Why do no lcd displays other than cellphones have glass screens? It seems like this would vastly improve the visual quality of monitors TVs etc. Is this just another scam where manufacturers refuse to use superior tech because it would cost a few cents more?

Are they really wrong though? AFAIK the reason 2015 MBPs kept swelling up or starting fires was because it had overheating problems where the CPU would throttle to 1.2 GHz or lower when doing moderately heavy CPU tasks (with GPU idling).

If they are 2015 models the batteries are just reaching EOL and failing in a more dramatic way than normal. Apple laptops have been getting destroyed by batteries puffing up since powerbooks.
