>8800GTX
>not using the far superior 8800GT for the price

8600GT was amazing for the time, 8800GT was unbeatable till the 3000 series dropped. Anyone remember the 9600GSO garbage rebrand shit?

>not the even more superior 1gb golden sample 8800GT's
Best

Don't forget your Q6600

It's okay when novidia does it

The only discrete GPU I have ever owned. Over a decade ago I had my dad order one and two came in. Never returned it, sold to a friend for $100. Good times.
Now get off my lawn.

>Now get off my lawn.
I would but you're too young to own property

I still have the 8800gt that came with my mac in 2008.

Two of these babies. Playing GTA IV sippin beers till wee hours of the morning.

Attached: 8800_Ultra_SLI.jpg (800x559, 248K)

I'm 27 with a quarter million in the bank. I could have bought by now but don't think it's worth it.

>Don't forget your Q6600
Fuck off. Q6600 was op master race quadcore. Had one that overclocked to 3.9 on air. Stable. Was the bomb till the first i7s came out.

Unified shaders? What the fuck is this new age crap?
Now the 7900GS, that was the card to own. Gets 60fps in COH at 1280x1024, 256mb VRAM. All you'll ever need.

You're in the wrong thread for shilling bud.

I rest my case

Buy land in some area that would be desirable if it only had a good infrastructure/population base. It'll be worth way more in the future.

I’m gay

Yup, thats the one i coveted when i was in highschool. I had to settle for the 9500pro, cause $500 was too much for me.

I begged my dad to buy a PC with a voodoo 3 when we bought the 2nd machine for my family. Upgraded from a 486 to a P3 450mhz, 96megs of SD ram, voodoo 3 and 8gb hdd... I have more anime porn than i did hdd space back in '99....

You're right I don't have it, but it has nothing to do with my age. Thanks for playing.

to bad their drivers suck worse than a $5 indonesian lady boy.

I still had a Geforce 6800 Ultra AGP when Portal 2 came out and it ran it at max settings smoothly, only problem was those liquids later on in the game which were bugged with it, I was pretty impressed

This with 1gb ram and a p4, take me back

7600gt forgot to say

youtube.com/watch?v=IUT8K1EW-qw

Stay mad nvidiot

It was a different time then. Blowers were pretty new and we didn't quite have the understandings on alternatives and airflow.

GT was worse than GTX and was launched later.

I remember when the 8800 launched and everyone was shocked at how huge the coolers were, we started calling them graphic bricks on Jow Forums for a few months.

Even then, by the standards of today, those cards didn't produce that much heat and a blower could handle it.

i had a HD 4850 but my friend bought a 9800GT
poor him lol

post more mid 2000s kino hardware

Gonna play wow classic with it for old time sake

>so kino they made a 2019 version
how could one company be so based
logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-mice/mx518-gaming-mouse.html

AMD just got their mojo back with that back then so it was slow, kind of like Ryzen at the time, but ultimately they got to 40-60% parity with Nvidia by the time of the 7000 series. Nvidia also got complacent and rebranded their Tesla architecture, the one that the 8800 GTX uses, for 3 years straight. While not as bad as Intel now, they at least had the advantage getting dieshrinks and getting Fermi out like Intel is doing with Ice Lake is now obviously legendary with the memes it spawns. Didn't matter ultimately because Nvidia had their GPGPU wins with CUDA and it utimately paid off while getting the company through the tough times by overcharging for enterprise and after going through two more revisions, Maxwell came and started the current trend of Nvidia being able to consistently top out AMD.

But yeah, it's probably why Jensen didn't hesitate to put out the 1080 Ti to preempt Vega and the Super series now to counteract Navi. Because they learned from this period.

Are those really that old? I still use mine

>building jets for half a decade
>didn't understand airflow
Lmao, more like everyone got jewed back then just like we do today

I upgraded to one of these from a FX5200
Good times

BFG... now THAT was a brand

>Tiny gpu fan
Imagine the noise

I'm still using the one I got like 12 years ago

>zoomer can't imagine gpus not getting ridiculously hot
they were not high pressure at all. the chips just didn't get very hot.

BFG made EVGA looks like a fucking joke. Really do miss them. Best warranty in the GPU market.

