>Post at least some attempt at a parts list
>List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
>For monitors, include purpose (e.g., photoediting, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable)

CPUs based on current pricing:
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on most mobos with the right BIOS)
>R3 3200G - Minimum 30-60fps gaming. The stronger 3400G sells for $150. (R3K APUs OCs better than R2K)
>R5 2600 - 60fps+ gaming CPU with great value
>R5 3600 - Great gaming CPU
>R7 3700X - Overkill gaming CPU
>R7 1700X - Budget video editing
>R9 3900X - Professional tasks

RAM:
>Do not use a single DIMM. 2 sticks for a typical dual channel CPU
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 3200CL16 or Micron E-die ("AES" in code) recommended
>AMD B & X chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP
>B-die is EOP, stock is limited

GPUs based on current pricing:
1080p
>RX 570/580 8GB - Can be found on sale/used for cheap. Look for 570s which are >1240MHz boost
>(GTX 1660TI ~230/Vega56 ~270) - higher fps / more demanding games
>RX 5700 - higherer FPS
1440p
>RX 5700 - standard, 75-100FPS+
>RX 5700XT - higher fps
2160p (4K)
>RTX 2070S OC - budget option. Turing scales better into 4K than Navi does.
>2080Ti - best for 4K but expensive

>Navi AIB models come mid-August. 5700 non-XT blower is alright, due to low power.

What's wrong with speccy? Just bad temp readings?

If it was the provided thermal paste's fault I'll be pretty pissed. Do you think it'll affect temps noticeably? I've googled and everyone that's complaining about scratches in the CPU IHS looks to have smaller ones than what mine are. My gouges has pretty noticeable burrs on them.

best high tower case w good temps and decent noise? price doesnt matter

phanteks enthoo pro

Since a 2080S is a 2080S what's the best cooler one can get temp wise? I plan on eventually adding it to my Swiftech H360 x3, but don't really want to deal with buying all the correct parts immediately after getting a new card.

Is it worth upgrading from a gtx 1080 to a 5700 xt for 1440p at the time? And where do you sell your old hardware?

Yo bitches i am back again to shill the monitor i preordered. Lets keep hoping its GOAT and not a monkey paw. I will bite the bullet and buy in for you guys

Attached: Screenshot_20190715-201531_Amazon Shopping.jpg (1439x2418, 1.06M)

Is a 2600x a good value, or should I just get a 3600?

Also think about selling my 2060 to a cowotker for 270 usd and buying an ain 5700xt even though i hate amd. If drivers are still fucked i wont though because i program for a living and cant be fucked to fix things at home because i am a lazy drunk

What are the prices where you live and what do you want to do with the pc

Amazon is so cancer, these fuckers are holding hostage my pc parts order because they think I'm a fraud and disregard my emails when I provide them with the requested proofs of my identity. Seething right now, I think I will just give up wanting to build a new PC for now. Fuck amazon.

Just turned on the PC for the first time to make sure everything works and holy shit it does, I can't believe it. The monitor says like press f1 to run setup etc. So at this point do I just turn it off, get all the cables organized, close up, and then install Windows and such?

$150 for 2600x. $200 for 3600. 1080p 60 fps.

Just call them its not a big deal

2600x is good to go for 120hz+ my man. Id go as far to say as 144hz with decent ram and an oc

pcpartpicker.com/list/xtvQFt
I want to do it

everything is so fucking expensive god fucking damn why am i so pooooooor

I have a laptop and a desktop. I want to work on both. Is it possible to turn on both and connect the screens so that they both work like a single computer with dual monitors?

Already did, over 10 times actually, they keep saying some account specialist retard will come back to me 12 hours after but all that ends up coming back to me is the same copy pasted email telling me they still haven't received the requested documents and can't proceed with the shipping of my fucking order even though I sent them to amazon by literally every means possible. I can't even connect to my account anymore because it's locked until I send them what they asked for (again, already did many times).

It makes mistakes. Use it with another program to cross check your numbers.

Just cancel it and buy from newegg. Amazon are jews. The refused to pricematch their own websire a product i got the day the price dropped 30 dollars and ive not trusted them since

I'm not from the US, I live in europe and I went with amazon because getting the same build anywhere else would costs me several hundreds more which is ridiculous.

looks based, go for it

Well idk dont vote for the high tax nanny state next time

>new build booted
YES
>bios says aio pump is at 12krpm, but I dont have an aio and nothing is connected to the header labled AIO pump
?????

