I have a desktop and a laptop and I use both to shitpost on Jow Forums with different IPs at the same time

a laptop with linux for everyday use (work, media, browsing) and a tower with w10 to test my code on windows and games (rarely in use)

one is a nas
one is a render slave
and the third is the main workstation
and then there's the laptop for browsing mongolian basketweaving forums

Does smartphones/tablet count? Functionally I could do the same thing I do on desktop on my smartphone with exception of demanding games.

However in terms of actual computers, I only have 1. I have parts as well but not complete second pc. I was thinking of getting cheap laptop and running a server on it for personal usage.

gaming pc for gaming
ultrabook for literally everything else

might go down the eGPU route next year because of convinience

one forvgaming, the other streams mybgames

one is my main ryzen 1600x windows development machine. this one has the most "quality" parts because i use it the majority of the time
right next to it is my main linux development machine which is a 7th gen i3 something with a 750ti, which shares a monitors with the windows machine
to the left of both is an old HP laptop i have no idea what to use for, i got it for free and i fixed it, it's an older machine but runs windows 10 fine. i mostly use it to watch youtube videos on the side but it's primary use is intended as something to view docs on. it's 14" so it fits nice to the side of my desk
a modern lenovo thinkpad with windows that i use for mostly chilling and developing stuff on
i have another computer with linux/windows dual boot which is connected to a 4:3 monitor and i use it to play old games that look best on 4:3 like Diablo and whatnot
then i have a bunch of other machines which are just laying around doing nothing:
- an older AIO that i also got for free, fixed up and have no idea what to use it for, kinda slow and noisy but i guess i can use it to test programs i develop on
- an old lenovo laptop with an amd dual core that heats up to a ridiculous 76C under idle and 85C under load. i use it to emulate NES and SNES games because that's the only thing that runs well on it without the laptop imploding. it runs windows 7
- old amd athlon machine with a nvidia 7900 that i restored to like new condition, played some gothic on it, and then stored it
- old celeron that i did the same with, i got a few old machines and restored them to semi new condition, i mostly keep these two because they literally look like new and since these machines are getting more rare by the day i figure it's best if i keep and store them
- one old asus laptop that i'm in the middle of fixing and have no idea what i'm gonna do with, it does have a battery that works though
- one old toshiba laptop that appears to be dead but perhaps is fixable

I think that's about it

>main
>frankenstein'd together from old parts and inebriated ebaying backup
>living room optiplex from 2003 I got for $9 for guests and grandma to check her bank account
>T430 because I fell for the meme
>chinkware tablet for mangos

>Desktop
little bit of everything games, work, virtual machines, plan on upgrading to a ryzen and hosting some servers on it using vmware, and using the components to build a smol personal console emulation station to game on my couch. May or may not use windows for that but probably not.

>Laptop
work and packettracer because to cheap for VIRL and getting packet tracer to work on linux is already a pain in the ass due to libpng12.s.0 being needed. Otherwise shitposting

>Smol desktop
currently nothing got it recently for free with a 4tb hdd, maybe I'll make that host servers idk yet. Would do video camera stuff but no cameras and no house as of now just renting sisters place. May also just shove a 970 in there and upgrade the CPU for frens if they come over.

>laptop
Use for general purpose computing and programming

>smartphone
Communications and using Jow Forums on the toilet

My Computer stable consist of - drum roll....
i7 3930k x2 - Linux - crunching for Science shit
i7 6700k x2 - Linux - crunching for Science shit
R5 1600 - Linux - crunching for Science shit
R7 1700x - Windoze for gayming
R7 2700x - Linux - Science shit
An Asus N3700 laptop - Linux for 'stuff'
A Medion Gayming laptop - Yes it's cheap ass shit but good enough the crap I play
A Macbook Air - for work

The first is a dual-booted PC, which runs Windows 10, and Ubuntu 19.04.
The other is a Macbook Pro 15 inch Retina, from 2013.

The laptop is for working on the go, and the desktop is for doing tasks much better, at home.

I own more than one yes, but only use one.
I have my main computer, my laptop (which barely use) and 4 older computers and some missing parts.

I just can't throw them away.

>general desktop (no gayming)
>general laptop (no gayming)
>nas
>testing virtual machines
>composing/listening/recording music
>dvb pvr
>few over 10yr old computers for gayming and other random things
>nat (raspberry)
>nat (odroid)

I do this for some reason

Desktop in my bedroom - use it 95% of the time, has a decent specs

Desktop in living room - set up more like a studio machine, also acts as a plex server it i want to watch content outside of my place.

bedroom laptop - never use it, literally has not been powered on in months. battery is currently dead(from discharge). Cheaper thinkpad from 2016.

Living room laptop - same as above. Cheap Asus laptop from 2014.

Netbook at my dads place - Only use when i visit him, Its a complete POS from 2011 that was only $200 new(so even back in 2011 it was junk)

shit man, might as well buy a server

I keep thinking that, the ones I want cost a fucking fortune though, stuff like the 3930's I picked up for peanuts, still perform well though

2 towers, 3 laptops
to perpetuate my adhd

1 in the closet (NAS, DHCP, DNS)
1 desktop (general usage, occasionally Civilization)
1 Mac Mini connected to TV for video and shit-posting
1 windows laptop (from work, can't fuck with it)
1 MacBook for pornography

Stuff like the poweredge R720 isn’t so expensive anymore, but I guess whether it’s interesting or not depends on the workload.

iirc the i7-3930 is a quad core, while the R*20’s often come with 2x 6c/12t xeons but they have (much) worse single-thread performance. Also, server RDIMM’s are relatively cheap.

Desktop with Windows 10 for everyday use and games.
Raspberry Pi in my workroom for internet use.
Desktop with Windows 7 in my workroom for running Windows shit.
Power Mac G4 for Classic Mac OS gaming.

And a bunch of other systems that I need to go through and decide what to do with them (keep, toss, etc).

Win10 gaming PC upstairs.
Debian GNU+Linux PC downstairs.
Raspbian Buster on a Pi4, headless install but hooked up to a monitor.
Another headless Pi2 running Weechat relay.
Thinkpad X series laptop that I bought 10 years ago.

2 Gaymen PC's here
I let friends use the second one to play mp games, cause it's much more fun than just talking over ts.
Gonna upgrade the i5 2400 in my secondary pc for a ryzen 3700x soon as well.

I've got one machine with Ubuntu and Arch, and another with Wangdows for gaming and a couple of applications that aren't available in Linux. I keep absolutely zero identifying information on the Wangdows machine.

I miss the days when I used to have friends. Now I'm too shy to even accept friend requests when occasionally playing Dark Souls 3 and even pathetically attempt to make this pass as the correct thing to do.

literally shitposting

I use my desktop for browsing playing and whatever, use my first laptop to rip CDs cause it has a CD drive, and my second laptop to fuck around with Linux.

X240 for seeding/Plex server, 128gb m.2 for OS, 2tb internal drive for seeding and a usb 3.0 external 4tb for Plex

Flex 14 3500u for myself.
I draw(active pen), read comics and play games, Vega 8 is pretty decent for games.
