Why did last gen cards look so much better?

why did last gen cards look so much better?

From the thumbnail I couldn't even tell which ones were new or old.

nothing can compete

Wht are you comparing stock 5700xt with aib sapphire polaris?

You know in most cases, you're never going to see that side of the card.

This is where aesthetics matter

>aib sapphire polaris
its not saphire

So we went from xtreeeme gamurrr aesthetics to high performance computing aesthetics?
Seems like an improvement to me. Leave the gamer shit to companies like MSI.

wrong

why the fuck wasn't the Vega Liquid that small

honestly they improved the design. fury x was pretty much an unmodified CPU AIO cooler tacked on.

actually i didn't notice before but that tube actually going into the copper, which then has contact with the midplate? still not a particularly good design when the vega CLC pretty much covers everything with blocks.

They all look like shit. Remind me of pic related, it's basically exactly what fucking modern cards are, overblown shit which is what we made fun of until cards went back to decent, sane fucking things after the debaucle at the time.
Graphics cards are fucking overpriced, overpowered clusterfuck shit these days that are only used by idiot "gamers" playing /tv/"games" at ultramegahyperHD at 50000FPS.

Lets face it; AMD have always had the best looking reference cards

I just like the fact they bothered to put water coolers on their stock cards. 3rd parties charge up the ass for adding their shitty solutions.

Oh right I do recall they got into patent issues with Asstek for the cooler on the Fury X. Probably why the Vega got a redesigned block unit. I hope Asstek's dumb patent expires soon.

The new RTX Quadro look pretty top tier.
But otherwise, yes.

because you have shit taste

'sup, just being the best looking card over here

Attached: GeForce-GTX-690-image04-1.jpg (1950x1300, 741K)

>every card looks the same now
>every card is now a housfire and requires a huge cooler
>every card is now expensive as fuck. back in the day you could play anything with a 100$ card. now you have to pay 400$ like a good goy and gaymes are shiy anyway.
why even live?

Attached: IMG_3666-750.jpg (750x538, 65K)

because they had a late 2000s home professional look to them
now they are back to having gaymer ricer shit like its part of an airplane or something.

yeah, i miss the early geforce days, insane value. i used my geforce 2 for like 6 years. my voodoo 3 was like 80 quid and was such a huge jump for my pc at the time.

I honestly think this is a good looking card

Who cares? It’s just a plastic/metal casing. It’s not even like a car where that marginally matters

>thought this was going to be the kino slick future of videocards
>we've gone back to elongated bricks and fans instead

ffs its current year

Did they? Maybe for AMD blower design but those newer Nvidia cards actually look better.

No rainbow colors

Quadro always win. Because it is enterprise and not gaymer.

>Peak GPU aesthetics
