yes

yes

I am a software developer and I have never drunk a cup of coffee.

no, I'm just an addict

youre a larper

I'm a coffee enthusiast and I haven't written a line of code

yes, its like nitrous for the brain

Yes, don't trust any code written not under the influence of coffee.

No, but it makes working in an office 8-5 tolerable

When you're working in a closed-off, isolated cubicle environment programming boring stuff, yes. I can't explain to you how tiresome it can get.

a 4-scoop coffee is the only way i can 'wake up' in the mornings

Yes.

I drink coffee to avoid sugar. Usually a flat white, or latte - as best as I can self made.

Then I don't need to drink fizzy drinks or anything sugary, just lots of coffee and caffeine throughout the day, gets me through without the sugar craving, along with being tasty since I use soya milk.

I think I have drank too much over the years, and have also become addicted, drink about 5-7 mugs a day. Also become a semi-expensive habit, I usually buy high quality beans nowadays, cheap/average coffee just doesn't cut it when you drink the strong rich stuff for so long.

Coffee is a ritual, or a magic potion.
>Make coffee
>Start working
>Enter flow state 20 minutes later, right as the caffeine starts kicking in
>It must be because of the coffee!
>Become conditioned over time: coffee = focus mode (+ a nice dopamine release)
I know caffeine has objective effects like increased heart rate etc but it's not like it's impossible to become distracted after consuming it and in my case I've noticed it's more likely that I will so I've cut it. From now on my drugs of choice are water, amino acids, exercise and a positive mindset

>I've had my productivity potion, now it's time to get shit done
>I've slipped on the sapphire ring that I've channelled over 200 hours of positive and productive intent into via meditation, now it's time to get shit done
Equivalents

haha look at these energylets needing their coffee to make their brain work
coffee is for weak beta soibois, change my mind

that's right, drink sips

no, but it helps me not to kill myself (yet)

>"i need bean water to function"
>ACTUALLY falling for the caffeinated jew

yikes

YUP. About to have shot no. 5 for the day.

yes
t. coffee addict

does brigham young have a good CS program?

it helps not wanting to hang myself when i wake up every morning staring in the abyss that is my life

zoomer

ubersoyboy

Not really. I had lots of cold brew in college but whiskey helped me code just as much. It could just be caffeine or nicotine, any stimulants. I became Jow Forumspilled and drink energy drinks now though
Based

>energy drinks
>fit
howthefuck.jpg

A lot of the fitness community indulges in sips. Also idk where everyone gets this idea they are bad for you. As long as you don't have any heart issues, in moderation they are fine. Not talking about soda ones btw, most people drink the 0cal 0 sugar stuff

0 calories 0 sugar
Are you retarded

>yikes
oof

what about smoking

I'll gladly vouch for the potency of coffee. Never liked the stuff, but I made the effort this week to grind down on some classwork, so naturally I resorted to stimulants. Cigarettes work for decompressing, but coffee zaps your brain into action quite nicely. I use a decent coconut milk creamer mixed into boiled water and 1tbsp of folgers crystals. Two to three cups later and I'm zipping through my work at a pace that puts my "sober" work ethic to shame.

Yes. Modafinil also helps. If I mix them I get hella focused.

Attached: 1552109554024.jpg (586x828, 87K)

Modaf is nice but I don't wanna take it every day in case I stop feeling the benefits of it, do you take it very often?

It dehydrates the fuck outta me, makes me poop good, and is a hit or miss if it actually gives an energy boost.

Its ok

Nah, like 1 or 2 times a week tops. Last week I took it everyday tho (half pill), and it made me wonder why I don't take this thing everyday, I've read that it barely has any sides effects if any, but I don't think this is for free in that regard, so I try to use it only when I need it, for example when I don't sleep properly the previous day or if I wanna have a bit more of output at work.

That's what I thought as much, that's what I did the last time I had them, only taking them when I need them and half each time. If only life was as easy as having a magic pill that makes you enjoy doing shit every day...

>tfw love coffee but can't enjoy it anymore because it gives me anxiety

Attached: 1541440987486.png (640x427, 428K)

Where do I get such a sapphire ring.

Caffeine addiction is bad for coding. Creatine is the only acceptable supplement.

Narcoleptic user here. Modaf is the med the docs prescribed me to keep my condition at bay. It works, but only at 12-hour stretches; the very instant the medicine stops taking effect, I feel it as a heavy crash that puts me out fast - like switching off a light.

Side effects are basically nothing, but modafinil doesn't play well with Ritalin or any other amphetamine-derivatives.

In terms of its active effects, it doesn't do a lot for improving your alertness or your energy level; it just suppresses the urge to sleep, and that's all it does. If that's all you need to stay alert, good, but if it's a more general fatigue sort of thing then you'll still need something to boost your energy and/or better exercise and sleeping habits.

>tfw need to take coffee shots to stay awake now

Fuck

it's 10pm and i'm still sipping on some

I drink green tea and I suck at programming

no bad anxiety

Silicon Valley use $oy instead.

Used to give me a mad motivation boost but now I need it to stay at baseline and I can't afford the weeks of productivity hit to ween myself off it

Fellas I've been taking Modafinil and all I can say is HOLY SHIT this stuff is great.

>Intense focus for hours
>Super long duration
>No side effects for me
>I have like 120+ tablets since I'm super impulsive
>Only have to take half a tab to get 8+ hours of insane productivity
>Not tired
>Practically impossible to become addicted to
>Practically impossible to OD on

I just gotta watch out for becoming dependent on

I banged out 3.5k words in like an hour I swear to god.

