Bump

It's spyware, it's too buggy, (((won't fix))), and it's becoming mandatory.

pathetic trollpost

sage

>him

All my statements are true
>Spyware
Proofs
>too buggy
Its complex.
>mandatory
Beacuse so much better.

doesn't it totally break in docker? meanwhile init scripts just werk

I don't hate him nor systemd, I just like runit more

Unaudible, huge attack surface
Too complex
Hence shit

>Proofs
The burden of proof is on the glowniggers making the system. You want me to fly on a plane / use your software? Prove it's safe.

See I flipped that shit on you, and now you have nothing.

> You want me to fly on a plane / use your software? Prove it's safe.
The plane is mass adopted by many companies and so does systemd. Their opinions matter. Your retarded opinion, however, doesn't, so take a cab, moron, no one gives a fuck if you're flying or not.

wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio/Troubleshooting

Systemd isn't better than other init systems.

>wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio/Troubleshooting
what did you mean by this?
it's quite faster

Aymd nerds will never feel this.
>inb4 Jew
Stay mad poor/fat people
Jow Forums should have daily work outs because our body is technically technology on another level

Just look how big this section is. And nothing can help me with crackling sound in microphone when alsa just works.

You too user. You too.

>doing something because large companies like it
How's it like to be a soulless bugman?

Because he thirdworlder has first world citizenship and I do not.

Who's that?

Linus Torvalds, the inventor of Linux.

>faster
Who cares? Devuan takes two seconds to boot.

*shlurp shlurp shlop* *mmphf* yeess corporate masters, give me more cock ohh yes

That's Lennart Poettering.

You just posted Cringe bro

It is goddamn free software. If it is spyware, someone will fork it and remove the stuff.

I don't, he's based and BTFOing the Microsoft and Apple kikes

> t. too stupid to envision what's happening

>faster boot times
My desktop takes around six minutes to boot under Systemd because it doesn't enumerate my drives correctly and has a minute and 30 second timeout on each drive.
under 30 seconds in Sysvinit.
>parallelization
Caused race conditions on my imac5,2 that made it fail to boot approximately 50% of the time. If I had to remotely reboot it I had a 50% chance that it wouldn't come back up again without a phone call to a neighbor.
>unified and standardized between distros
Not standardized, just pseudo-standardized.
>not mandatory
debatable, these days.
Also you forgot pulseaudio
You know, the thing that is the only audio system Mozilla supports in Firefox these days? Where you have to compile from source to use Alsa, and where they're planning to remove the old Alsa code entirely in the future?
The thing where I can't run anything that uses JACK if anything that uses it is running?
The thing that respawns automatically the moment you try to kill it?

His dismissal of the BSD's, too.

Except it's become such a huge mess of code that it's impossible for someone independent to audit the code

I hate him because he is better programmer than I am

>6min
Thats an anomalous situation. It detects an error and purposely waits.
Something similar happened to me with MariaDB and timezones.
Please fix it.

>spyware
OK I didn't know you can access the internet from a mental institution.
You are obviously delusional.

Just stay grounded then. Not everybody has got the time to learn everything about everything, let alone be good enough to make a decent assessment. Did you build or completely check everything about your car too? How can you drive with that thing if you didn't user?!

I fixed it by switching to Sysvinit
Just like i fixed the race conditions by switching to sysvinit

The whole point of linux/unix is to not have to reboot in order to fix problems, so boot time doesn't matter much if you never have to do it unless the power goes out.

Also, I've never been able to figure out how to get 'agetty' to run with parameters given by me to set up a terminal session on a serial port except for by editing /etc/inittab and using system V style init.

>>faster boot times
false, systemD requires high IOPS storage media in order to work "fast", in systems with hdds or even worse, eMMC and/or SD cards, the speedup is negative.
>>better designed than all other old inits >parallelization
the design is shit, against the unix philosophy, and if that is not enough, the systemD dependencies are reaching even the userspace, like DEs and other programs.
Your init system defines your networking now and even your dns settings.
>>unified and standardized between distros
exactly, now every distro is a fedora a.k.a. free-RHEL-betatesting flavor
>>not mandatory
everything that redhat "supports" has systemD as a depenency.

woah you really got me there
for a second I thought you were serious

>>faster boot times
wrong
>>better designed than all other old inits >parallelization
old init systems had parallelisation, systemd has never claimed to be just an init system
>>unified and standardized between distros
unfortunately the standard is shit
>Improvements are quality are not a matter of faith.
improvements are all encompassing and require that you fully adopt the systemd mantra
>>not mandatory
wrong

Nice.
I have a desktop, a notebook and a netbook.
Thet did hibernate in 16.04.
They no longer do.
Am I supposed to keep them always on?
