CPUs based on current pricing:
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on most mobos with the right BIOS)
>R3 3200G - Minimum 30-60fps gaming. The stronger 3400G sells for $150.
>R5 2600 - 60fps+ gaming CPU with great value
>R5 3600 - Great gaming CPU
>I7 9700K (OC) - Overkill gaming CPU
>R7 1700X - Budget video editing
>R9 3900X - Professional tasks

RAM:
>Do not use a single DIMM. 2 sticks for a typical dual channel CPU
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 3200CL16 or Micron E-die ("AES" in code) recommended
>AMD B & X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP
>B-die is EOP, stock is limited

GPUs based on current pricing:
1080p
>RX 570/580 8GB - Can be found on sale/used for cheap. Look for 570s which are >1240MHz boost
>GTX 1660 - higher fps / more demanding games. OR: 1660Ti at ~$230, and Vega56 ~$270
>RX 5700 - highest FPS
1440p
>RX 5700 - standard, 75-100FPS+ in most games.
>RX 5700XT - higher fps
2160p (4K)
>RTX 2070S OC - budget option. Turing scales better into 4K than Navi does.
>2080Ti - best for 4K but expensive

>Navi AIB models come mid-August. 5700 non-XT blower is alright, due to low power.

So the front panel jack is not recognizing my headphones anymore..

What I tried so far:
- Received and installed a new front I/O panel from Cooler Master cause I thought that’s where the problem was at first (in the case)
- Reinstalled HD Audio drivers
- Went into BIOS to check if Onboard HD Audio was enabled
- Went into sound settings and the only output device showing in the list is my monitor
- In the sound control panel it’s showing my headphones as ‘Not plugged in’

Is my mobo faulty? I have a Gigabyte X570 Gaming X. I really can’t be fucking bothered to replace it.

IT'S FUCKING HABBENIN!!!
Finally gave in to upgrading.
Going from an fx 8350, r9 280x, ddr3, and a sata hdd to ryzen 3600, vega 56, ddr4, and an ssd.

Attached: habbenin.jpg (3250x1180, 1.07M)

1903 has an improved thread scheduler for Zen.
It also seems for me to have fixed the issue with the task bar having to reload. Though introduced a new search issue for me.

5700 isn't highest FPS at 1080p. It's more "highest FPS within reason for 1080p" or "most worth spending on for 1080p" or whatever. 2080Ti gets higher FPS (within refresh rate cap) in some games, it's just retarded to spend that much money on pleb resolution.
Or just leave it at "higher". Don't get why you or someone else changed it.

Does the rear audio jack work? If no, yeah the device itself is dead.

>still waiting for good 5700xt to come out
UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I'm never buying from non-amazon again. so much fucking hassle.

The rear jack does not work either, fuck man. Fuck Gigabyte and their shitty products. I also have a Gigabyte RX Vega 56, and honestly it’s so fucking bad. I can see why their products are cheaper than the rest.

Should I get a TN panel or IPS ?

I play a lot of dark rpg type games and I'm scared of dark scenes looking like shit on ips.

Also afraid of straining eyes.

is this one good? budget 280 max

Acer XF270HB

will need one mainly for youtube and gaming

By the way, would USB headphones work if my HD Audio is dead on my mobo?

If you undervolt and OC, it basically matches a 2070 non-Super. Vega 56 is probably the most based GPU in recent memory, moreso than Navi.

I plan to fren, but I need to read up on some guides in case I fuck anything up.
I got it brand new for less than a 1660ti as well.

Thanks, user! I'll give in and download the update now.

I've been wondering why I'm getting cracking/popping noises whenever I'm playing a video on my browser. Chrome, specifically. I've changed the audio cable from SPDIF to PC cord, cleared cache, and reinstalled my Realtek driver.
Is there something wrong with my hardware or is Chrome just broken?

Recommend me a build with a RTX 2080Ti, i9-9900K and 2TB of storage + an SSD, please.

No.

Okay.

>not waiting for MAX

Planning to spend up to 750 merkel shekels(not the hard limit but i'd like to stay below that number) on a GPU for 1440p/144hz.

geizhals.eu/?cat=gra16_512&xf=11555_2~132_8192~2612_300~545_ASUS~545_EVGA~545_Gainward~545_Gigabyte~545_MSI~545_NVIDIA&asuch=&bpmin=500&bpmax=800&v=e&hloc=de&filter=update&plz=&dist=&mail=&sort=t&bl1_id=100

Regular 2080 is still around 700 here and i heard the Super OCs really nicely to +15% which sounds amazing if i can get one for

bros...

You need to look at the kind of games that you play and look up benchmarks. For games where 144Hz absolutely matters, like shooters, you can probably hit 144Hz easily at ultra or mix of high/ultra with a 2070 Super or even a 5700XT, the latter of which has better value.

Having the voltage that high even for 10 minutes irreparably damages your chip.

>Still waiting for my 3900X i pre-ordered 7-7.

My retailer said they only get 10 of the bloody things a week. It's going to take forever

What happened to the user building with the tomahawk MAX?

