It happened with a indian symbol and also a chinese symbol about 3 and 5 years ago.
Like everything they avoided the standard UTF-8 fonts and decided to create their own standard :^) even though MS and Linux and BSD and Android all use the same universal fonts.
That have support for foreign characters all around the world already....
So this will keep happening as new words are created in chinese and indian which happens every single day.
It's a exterior stacked bandaid fix to a core issue.
