I can't speak for others but I'm most likely getting one after finding the best option for an mATX motherboard. It's going to be for gaming and my GPU is Vega 64 which is probably not going to get replaced in a while.

ORANGE LOGO BAD
BUY INTEL

B450M mortar, or whatever x570m mobo you find. END OF STORY

Enjoy your motherboard fan.

put any zen 2 on x470 and you get none of the early adopter issues with all of the performance

So you recommend MSI as a brand? Previously some anons have said MSI is bad.

not sure why they say it's bad
their B450 stuff is good value and their bios has voltage offset now

get a good backup of all your data just in case m8

Pretty much just that part of the bios. Msi is known for alot of flair but ultimately cheap products and buggy beta software. For mobos their vrm are cheaply designed but have good heatsinks so they actually work well.

msi b450 matx boards can be pretty solid, double check the VRMs and if it has bios flashback before buying.
the asrock x570 matx board looks like it has shit VRM but it's the only matx board that's being produced.
the gigabyte x570 itx board looks pretty solid according to buildzoid so i'm personally going for that

MSI boards are having massive issues with Zen2 at the moment, not being able to even post, being stuck at baseclock, overheating/ wrong temperature readouts, Ram only running at 2133MHz, random blackscreens etc. Dont buy them till this is fixed.

>not being able to even post, being stuck at baseclock, overheating/ wrong temperature readouts, Ram only running at 2133MHz, random blackscreens
Sounds like AMD being itself alright

including the x570s or only the x470s and lower?

Either get go all the way for 3900x or 3600

very good indeed

it's basically silent in my fractal define r5, so i will i guess
no denying it's loud as fuck though

No one on Jow Forums actually owns a new Ryzen card; it's all shilling/shitposting.

I do own an r5 3600X, gonna install it in a few hours

It's shit for gaming. Good if you own a render farm (most likely not).

Can I stick a 12 core one in a shitty b350 motherboard?

I do but can't afford one. :-(

Getting one as soon as the motherboard bios fiasco is all said and done ain't got time to be dealing with that shit.

Please recommend a decent brand and if possible, even model. Needs to be mATX because of my case.

I suggest waiting until there is no shortage of the CPUs and Motherboards, as well as until the BIOS issues are rectified. Otherwise, it's the best value out of all the 3rd Gen Ryzen 7's. Excellent in both Games and Productivity. I am definitely upgrading from my 4770K to the 3700X for the significantly better performance in 3D workloads & multitasking (eg. 100-200 chrome tabs). I can finally stop having an excuse to procrastinate in my 3D projects as i renovate the rooms and my build.

The world is infinite, paper rectangles are expendable, your time is not.

>Card

I like it. It gave over 2x the performance from my 1600x. A 30-40min 1440p video used to take over an hour, now it only takes 25min.

Gaming during encoding still tanks fps to half, but since it gives like double the 1600x to begin with, it's like I'm just gaming with my 1600x normally.

Getting it up and running was a pain though, but you can just call it a pleb filter.

Frame Time Benchmarks or Bust, lest we have another FX repeat.

Flashing the bios and so on?

Im legit thinking about buying the 3900X for vidya and streaming.

Am I a faggot?

Why would a 3700X outperform a 3900X in games?

I can't wait to undervolt my 3700X
youtube.com/watch?v=sX20NspCpa4&t=166s

Yes, it should do okay as long as you don't do any retarded overclocks on it. Although one could question the idea of investing $500 on a processor and then cheaping out by putting it on a shitty board that costs less than a hundred dollars.

Attached: file.png (1783x1001, 423K)

because the 3700x has only 1 chiplet

My 3700X idles around 50C. Anyone else?

do NOT buy auros, my b450 has shit out twice now

>"just undervolt it bro" Vega 56 meme coming to Ryzen 3000
How do they keep doing it?

