gee Bill, two Wiis?

is that a shit stain on your chair?

One was free, the other was... free.
So one runs an ancient linux kernel. The other is my backup game player thing

nope, lol
Just some weird shadow, I think.

about to move. last post of this nasty setup

I miss when these threads were about poverty stations.

>Make Amiga Great Again edition
again? it has always been fucking great.

That desk looks like something I want. Do you remember what it's called?

Why is your keyboard and monitor so old upgrade it retard.

Nice mousepad

My next upgrade will be a parallel Ethernet adapter, running insecure WiFi for this thing is just dumb.

There's something really disgusting yet wholesome about that image.

Isn't that running on a stock A500?
Unreal.

>Fun facts: - We hit every documented hardware bug on OCS in this demo more than once - The song can’t fit in chip memory all at once (the module is 559K in size) - We built so much tooling for this demo that it is kind of ridiculous: a register allocating assembler, a new linker, an emulator version with memory protection and instruction level trace profiling, the scene packing tools,.. will be looking to release some of them later

Not exactly Amiga related, but I sure do miss playing Apshai Trilogy, Mercenary, and Gaunlet on my old C64 I had back in the day.

Sometimes I wish hardware could have stagnated about then, just to see what else we could have gotten out of this hardware.

The generic dorm room desk (tm)

Actually, here you go.

>Why is your keyboard and monitor so old upgrade it retard.
Get off Jow Forums, under-aged retard.
That's a computer, not just a keyboard.
>Nice mousepad
Thanks; FF3's the only FF I ever beat 100%.
Man, I wish I had a 1200. My monitor is bi-sync, so it can actually handle the 480p AGA chipsets.
That one looks super nice.
I got this for $40 with the HDD and monitor and a shitload of floppies, though, so I can't complain too much. I've got C compilers, demo disks, Boxed DeluxePaint III, pirated DPaint IV, and various other goodies.
Ditto
None, believe it or not
>There's something really disgusting yet wholesome about that image.
Disgusting might be the clutter. Wholesome would be the love of technology old and new, IMO
I kind of want a 600 for the PCMCIA, but kind of don't because I have an A590 already and because no numpad.
Pretty surprised how many amigas I've seen in this thread in a couple hours desu, given how expensive they can get.
Both my C64's died before I was good enough to fix them. But I still have a working VIC-20, as well as the C64 keyboards in a box.
God, I love vintage pioneer. Especially back when they'd give you the schematics with the amp.
I've got a JVC R-S5, which is nice but just not as classy.

I really need to find some DRAM chips so I can expand my RAM even more inside the A590 (it's got sockets but they aren't populated. I already have the trapdoor expansion).

cringe

Did you seriously drag all this old shit to your fucking college dorm?

No clean up, posting as is.

Attached: 20190717_210533.jpg (4888x1856, 2.63M)

did you really read all those books? how do you do that? I have a hard time reading stuff im not that interested in. even the stuff im interested in takes me a while to read. took me two days to read "the brave new world"

Attached: 20190717_213845.jpg (2502x3249, 3.69M)

thinclients?

No, small form factor PCs.

Thats not what a thin client is

>twice as fast as an A4000

Dude. What expansion have you got in that?

they looked like thin clients to me.
>Thats not what a thin client is
Maybe I'm wrong but I believe a thin client is literally a computer, low power and spec low enough to run bare bone OS that will then remote connect/ssh to a more powerful computer that provides the operating environment for the user and by doing this you reduce IT costs and you simplify IT management?

Attached: Screenshot at 2019-07-17 21-43-44.png (125x275, 44K)

Nah, everything runs locally since I hate cloud shit. Those are just sideways ThinkPads. I store them there when I'm not using them.

Attached: 20190717_215102.jpg (720x763, 346K)

oh nice, thanks user. shame they dont make em 4:3 no more, 1600x1200 was so much better than 1366

>given how expensive they can get.
They didn't cost shit 10+ years ago.

The R60 has a pretty nice display. 1400x1050 with decent colors. The T400 on the other hand is just garbage with a washed out 1280x800 panel.

Attached: 20181005_18302e.jpg (1068x615, 139K)

>Did you seriously drag all this old shit to your fucking college dorm?
Yeah.
I mean, I have a station wagon.
Also, I am hurt. It's not shit.
You could use a KVM or something, maybe. But I like your taste in keyboards and aspect ratios.
eww, touchpads
But I like them otherwise.
The best 1280x800 thinkpad I've found is the X201 tablet, since it uses an AFFS screen instead of the normal TN rubbish.
Are your monitors just glossy TV's?
I think I might be sick.
Very nice.
The problem for me is that I play a keyboard, and a hammond organ plus leslie speaker would be the straw that broke the camel's back when it comes to storage space/wagon capacity.

Attached: mobile battlewagon_a.jpg (3984x2202, 3.14M)

P.S.
I, too, despise the "cloud." So I'll forgive the touchpads.

And I wish I could afford eizo's 1920x1920 panel.

I've thought about getting a KVM switch but I kind of prefer having one set of peripherals per machine.

>They didn't cost shit 10+ years ago.
It's true.
I still find good deals at HAM radio conventions and stuff. Was just a bit too late to grab a free Sun workstation the other week (someone else beat me to it).

Please no. What's next, a ZX?