>had enough shekels for 3700X and X570 parent#1board
>250GB SSD + 1TB HDD
Nigger, get some more hard drive space.

will do but that voltage is scary

enjoy your cpus 6 month lifetime

I did and this aussie cunt OCd the 2080 Super to like 15% on average. youtube.com/watch?v=ZFoTPNx4tq8 Maybe he got a golden sample, no idea, but if even 12% is really good, especially since they are the same price, for reputable brands at least. Yeah, i could get a regular 2080 for ~650 but i want to minimize the risk of having to RMA the card by avoiding garbage like KFA2, Powercolor, Palit etc.

Tweaked my build from pcpartpicker.com/list/Jm8CfH
Do I need 16 gb ram if the games I benchmark (see previous post) recommend just 8?

>problem with hardware bought from big hardware seller
>fill in RMA form, wait for email, need to call to "discuss" the issue before it's authorized, wait 3 days for them to receive it then another week for them to "test" it, they send it back to you because "no problem found", complain and repeat for a month until they finally replace or refund

>problem with something bought from Amazon
>here's your free shipping label, refund sent as soon as it's scanned by the post office

16gb is about to become the recommended. Just get 16gb dude.

I have pretty much the same monitor and the blacks are fine

pretty much what happened to me.
Had to ship my GPU to the manufacturer myself and even pay the fucking shipping.

>2400MHz RAM
Get at the VERY minimum 3000MHz CL16

i'm surprised no one warned you not to get the Gigabyte Vega 56 (or Gigabyte GPUs in general, but especially that one).

You can sometimes fix it with an aftermarket cooler and backplate... but this point the GPU may already be damaged by the poor cooling.
I saw one guy who RMA'd his Gigabyte Vega 56 over 30 times, and he just keeps getting another faulty card each time.
>The rear jack does not work either, fuck man
Yeah the audio device itself is dead. Happened on my Asrock board, too. I replaced it with a mini-DAC.

it's a bit lower. More like a 1080, which the 2070 is a bit better than.

yeah idk. Most people are only showing 3-5% gains OCing RTX cards. They OC terribly.
You'll still be VRAM limited in some cases which is retarded for how much it costs.

Just did that pcpartpicker.com/product/Cf98TW/gskill-memory-f43200c16d16gvkb
I might go higher? I'll probably wait a couple of years until I get a new GPU to get +3200MHz ram, or even 32Gb.

pcpartpicker.com/list/NXy3KB
yes 16GB is basically mandatory for anything other than an office or HTPC build

Not him but are there any good examples of a typical stable undervolting curve?

Had issues with my card crashing under high loads (think my PSU shits itself on power spikes) and I've undervolted it a bit (seeming fixes it) but I've no idea if I've gone too far, not far enough or what. Pic is my settings (not fussed about overclocking, I want it to be cooler and more stable)

Attached: volt.png (1016x477, 94K)

Any recommendations for solid USB Soundcards that aren't 500+shekels?

techpowerup.com/forums/threads/rx-vega-56-tuning-for-efficiency.249886/

Attached: Vega 56 undervolt.jpg (1304x470, 161K)

That RAM is fine. You don't need 32GB right now unless you know why you need it.

>I7 9700K (OC) - Overkill gaming CPU
>replacing the r7 3700x
I see intcel shills are trying a slow approach this time

I'm already max modded. All I need is a copy of the bios.

Userbenchmark is now a confirmed shill site. They changed their cpu scoring to massively disfavor multi core and favor single core. This leads to hilariously bad results and inaccurate ratings.
Proof 1

Attached: Screenshot_20190724-154528~2.png (1440x1583, 371K)

It costs almost the same now while being much better in games. Your point exactly?

>gaming oriented measure

Does a CPU idleing at 3.8ghz, and that same cpu idleing at 1ghz because Auto clock, do both consume the same watts?

Attached: Screenshot_20190724-154837.png (1458x2048, 670K)

Has anyone here had their 2080S shipped yet?

Attached: 2080_Car_678x452.jpg (678x402, 27K)

Hey, KFA2 GPUs are pretty damn good, and I've mostly heard good things about Palit

Which of these
>Gigabyte B450 AORUS ELITE AM4
>Gigabyte B450 AORUS M RGB FUSION 2.0 M-ATX
and which of these should I get?
>Ryzen 5 3400G
>Ryzen 5 2600X

How's that new build coming along, Jow Forums?

I've bought the fractal R6 and some fancy b-die memory. Deciding on a motherboard for ryzen 3000 though is proving to be an impossible task.

Attached: build.jpg (2656x1494, 1.96M)

>games only use 4 cores max! Multi core doesn't matter!
t. Intel 2011-2019

>another "b-die!!" virgin scammed
lol

Attached: dual rank RAM.jpg (994x746, 295K)

Nope, "totally normal", don't worry!

Attached: totally_normal.jpg (810x595, 259K)

No where does it say gaming. It says effective cpu speed. Implying that multi core in isn't an important factor in cpu performance. It also implies that quad core performance is 56% more important than multi core performance when all but the lowest of low CPUs have 6c.

