Bottlenecking

Im upgrading my GPU, getting a 2070 Super
Will my I5-8600 bottleneck it?

yes if you're planning on using that 2070 super to play games in 480p

yes

>i5-8600
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHHHAHAAHAHAAAHAHAAAHAHAHAHH

So if its 1440 im good?

you'd probably even be fine in 1080p with that cpu.

it's all good.

I have an i5-7500 and looked into this too. The impression I get is that in games where the card will be pushing 100+ frames, you will get a bottleneck. At 1080p with this card, that's going to be all but a couple of games getting bottlenecked. At 1440p, it might bottleneck a bit here and there but not much.

You have to ask yourself if you think it's worth upgrading your CPU just for 20 frames here or there at 1080p, or literally like 5 frames here or there at 1440p. Your CPU is still pretty new and good. Btw don't get the Ventus if you are getting a 2070. The Gaming X is much quieter and cooler.

Ive already ordered it it was one of the only versions available in my country, the choice was down to that or the gainward phantom but im not a big fan of gainward so i went for the ventus

The gaming X will probably be available in a few weeks however it will 100% be atleast 100 dollars or so more expensive so

The Gaming X is only 15 dollars more than the reference card ($515 vs $500) and, according to TPU it is "the quietest card they have ever reviewed"

Worth waiting for imo

Oh ok, it's not a big deal really

Im not from America just checked the store page and the gaming X is literaly 76 dollars more expensive keep in mind the card is already more expensive than in the US

You're making a major mistake by asking this question on the most AMDrone shill infected board on the Internet

Fair enough

Also another question I have is if a 550w PSU is enough for the rig

...

OP did you get the ventus from scan/novatech as well?

i5 7500 is a lot worse in terms of performance than a i5 8600

are those stores?
theyre not in my country so

just because intel is shit right now doesnt make people shills if intel fixes their shit id glady switch back to them

your cpu will only bottleneck you in garbage unoptimised ubishit titles 550w is enough

actual good reply thanks

even if it does bottleneck that jsut means youll get more performance out of your gpu when you finally decide to get a new processor

If you only want 60fps youll be fine.

Yes no matter what other retards say. Yes it will bottleneck it. Go for a 2060 super or upgrade the CPU to a 8700K and OC.

bottleneck is a meme. for most gayms and other gpu intensive tasks you will be fine