Is there something about the 1660 that makes it not worth considering over the RX 570/580?

pcpartpicker.com/list/6H6gRJ
Am I good to go?

So far as I know, the 1660 is the best performance per dollar GPU, so long as you don't use Ray Tracing.

i have an old computer that wont POST or give a display.
ive tried two motherboards, two PSUs, and two processors with this same machine and not once have i got it to so much as POST, much less boot.
im at my wits end with this thing, what the fuck is up with it?

Looks fine to me

What are some good PSU's for this

Why is Seasonic so recommended and what other respectable options are there?

will there EVER be optimizations for hyperthreading in games?
i know the next consoles are rumored to have 8c/16t but the current gen also have 8 cores and the octacore optimization’s not quite there yet
i just want to know if in the future i will regret buying 9900k instead of 9700k

Cool. Thanks.

question from another thread

overpaid gook monitor, you like to burn your cash, don't you?

You ever check the RAM?

well do you have gsync or freesync?
i don’t see any other major deciding factors

i have the same question right now, but with 3700x instead of 9900k
i can buy 9700kf at a lower price than 3700x, and i can get a cheaper board, too
but i’m thinking what it’ll be 5 years from now, will 3700x benefit from games with hyperthreading optimizations, or would i have made the right decision?

theyre both freesync monitors, ignore the retarded amazon titling

Gooks make all eletronics now user. Go back to pol

1660 ti exists

I only have a 2k monitor
Should I get a 2600 or 3600?
Plan to pair with a 5700xt but only after new coolers are released

Whichever you get I'd recommend paying a bit more for the 2600x/3600x, you'll be happy you did down the line.

alright i need help Jow Forums. i fell for the meme and bought b450 tomahawk + ryzen 3600. when i try turning it on, the fans and shit turn on but the pc doesnt boot and the cpu debug led is lit up. after turning it on and off about 2 or 3 more times it posts. could it be a faulty mobo? also this probably doesnt matter but there is coil whine coming from either the mobo or the psu, not sure which one yet.

ive taken out everything but the Motherboard and the PSU on both boards and PSUs

2600, you can use b450/x470 motherboards without issue and when you feel like upgrading, the bios will be finalized for zen 2+

Help

well then how can we suggest you when we’re not sure if the listed specs are accurate

I'm planning on buying a GPU but I feel a bit stuck between the 5700 XT and the 2070S.
My primary uses would be VR games, Unity development, and video rendering (I have a 1600x900 monitor at the moment but plan on upgrading to a 1440p in the near future.)
On one hand, the 5700XT saves some cash for the monitor upgrade and provides the same performance, but on the other someone told me the RTX would be much better in terms of lightmap baking and rendering.
What would you guys recommend?

Attached: 15386169248.jpg (326x273, 19K)

there is not going to be a "zen 2 +"
stop making shit up

haha yes

displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/1155c185c
I linked the product pages so people could see the price but here's a comparison list I made with a third model.
The all seem pretty good. The alienware monitor's sale ends in a week (Im ordering mid September) so I probably wont go with that. Leaning towards the 250

Was getting b450
How much of a difference does the letter X add?

Will plugging a monitor into the vga port on the back panel still use the graphics card or does everything have to go directly into the graphics card

Wait until August

Is it worth upgrading from a 280x toxic to a 570 8GB?

x470 mainly lets you use SLI, and the component quality tends to be a little better overall. if you want to spend more, it's fine

Started looking at components and I guess one question I may have in considering from where to start off is which mother board that won't break the bank (e.g. the price of a gaming laptop) will offer the best combination of durability and flexibility for future upgrading.

I would essentially want do a budget build that would allow for at least functional degree of gaming. 10 system with an SSD for the OS and and a secondary HDD. Not really too preoccupied with other accessories but feel like MBs might be an important place to start. Tbh I don't have an idea of what processor would work best either which is why I'd be interested in flexibility and also whether any available pre-built option might not also be useful.

Did you update the bios?

