rest

Get a better used CPU on eBay. Would really try and steer away from bulldozer.

the 2070 super is barely any faster than the 5700xt and $100 more

>intel cpu and vega
how retarded are you exactly

Steve is a complete retard and if his results differ from everyone else, believe everyone else

what's wrong with the 2060? also will the AIB ones with proper cooling cost around $350 when they launch?

the 5700 is faster and more efficent than the 2060/2060s

Did you just buy a brand new Vega when Navi is available for the same price or less. Also 9400f ISHYGDDT.

>what's wrong with the 2060?
Nothing really. /pcbg/ is AMD's greatest ally so anything other than AMD products is bad.

2060 performs worse than the 5700 and also only has 6GB of VRAM instead of 8GB. Decent 5700s might cost a little more than $350, but you can drop that CPU cooler if you're not planning on overclocking at all.

>what's wrong with the 2060
it is literally slower, less efficient, and more expensive than the 5700
Nvidia midrange cards are deprecated for gaming since navi came out

>implying this thread wasn't hardcore Intel last year
Did you just get here a few months ago or something?

what about the ray tracing meme?

>Did you just get here a few months ago or something?
I don't know, did you? I'm talking about a GPU, why are you talking about Intel?

AMD GPUs can do it anyway with general purpose compute units because they have so god damn many.

Yea but its LITERALLY SLOWER THAN THE 5700, even its refresh is slower

Attached: 5700_1.png (1359x1203, 59K)

The 2060 can barely even achieve an average 60 FPS at 1080p with ray tracing on, if it even can, and it will absolutely dip. Ray tracing is a meme.

It's also been hardcore Nvidia save for RX cards for absolute hobo builds, so welcome I guess.

>ray tracing meme?
you said it yourself, its a meme until consoles support it like most things in gaming

>asks about 2060
>posts 2060S
Truly, our greatest ally.

Just like hairworks, nobody cares.

2070s=5700xt>2070=5700>2060s>2060
What is hard to understand about this, if the 5700 is faster than the 2060s, then its way faster than the 2060 for the same price

>It's also been hardcore Nvidia
Because AMD cards have been garbage.

Anyone else having memory issues on the b450 Pro4 after updating to the latest BIOS? Seems like the speed/timing settings don't do anything for me anymore.

Using this logic everyone should be buying the 5700xt, but the real world isn't that convenient goy.

>shows the 5700 beating the 2060S
>durr he said 2060 amdrone
Nvidiot logic at work

Attached: tardo.png (1200x1359, 186K)

Nvme's are broken right now. Widespread issue
You have to wait for a BIOS update

And now they arent, welcome AMD back because Navi is better than turing

okay cool, I'm gonna wait for some 5700s that won't set my house on fire. thanks for the responses.

Attached: kinoface.png (502x528, 578K)

Then you do understand why AMD is preferred now but you're just angry about it.

>People don't make optimal price to performance purchases therefore no one should.

>AMD is preferred now
Oh yeah, I'm sure everyone is just going to buy AMD now. It's not like Nvidia still controls the market or anything.

Thanks. What GPU would you suggest instead for the 3600? I don't game that much but I don't want it bottlenecking it either.

So

NVME's are broken
Nvidia cards on X570 boards are causing conflicts
Memory is back to being unstable (some people can reach 3200mhz, some can't)

Anything else? What a shitfest.

Check amazons best sellers of new gpus, everyone is buying the 5700xt, No one wants the super refresh because its super shit, super overpriced and super inefficient

>unironically calling people goy while siding with Nvidia
holy shit
