I have been using Brave, but their meme-coin scheme becomes too intrusive for my tastes. I have also used Naked pro, but it doesn't block pop-ups and ads. What would be a good, more or less security-oriented browser for Android?
Also, I've tried DNS66, but it doesn't seem to be working properly for me.

You can't use startpage for the default search engine though. Only botnet ones.

True. Also, it doesn't really delete search history. I went to a web page and then "cleared history". Put the fist letter into the address bar and the supposedly deleted web page is the first result with complete address and even the icon.

Yep, even killed it from the "Apps and settings" menu. So far the only way to completely clear history is to delete all the data for the app.
I'm intrigued, but it's just not there yet. Might use private mode, though. At least they don't have the giant GNOME-like top panel anymore.
