H@H and CDNs are not decentralization. In spite of the way it "looks" from the surface, all of its users are now completely disconnected from each other and there is no way to reconnect them. If your system is "decentralized" but consists of a supernode that causes the system to crash when it dies, then it's not decentralized.

The implication is that you give up disk space and bandwidth in exchange for gay crypto tokens.

The primary advantage of using IPFS over these "decentralized COS" services is the benefit of deduplication.
Storj and Maidsafe have privacy as a primary goal, and this property encourages duplication of files across the network, and the splitting of swarms, making it less efficient at storing the same content.

In IPFS, the files matter more than the metadata. So as long as each individual file is still being stored, they can still be referenced by multiple different archives with different metadata.
