Another week full of improvements for the best Linux DE.
Why haven't you switched to KDE Plasma 5 yet?
Because it breaks when I try to do a normal log out on my hardware.
But I have. And thanks to that blog actually.
i am, just installed it on my recently installed void linux
I switched to kde in 2006 and stuck with them even through kde 4's launch because I've always felt they were the project with the best vision and I love their app suite
I love everything about kde
but I miss the desktop fractal and marble embedded on the desktop too
i want to fuck that dragon
that is gay. fuck this one instead

FIX THE GOD DAMN DESKTOP GRID IN MULTI MONITOR ENVIRONMENTS ALREADY
bugs.kde.org
How can this be ignored for so long?
But she is a boy. The official page said so.
katie? no you must be reading the kongi page
she is kongi girlfriend

>Fixed a copy&paste mistake which made Jow Forums unsure if she's a girl or not
They are trying to hide the truth.
>Katie is the dragon girl who lives next door of Konqi. She speaks for the town's female dragons. Some say she is the girlfriend of Konqi, but she acts more like his younger sister
WTF is that wiki page... pure autism
Multi monitors is painful in KDE.Nothing works right.Spend more time fixing shit, and less time masturbating to dragon cartoons.
The K stands for Krap!
BOYCOTT KDE
INSTALL ZORIN OS
I take it all back. burning KDE neon to a USB right now. soon I will join the master race. desire to fuck dragons growing significantly.
No it stands for Ku Klux Klan
You think this is a game?
>Didn't tick the non-free shit box
Faggot
It stands for Komfy.
Man, KDE threads are just the best
I like KDE but it still has some annoyances for me. Like not being able to span a wallpaper across monitors, Plasma resting my wallpaper on every login to the ugly default one.
>spectacle getting editing features
>still isnt on par to the superior ksnapshot otherwise
i hate "start from scratch" projects when something already exists that is superior
the kde devs are based, gnome is containment for shit devs
I want to give Katie a hug. So cute.
Maybe if she was a bit older I'd see her differently.
Been on KDE Neon for awhile. Give me a reason to not install vanilla Debian w/ KDE plasma instead.
It always seemed a bit bloated and slow to me.
I did tick that box, although I probably don't need it. I listen to music with mpd and videos with mpv.
why would you go from Debian's version of KDE over the source? Neon updates much faster than Debian, especially during freezes.
Oops forgot pic
immediately recognize dat spectacle filename
Here's my pisspoor attempt of making KDE4 behave like Unity. Still really far off from what I want. I've been using WindowMaker for years because it's the closest thing to a Unity that actually works and doesn't crash all the time/isn't slow as shit. Just kind of pondering because Slackware still ships with KDE4. I hear KDE5 is better at achieving this goal, but I don't wanna fuck up my current install.
Have they fixed that bug where plasma gets a memory leak in kernel 4.19?
You can do a lot with Latte Dock.
Because I'm not a Homo/Faggot/Furry or other kind of cancer that doesnt need a shitty Toddler OS to do what ever the fucking I'm going to do.
Stupid children, go back to /v/ already...
>Zorin OS
It sucks though.
It's good that they keep improving it but I'm not a fan of software changing all the time. That's why I stick with Debian+Xfce
Anyone here uses KDE connect?
Since the last update from f-droid it stared to absolutely murder my phone's battery. The battery was going down basically at the same rate whether the screen was on or off until I disabled KDE connect thus confirming it was the source of the issue.
i quit after 4 came out
haven't tried 5
There's TDE, you know?
not at the time
i just went to gnome2, then gnome3 came out, so i just went DE-less
i know there's now mate and tde, but whatever, i've learned to get by without a DE now, so i can't be assed
>faggots and furries
I fucking knew it
daily reminder that KDE fags are all scalies and lxqt and lumina are the superior Qt desktop environments. another daily reminder, quit being autistic towards GTK
Konqi is for lewds!
When will we get support for Gimp >=2.10 file thumbnails again?
>Using Gomp when Krita exists
Are you a GNOME dev? Because that's how GNOME devs react.
Gnome 3 is better at Wayland
Too bad Wayland is still worthless.
Maybe in few years it will be a plus.
>child in diaper
>lewd
user...
I prefer KDE but Firefox feels much smoother and more responsive under Wayland (with Firefox Wayland enabled in env variables )
>this could have been posted 10 years ago
why do people still say this? what exactly is worthless or unusable about it? you see more and more distros making the wayland session the default because it works incredibly well. have you used it recently?
Firefox with native Wayland has still weird behaviour, though. F.e. it resizes to the smallest size possible when unmaximizing and minor graphical glitches here and there.
Yeah, Gnome on Wayland is practically bug-free and works amazing in daily use. KDE hasn't even implemented color management yet.
>because it works incredibly well.
It works incredibly well as long as you have the correct hardware and don't need any even remotely interesting features (compositor-independent screen sharing/recording, registering global hotkeys etc. pp.).
So it works great if you have no standards.
I like XFCE best. But my first lunatix/NO distro was Arch with KDE.
Jesus Christ, that pun was not intentional, but fits so perfectly.
Very Lewd
>P..please s..stop..
>So it works great if you have no standards
Kek.
Based kandalf.
XFCE is good, but GTK3 isn't.
It's called lore, sweety.
KDE is the best DE out there but I wish I was able to run Dolphin as root
kde-servicemenus-rootactions solves it
It doesn't work anymore, I think.
That's still not fixed? At least kate allows me to edit root files.
The whole reason why you can't in the first place is because it's (((dangerous))) to run x11 programs as root.
the current workaround is this: pkexec env DISPLAY=$DISPLAY XAUTHORITY=$XAUTHORITY KDE_SESSION_VERSION=5 KDE_FULL_SESSION=true dolphin