Attached: 1428679140242.png (304x359, 42K)

It's not hard and it reaps great benefits. Still beats a 9900K in productivity. Gaming is a latency issue. But it's so small it's not even a real issue other than for Twitch gamer figs. Not to mention the value prospect on B450/X470. You're just salty you paid £150 more + expensive cooler for that 10 FPS extra.

stock thermal compound?

Because 3700X is really efficient

Attached: 1562530015828.png (632x590, 67K)

jesus, the 9900k O_O

I'm a 3700X owner. Just wondering why they set the stock voltages so high when the chips can easily run much lower. The AMD engineer even came out and said it's working as intended when people were talking about the voltages they thought seemed too high. I don't think this happened with the other Zen releases.

Attached: file.png (863x425, 69K)

Check the voltages in Ryzen Master to begin with. BIOS migght show high voltage but in Windows using the correct measuring software (CPU-Z or Ryzen Master but NOT HWINFO etc) it might be using a lot less than you think due to the way Zen 2 works on polling.

>O_O
kys

could you faggots stop telling lies. fucking poorfag cope lol

Stop these lies, god fucking damn it! No way a fucking B350 can get a 3900x working properly as intended. At least buy a nice B450 or X470 if you are too poor for X570,
but then again you shouldn't be buying the 3900x anyway
Nope. But an NZXT Kraken with grizzly paste. Seems to be a common issue from what I've seen online

You can run a 3900X on an A320 motherboard. It's not recommended to do so but it does work. You can also run it on a shitty B350. But a decent B450 or X470 is advised. Nothing to stop you running a 3600 on a B350 though.

Can you run your Covfefe Lake CPU on a Skylake motherboard? Then shut up.

Why would you buy an 500 dollar cpu, if you can't afford an even half decent mobo with it? Just no.
Nobody talks about the fucking 6 cores or even i cores, those will run just fine (if the bios/vrm is decent).
But thinking it will work fine with a fucking 12 core (or just wait for the 16 core and the retards asking if they can run it on a 50 dollar mobo from 3 years ago) is just fucking retarded. Yeah it might work, but just how bad will it be.

I am sorry to have angered you fellow poorfag, but I am waiting on my X570 taichi and 3900x.

>a12-9800 is superior
I unironically is better security-wise, as it doesn't have the backdoors AMD put in Zen architecture

You wouldn't obviously. But it shows how just how good Zen 2 compatibility is. You can't say the same for Intel Platforms.

3700X is a beast. I thought it would be overshadowed by 3800X but we don't see a lot of 3800X reviews.

Doesn't help that it's nearly impossible to get a 3800X, whereas you can walk into a store right now and pick up a 3700X.

8 days later, Ryzen is still raping passmark scores

cpubenchmark.net/singleThread.html

Can't really take fat Steves benchmarks serious for CPU. Seems like he gimps Ryzen settings, did it for the 2000 cpu's, where everyone else was finding ways to get the 2700x near an 8700k at 5ghz, fat Steve managed to make it score far under.

Thought he learned his listen with that fake news video shilling Intel.

>intel guy posts gaming benchmarks
>AMD guy posts Winzip benchmarks

every time

>intel guy still gets btfo for eternity

3800x has the highest binned CCD, so it has low availability

Post more Winzip benchmarks bro.

Same, but that's mostly because it wont stop boosting which ups to the voltage to high levels.
3800X seems pointless. Benchmarks show that it's only a 3-5% improvement which isn't worth the price hike at all.

1% and .1% lows are all you need.

Cope some more bro.

Sorry but the 9900K in gaming has waaaay more potential than what these benches show, Core speed/ringbus clock/memory timings are key to really unleashing it. You get a ryzen to set it and forget it because of lack of overclock potential. The single core performance is there if you can figure out how to make it come to life. This is a 9900K at 5ghz all core with a 4.7ghz ring frequency, Ring freq matters a lot in single core if you guys didn't know, This is undervolted to 1.336v and doesn't get above 81c in prime with a NH-D15..

Still more worth it than the 3600X, which is literally $50 for the letter X.

why not just buy a different case

anybody here with a 3600x and msi creation

Slower than 9900K
