Looking at that clip it seems like he wired the pins backwards between the two Molex connectors. Providing a more powerful PSU won't "stuff more amps" into it.

Cleaning a CRT monitor was so simple compared to LCDs.

a shortcut to narrowing down problems.

It only triggers me because he ends up cleaning it multiple times.
If he's going to end up spraying it down with a hose, there is no point to blasting it with windex, alcohol, WD40 first..
Give it a soak in soapy wooder then touch it up with the other cleaners.
Give it a final rinse after using those other chemicals for obvious reasons.