My gpu + Chrome

That was just normal
I have an evga Geforce4 ti 4600 acs2 that sounds like a dremel tool, it's just like that

*SIPS*
Oh yeah, that is the rebrand king.
Made it into 2 gens and noone gave a shit, because novidia.

9700 pro for me. first dx9c gpu and had 8x agp support. BASED

I still have mine

>don't ever talk to me or my son ever again

Quadro FX 4600 and 5600, 8800GTX and Ultra equivalents. Though the 5600 has 1.5gb of video memory.

Attached: IMG_4385.jpg (3482x1789, 931K)

The first GPU I ever bought was this.

Attached: sapphire_radeon_x1950pro_dual_f-SR.jpg (2400x1352, 698K)

i remember playing crysis on that baby, damn those were the times, really was amazed at the free roaming on the island, sneaking in the forest and watching the leaves bend around you, throwing north koreans trough buildings and shit.
what happend, its like vidoegame physics have regressed since crysis.

mine still works fine too, only have to clean it every few years but still works like a charm.

remember when nvida was talking about how we would be able to use our old gpu as a physics support card on our desktop when we replaced our gpu with a newer model.
the fuck happend with that.

Physx wasn't used as much as expected and the integrated physx capabilities turned out to be a lot better than what Nvidia originally thought.
You still could, it just wasn't that useful after Fermi.

Remember when they disabled being able to use your old nvidia card for physx if it detected an AMD card also being used in the system?

nvidia are such kikes, I fucking hate them. I'm glad they got BTFO on their physx proprietary bullshit, and I'm glad they got BTFO recently on their proprietary g-sync bullshit too.

Remember the day I walked to the pc shop to upgrade my MSI 6200 to Gigabyte 7600 GT and run HL2 Lost Coast

q6600 and 8800gtx on a dfi lanparty mobo inside a spry painted and modded old full tower case, hand-sleeved cables and UV cathodes.
mid 2000's were lit.

I had the AGP version

Every single person (8 people) in my clan had one of these and they all died in a year. the 8800gtx was fucking garbage.

I wanted to buy 4600 and 8800. But didn't have enough cash, so instead waiting for when i have more cash, i bought 4800 and 8600.
It was a mistake.

mine had a copper zalman cooler, it was rather compact

Mine was this.

one of the most satisfying cards i've ever owned

THis and TNT2 were the best cards I ever had. Then fiber cable came to my house.

I picked up a gateway for £15 a little while back that I still need to get POSTing. it has a 500mhz athlon, 256mb of SD RAM and a voodoo3 3000.

Hard to find this sort of stuff these days. Gumtree rarely has anything good for me.

I have the Quadro FX4500 and Quadro 4000.

Don't update to 1903, it have problems with 10-bit rendering right now.

Oh shit negro an xfx Nvidia gpu, that's all you needed to say.

P.s. stay away from xfx as they will send you faulty rma cards

had a dual quadro, dual firepro system once, all single slot cards, was hot and noisy but it was great

geez, seems like you have some bad luck with geforce cards

I'm gay btw lol

I wanted one of these so badly but ended up with a 9600 Pro All in Wonder
AMD needs to bring back AIW cards.

T. zoomer
Fermi was notoriously hot and created the original house fire meme. I had one of those super high rpm delta fans pointed right at my 8800GTX and the thing still ran 60c under load.

Upgraded to a RX 580 in my 2007, time to evolve bro and add RAM
I had a 8800GTX for a decade in it

8800GT was by far the better value in terms of everything

This makes me so happy.

For 1024x768, yes. My 8800GTX was playing GTA V maxxed out with a playable framerate, better than consoles 7th Gen did

Buy land

fermi is from 4 years after you absolute zoomer

I remember having an HD3870 with a blower, it was fairly quiet.
Back in the day 100W was typical for mid to high end cards.

My dad bought a 256MB 8400GS for his flight sim because it was "on sale for $120" and I laughed him out of the room.
I didn't get any help when my car blew a head gasket 6 months later. He could have had an actually decent 8600GT 1GB for like $40 more. Fair deal I guess.

I used a 6800gt agp card for years till i finally upgraded to a gtx280, after that i moved to AMD during the terascale and GCN era.