I just moved my mobo and shit to a new case.
It was a cheap ass Lenovo IdeaCentre

Anyways, it has one of these mini pcie wifi cards with a grey wire and a black wire coming out of it. At the end of the wires are a metal plate with a copper colored square that is sticky on 1 side.

These were stuck to the top of my old case. I thought sticking them on the top of my new case would be fine, but its not picking up my signals. I have about a 55% drop in signal strength.

Anyone know what to do or how to line the antenna up so it catches wifi signals?

Which utility do people use to measure memory latency on Ryzen builds? I want to see how this 3733 MHz memory performs when I fuck with the FCLK settings

LG actually makes sick monitors. I had one of their 120Hz monitors with a low-latency gaming mode back before most people had even fucking heard of LCDs over 60 Hz and it absolutely raped for like 5 years.

Pop here, my mother board only has a free PCI Express 2.0 slot, what do I need in order to be compatible with an intel SSD 660p Series 1TB M.2 80mm PCIe 3.0?
I once saw some of you guys using adapters but I dont know them at all, if you could give me some advise I,ll be in debt with you, thanks for reading!

Are there any dx12 benchmarks for ryzens

yeah amd-0 intel-69420

Where do you idiots come from? Like how do you find yourself here in this thread asking such a dumb fuck question?

So how do I pirate a Windows key?

Attached: 1446084358270.png (1512x1912, 1.25M)

I have this stock Mobo with a front panel USB 3.0 connection (Yes it IS a usb3.0)

Its something I've never seen. Most front-panel USB connections are pins. Is there an adapter for this? I don't even know what the fuck to call this "Slot" to search for an adapter.

Attached: connection.jpg (1862x1210, 574K)

Hwidgen

Pro-tip: Pirate a copy of Windows directly from Microsoft by giving them $150.

I got a 2600x and a contact silent 12 cooler on it.

Wondering if it will be good enough for 3700x or if i should get something better.

considering the price it's probably going to perform the same as the stock cooler of the 3700x

Ah well from what it seems as long as it's not making a lot of noise, the boost with stock cooler/aftermarket isn't really that large a diffierence.

I could grab a true 140 direct that's on sale right now however.

If staying at 1080p, would a 2060S be worth it? Ray tracing causes a performance hit, but with an overpowered card, the hit might not be a problem. Is ray tracing truly just a big fat may-may?

linustechtips.com/main/topic/1045610-new-psu-tier-list/

download directly from windows and use an activator

Buy a new mobo grampa

Why should i. My old PC came with Windows, now I have to buy it again? Fuck off

Why don't you just "steal" the windows key from the old system?
You can use the command prompt to display your windows key - just google it

Get the 1660ti instead

No need to be rude

Is Linux worth using for someone who's casual with computers? I'm worried about vidya not working or the alternative Linux Office suite being shit.

asus

just use wine lmao

>n*gabyte

The last of my parts for my overkill build get delivered tomorrow, but still no 3900x in sight.

I'm seriously considering getting an on-sale 1600 to drop in for now, because god knows it may be September before stock comes back in.

hold me bros

So once you go with an SSD, is there any reason to keep old HDD around? I have a WD rapotor, I assume its garbage now.

pcpartpicker.com/list/64GtcY
I'm in need of a PC for work where I basically watch youtube or netflix and edit photos all day. My current work PC I got is shit and I need to have a separate one from my personal PC.

Is there any way I can cut any costs of this build? I really don't have knowledge of lower end PCs.

Attached: proxy.duckduckgo.com.jpg (750x750, 181K)

I decided to fuck it and find a female USB 2.0 to male 20-pin header usb3.0 cable.
The front USB ports on the case won't be USB 3.0, but at least they'll work.

Kek

>Which utility do people use to measure memory latency on Ryzen builds? I want to see how this 3733 MHz memory performs when I fuck with the FCLK settings
Nobody knows the answer to this question?

Attached: kyle.png (229x378, 177K)

Why recommend RX5X0s?
Shits from 2017.

Pics?

an RX 570 is better than a 1050Ti and is cheaper too

Because amd chose not to price the 5700s to replace the rx500s

I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of those.

These adhesive rubber things came with the new fans I bought, what are they for?

Attached: IMG_20190725_231526.jpg (3120x4160, 2M)

Anyone? Or at least for the 2080 since they're basically the same?