Video editor here.Thank God I didn't fall for the 3900x hype Jow Forums was making. Early adaptations are bad.

Attached: pic_disp.php.jpg (800x812, 126K)

i'd like to connect a bunch of extra hard drives to my computer and i was thinking about a sas controller. i once saw a sas cable splitting into 4 sata ports and that looks like the best option (i can handle to power separately) which controller would Jow Forums recommend? preferably with at least 3 sas ports of mentioned above

I broke down and ordered an Aorus Xtreme for dat feature set and no goddamn fan.
Can't wait to ree next year when they retire AM4 before I get even one more gen out of it.

>cherrypicked outliers
Never change Jow Forums

Attached: untitled-1.png (725x385, 61K)

>550W
>vega 56
nigga wtf are you doing?

SIR DELETE RYZEN = VALUE

If you read the fine print, dude rigged it for single rank (likely a b-die coper)

Yes I'm sure a 65w CPU and 200w GPU will burn out a 550w psu. Retard.

am going OC 3950X with Vega 64 LC OC
is 650W enough?

Attached: 1563991619792.jpg (2400x1384, 1.72M)

No.
Also, dual rank b-die is a thing, the die isn't even relevant.

When I said 16gb is becoming the recommended I actually meant it is becoming the minimum. But right now it's the recommended for most things.
It's fine to just get 16gb now. By the time it comes for upgrade time ddr5 will be out.

TDP is not the same thing as power consumption.

2600 non X
Aorus elite

>unironically believing it"ll pull as much W as presented as
babby's first build?

my 770w psu struggles with a lot shitter cpu and gpu, it simply shuts down when it gets too hot

3600 actual use is around 70w. Vega56 pulse actually only uses 185 stock, needs UV and oc to push 200w.
So yes, 550W is more than sufficient.

RMA while you still can and get a 650W
vega 56 consumes far more than 200w because of HBM2
also TDP=/=W consumed

Then it's a garbage psu.
I've been running a similar build to that guy on a RMX 550w for nearly a year and it doesn't even spin the fan up to full speed under max load.

Thanks, but why the 2600 and not the X version or whatever?

>If you undervolt and OC, it basically matches a 2070 non-Super. Vega 56 is probably the most based GPU in recent memory, moreso than Navi.
this shit again.

Attached: but a vega 56 is basically a 2070, disproven.jpg (2112x5441, 1.81M)

>vega 56 consumes far more than 200w because of HBM2
Why are there so many brainlets on Jow Forums?

How are you running with only two components?

yeah i've been wondering why are you here
maybe reddit should be more adequate for you

Are you that dumb? Everything else combined is well under 100w.

It is honestly, it's shocking how many braindead fucks come here pretending to know shit lately.

>550W
oh nonononono

Actually, since at its current price the 2600x is only ~$15 more, I'd go with the X version. That is unless you find a good deal on the 2600

Well now you have to get the 16 core otherwise your build is going to look pretty fucked with way more money allocated to the motherboard than the CPU.

So Newegg got my dead board today, and they said it would take 3-5 days to process or whatever. Then they sent me an email saying my RMA was approved. Does that mean they processed it really quickly or?

There right goy, don't forget to buy a 750W platinum PSU for your midrange build! You might want to upgrade to sli in the future!

>mfw I bought a fully modular 850W 80+ Gold PSU during prime day for $70

Attached: 1556292290072.jpg (486x604, 53K)

what brand?

You guys discussing W consumption can you tell me if my CPU overclock to 4ghz with stock voltage will have the same consumption at idle as with auto voltage which goes to like 1ghz

just don't overclock and you might pull it off
emphasis on might

Thermaltake

Thermaltake
I know it's not Corsair or Seasonic but it could've been worse

Anyone else hide their power level for a day or 2 after a new build by leaving the ram at 2133Mhz, just so you can fucking demolish all your bench records again?

Attached: 1324245058786.png (349x415, 320K)

Some games will max out 8c/16t like Kingdom Come Deliverence, you dumb shill.
Newer game engines do parallelization much better.

>single cherry picked benchmark
Obviously trolling. You were never considering the 3900X and are just trying to concern troll others.

You don't seem to realize that you're backing him up. The Vega 56 UV/OC is very close to the 2070 in many of those games, and never fall off.

This was the new email I got

Attached: Capture.png (550x143, 10K)

The results for Ryzen seem very inconsistent. Why would a 3800X be so much better than a 3700X or even a 3900X? And why would the 3700X be slower than a 3600? It doesn't make any sense.

except the 2060 is closer, but better not mention that huh?
Better compare a maximum oc/UV vs a stock nvidia card huh?

You're talking like I'm not the one who's been running the same shit for over year without a single issue.

>This was the new email I got
The 3-5 days is just something most companies say to cover their asses incase they're overloaded with work. Things must be calm that's why they pushed it out so quick.

Well that's good then, it was for a replacement so that means I should get an invoice within a day or two right?
