I've tried Thinkpads, Dell, HP, but nothing beats Apple. Their trackpad keyboards suck ass, but the trackpad is god-tier. Also, not having to worry about your OS install is worth the price. Everything just werks.

Depends on uses yo. Can easy transfer files over network and would've only needed a dongle to connect it to a screen but same was the case with almost any Macbook since TB screens are rare, and hell I haven't even seen too many other laptops with full sized hdmi.

Similar for me. I got a Dell Latitude E7270 that work were going to throw away. They said I could have it on the condition that the hard drive was taken out and destroyed. So I put my own new one in.

Great machine when you consider I got it for free. And it was virtually unused.

T420. Upgraded the CPU to an i7-3820QM and its a beast. You can say shit about the 1600x900 TN panel all you want but honestly for work its no different to an IPS panel. I don't watch crappy anime movies and other nonsense so there's literally no reason for a better panel. The t420 keyboard is just great, you can comfortably write on it even for longer periods of time, unlike on the newer keyboards.

i have a macbook, everybody gets one where i work. it has 16g ram, i7, 1 tb of storage etc. its also a heavy, overheating piece of shit with unironically one of the worst keyboard I ever had the misfortune to use. I stole a t470s from it and thats my daily driver, its a superior machine in almost every way.

Clevo 150 (I think). Bought it back in 2016. It's got an i7, 128gb ssd and 1tb hd. 4gb 960m and 16gb ram. I came with 8gb but stuck another 8 in there. It's good for what I use it for but the case is getting pretty fucked up and I want to upgrade to something with similar specs. It cost me 800bongs but I think that's only because the laptop is a no name chinkshit brand.