Wrong continent. Wish I had a C128 so I could run CP/M on the Z80.
Old pic from mid-move a semester or two ago

That may be the worst photo quality I've seen since around 2004 when people had cell phones with cameras but no one had good ones.
But I like ranma

My phone is from 2016, but yeah. It's pretty bad. It takes much better night photos for what that's worth.

>A500
Good taste, user.

Attached: 1553947172664.png (1035x1080, 190K)

Just get a Linksys EC10T PCMCIA NIC. Works great with cnet.device.

Attached: 1542611811414.png (1920x1080, 1.6M)

2016 isn't that old.
An iPhone 4S from around 2011 takes better pictures.
And to you as well.
I really need to get my act together, get a PCI/PCIe SCSI controller, and update my ROM's for a newer workbench.

>I really need to get my act together, get a PCI/PCIe SCSI controller
I suggest getting ide68k+ram68k+68010.
>and update my ROM's for a newer workbench.
TL866 works well. I flashed my kickstart using an OSS flasher on Linux.

Attached: 1534646836181.png (1920x1080, 1.9M)

I used amiga as my main game computer when I was a child back in 2007 because my family was poor and we couldn't afford anything new. Sold my 1200 with 060 back in 2014 (I've got blizzard 060 in 2012 )

If I'm investing in CPU upgrades I'd like an accelerator that'll get me an MMU so I can start running NetBSD or something on it.
And I mean, I already have an original A590, which gives me a SCSI bus, as well as three almost-new IBM-branded 80 pin SCSI 70GB drives pulled from a server. And the A590 also supports RAM upgrades.

I have a flasher, just need to get my shit together and do it.

>If I'm investing in CPU upgrades I'd like an accelerator that'll get me an MMU so I can start running NetBSD or something on it.
Look into the TF530 or whatever their A500 model is. 030, open hardware.
>And I mean, I already have an original A590, which gives me a SCSI bus
Look into SCSI2SD or whatever it's called.
>And the A590 also supports RAM upgrades.
Yes, you do definitely want FAST RAM. It's a nice performance boost as the cpu can run from there while chipset accesses chipram.
Replacing 68000 with a 68010 (dirt cheap) is trivial and nice to do, for an additional small boost and being able to relocate the exception vector base. It helps whdload exit key to be reliable, as it can set up a shadow of the game's exception vector elsewhere in memory.

>TF530
8bits4ever.net/product-page/tf530
>out of stock
Bleh, guess I'll wait a while longer.
I am absolute ass at smd soldering.
>SCSI2SD
Again, I already have *multiple* SCSI hard disks. The newest of which are barely 9 years old. No reason to do that.
My desktop boots off a 2005 seagate 500GB HDD, so that's not very old for me.

That last bit is a fair point.
I mostly use my amiga for deluxepaint as it sits, though... that and MIDI stuff for fun.

And again thanks for pointing me to the TF530; it's so easy to miss new developments for the amiga.

nice cuck corner

>joysticks
>on a snes controller
heresy

>Again, I already have *multiple* SCSI hard disks. The newest of which are barely 9 years old. No reason to do that.
If you really like your hard disks. The advantage of not using disks is lower latency, which does improve the experience.
>I mostly use my amiga for deluxepaint as it sits, though... that and MIDI stuff for fun.
octamed TF530
amibay, ebay, etc. have TF530s sometimes. It tends to be expensive unless you build it yourself, however. I might eventually build one... I have to get past the SMD hurdle as being able to SMD is important these days.

Attached: 1535257748079.png (1920x1080, 1.9M)

Bro, I don't even have SSD's in my desktop.
My one experience with solid state storage replacing HDD's was in my ipod classic, and that CF card died in under a year.
>octamed

Busted out my hmd again and I'm having fun with redout.

Nice setup. Please accept my steam friend request

Why do VR in such a small area? But you've reminded me to clean up before my Valve Index gets here tomorrow. Is that a teensy RPi screen down there? What do you use it for?

I love synths with patch cords.
>potato camera
>trump yardsign
>holy supplements, batman!

There's a lot more room behind the picture. But I've already tried a lot of room sized vr. I've come to the conclusion that room sized vr boils down to gallery shooters and just fucking around with gimmicks. I now just play seated games, like racing games or older games with vr mods. Played through doom 3 and alien isolation and I think that's where vr shines. Until developers find creative ways to utilize the whole body for vr I'll give it a shot. But that'll be a good 10-15 years from now.

And yeah that's a tiny screen I found on Amazon. I use it mostly for podcasts or videos I'm watching while I'm grinding in ffxiv. Also use it for putting vu meters or my mixer when I'm working on music.

That's probably considered 'quick'

since last time i posted in one of these:
- got rid of my trash ikea chair
- vastly improved wiring situation
- new clamping task lamp

Hey there schiitbro we got matching audio stuffs :)

I see you like trains...

Good to see someone remembers Streetguru, you give me hope in this world.

They are all textbooks and no, i didn't read them all entirely. I've got to work through most of them, i read at least one chapter each, and it probably takes me some years to get through most of it but i am fine with that since i bought like 99% of it used for cheap as fuck

damn op I envy you

I could do, but I'd prefer not to have shit dangling out the side.

There's pcmcia relocator thingies so that it doesn't dangle on the side, but rather, faces the back.
They are quite nice, but they aren't free.

Interesting, I'll take a look.

Furthermore (forgot to say), the ne2k devices cnet.device supports including that NIC are also well supported by netbsd and linux.
