Your shit colored fans with the white casing does not go well with your case/components at all bro. 5/10, better luck next time.

this is the PC i made for my mom
she wanted something quiet as possible but still good for 4k video playback and a few games but in a small footprint
She didnt like the NUCs or other tiny pcs

So its an i7 7700T on an evga Z270 stinger with 16gb of 3000mhz corsair vengeance LPX, cooled by a bequiet dark rock pro 4 with a corsair rm1000x and an MSI RX 560 aero ITX
Uses a single 250gb samsung 970 evo nvme ssd
All in a Rajintek Metis, the original type not the plus

Its exactly what she wanted, but the parts i know are weird as fuck. The PSU i chose because i wanted to see if i could cram a 180mm psu into the metis, which i could. The cooler was because of similar reasons. The RX 560 is just because theres no room for anything else.
It intakes from the rear, exhausts through the power supply.
I think it looks really nice, its very clean, and it makes effectively no noise under load. The RX 560 isnt hot enough to have any issues in its little oven space at the top of the case and the little vent holes up there are enough for it, hitting about 60c, the cpu topped at around 31-32c under full load.

The PSU fan never even turns on, nowhere near enough load for it and the cpu cooler keeps the airflow going.

posting my old set up
its a Ryzen 1600 with a stock cooler right now, it was supposed to be a hold over until Ryzen 3000, but i dont see a need to upgrade.

Kinda. But people who buy those for brand identity purposes don't have the monopoly of great fans. Reddit is reddit.

Mfw khaki and brown is one of my favorite combinations. How quiet are they? Like i could give a fuck about the specs of the guts, i just want it cool and silent.

top fan as an intake???

Same. All black is just as ridiculous in a way.
The A14 are unremarkable noise-wise and you may as well ignore those. I'm a huge noise freak and the A12x25 though are an absolute wonder. Completely inaudible (I mean it) at 700-800RPM with already quite a bit of pressure, just what you'd expect from better Gentle Typhoons. Noctua's entire old lineup may as well be irrelevant.

As quiet or as loud as you want. They make 4000RPM monsters, and 800RPM models that wouldn't wake a baby.

Most of their fans at 800RPM would definitely wake me up. It's really just their new fan that's on a whole new level.

What about the redux line?

They're alright if you want good fans for a bargain although nothing special.

I really don't think you need 1000w. You should have got a smaller PSU and bigger GPU.

Dual Xeon e5-2690 V2 (10 core 20 thread each)
64Gb DDR3 ECC Ram
80Tb ZFS storage array
4Tb SSD ZFS storage array for VM's
Redundant 250Gb SSD Boot drive

Runs Debian.

where are the silent cases that take 200mm front fans?

So balls to the wall or no noctua at all.

>"The PSU i chose because i wanted to see if i could cram a 180mm psu into the metis, which i could"
no shit it doesnt need a 1000w psu, it doesnt need a 100w psu

Noctua aren't the only good fan manufacturer.
Noiseblocker, Be Quiet, EK and Silverstone (only the AP line) all make comparable, high quality fans.

That was true until they released their GT clone. Don't even compare a Vardar or eloop to that one. It's just that good, you wouldn't believe it.

mirin the storage. any downsides using ZFS on desktop (without using ecc)?

Aren't you getting galvanic corrosion from having an aluminium block and copper pipes?

Thanks user!

Thanks user :)

Not really. you do need some ram for the ARC cache, but it's hardly a downside unless you're some kind of 512Mb ram peasant.

The speed benefits and superior raid make up for the ram requirement ten-fold.

ECC is recommend but not required. The chance that you will ever have a ZFS error that ECC would prevent is minimal, and the filesystem can still heal itself even without ECC.

Mark Furneaux had great video that goes in depth on that:

youtube.com/watch?v=52x4PSxbjUg

It's a copper block. Water only comes into contact with brass, copper and nickel. There won't be any more corrosion than in a normal loop.

Jokes on you, I got my noctua fans for $3 for 2 at a local flea market. I just had to clean them a bit.

those brown fans ruin everything

I should also mention that I use them along with the cheap mystery fans that came with my case and heatsink.

extremely cute stack of Crucial SSDs

Probably wasn't worth the effort for the meme tubing, but at least the result is good.
Where is the PSU? What case is this?

Ok, name a fan with better cfm and lower db count than a NF-A12

Potato pic of half built pc, waiting for my 3900x

What case is that, OP?

I like the MX500's, I bought a dozen of them when they where half off like half a year ago at a local retailer. Probably as far as SATA goes, they are the best price/performance, TLC and good controllers with decent cache.

fractal design meshify c (no window)

Thanks!

what else do you have planned for it my dude

Not a whole bunch, the rest is going to be from my current build. PSU is an EVGA 750G2, GPU is my Vega 56, cooling will be my old Corsair H105 plus all my old solid and hard drives.

In the back, along with the pump and hard drives. Case is a Corsair 680X.

upgraded from 7700k to 3900x

jesus christ that fucking cooler is bigger than my head

I seriously regret moving out of my FT02. Such a well designed case.

Not him, but I regret buying mine. It's heavy, doesn't really have enough room in the back for cable management, can't fit three cards or really big cards or closed loop coolers, has an assload of useless optical bays, and the aluminum sides have me freaking out every time I move it. I made it 9 years and 7 houses before one of them got mangled.

Upgraded from 4670k to 3600 paired with a gtx 1060.