TAKE THE MODAFINIL PILL, FUCK COFFEE

Attached: 1412913115108.jpg (527x671, 83K)

Coffee helps, in my case, my sysadmin stockings take me to the next level :3

I see so many fags raving about modafinil. is it that great?

you in undergrad? Fuck I remember when I started taking moda in undergrad, its a fucking slippery slope my friend. I only take 1/4 a pill usually, 1/2 if I'm feeling it and after years of taking it shit you wake up every morning thinking I gotta take that moda to be as productive as possible today.

I tried it, no focus effects for me. I upped the dose half a pill each time until I got an anxiety attack at 2 pills. No other effects for me but YMMV.

Actually I just graduated. I'm a writefag with ADHD. I normally take my adderall as per normal, but I got curious about moda and tried it. I only take half a pill though.

I'm kinda glad when I don't have to take a stimulant. Feels nice but also not noice.

Yeah, i've heard it can have varying effects on people. Gave some to my buddy and he's FLYING on productivity

Personally? Yes. I think it's awesome. I see why it's a scheduled drug though

Me here
If you have actual ADHD I'm sure it does good for you, but I never had ADHD and was looking for the edge, IMO it gives you a false sense of productivity for things you don't like doing. Whereas if you actually sat down and did the shit you needed to do without moda, you would be just as productive but the moda gives you a false sense of "goddamn im feeling the moda time to get shit done". Which if thats what you need to push through some stuff then ok, but theres way healthier/better options than feeling like you need moda every day to plow through shit. Also ADHD doesn't exist lmao you fucking lazy fuck

>for things you don't like doing
The problem is I like to write, but I just get so massively impulsive

> but theres way healthier/better options than feeling like you need moda every day to plow through shit.
I don't though. I've had 120 pills for a few days and only just started taking them. I'm excited to not take any tomorrow

>Also ADHD doesn't exist lmao you fucking lazy fuck
Nigger suck my dick. I graduated with my BS WITH ADHD. Consult some studies before you make yourself look more retarded:

sciencedaily.com/releases/2017/02/170216105919.htm

>Largest imaging study of ADHD to date identifies differences in five regions of the brain, with greatest differences seen in children rather than adults.

Pro tip; I used to down flat whites like a pornstar guzzles cum.

Milk is full of sugar. Swap to a tall black / Americano. I lost a few kilos just by doing this.

My favorite energy drinks have electrolytes and bcaas

op, I refuse to work without weed provided by my employer

I can code just fine without coffee. The problem is when I have to write in sentences. Fuck that shit I could have never been a journalist.

Good sleep is much better than coffee. Coffee is for those mornings where you didn't get any sleep but need to get shit done, or kegger week.

It honestly really does and it's bothering me

yes the ex Google tech lead said he is suspicious of potential employees who do not drink coffee while programming so I started drinking it with lotsa cream and lotsa sugar

>smoking
Vaping is the future, old man

No, I only drink coffee when i'm seriously tired but still have to be awake for a couple hours, I only drank coffee once this year, I don't depend on it on it like a miserable junkie.

Monster Ultra is the tastiest energy drink by far desu

This is the peak performance coffe/milk ratio. You may not like it, but fuck you.

35% milk
65% coffee

Coffee with a shot of whisky does the trick for me.

drinking alcohol at work is illegal

>not having a dedicated beer fridge at work

Only early in the morning. As it gets later alcohol is better.

coffee? yes.
what amerimutts calls coffee? no, kys.
coffee is espresso, without sugar, any other kind of "coffee" make you a sissy fag.

>>not having a dedicated beer fridge at work
Not the other guy, but we get bitched on even if we drink a beer during lunch (outside of the office), the dev company below has crates of craft beer delivered every friday.

patrician taste

Tea >>>>>> Coffee

>Does coffee really help you code?
Coffee helps me not blow my brains out every morning so, indirectly, yes coffee helps me code

>>I've slipped on the sapphire ring that I've channelled over 200 hours of positive and productive intent into via meditation, now it's time to get shit done

dude if I need 200 hours for casting your spell I rather just spend 2min making my morning coffe

Attached: 1 _FFpkCWD-KwQmc7oevCRBQ.jpg (1838x1102, 85K)

how hard or expensive is it to get? coffee is cheap as fuck and I enjoy drinking coffee.

> ADHD
> take my adderall as per normal
oh. I'm just a person that isn't good at getting shit done when I don't feel like it. honestly, I think coffee helps just because I like drinking coffee, the caffeine has basically no effect since its the same dose every day. It's like how some people have their stupid vape pens, or some people watch tv while they work

please cite the law you are referencing

no way dude. alcohol in the morning to get the ball rolling and coffee later to keep you awake.

I found quitting coffee improved my ability to focus greatly, quitting also gave me bad headaches for a few days

Over the course of a year you probably spend 200 hours drinking and waiting for coffee

Nitrous is like nitrous for the brain, but you probably think that it's bad for you

itt: brainlets that don't have nitrous tanks at work

I paid around $117 for 120 tablets.
get bitcoin
I waited about a month for my tablets to come in the mail

You didn't hear this from me, but Modafinilxl is a website. 35% discount for using bitcoin

Monster Ultra + Vodka is what I use when I need to get shit done.

Attached: 1539511285849.jpg (640x640, 39K)

For me it's amphetamine.

Attached: 1538901271633.jpg (960x720, 65K)

Coffee is probably cheaper but Modafinil has more pronounced effects

>>energy drinks
>>fit
>howthefuck.jpg
not everyone is a burger
the only key to not be a fat fuck is to eat less

no i drink enegry drink

>anxiety
kys you and all the faggots who made this the buzzword of 21st century
you don't have anxiety, you think you do.(You probably improperly used anxiety referring to the jitter coffee gives you, which is not exactly the same.)
Stop wanking off, stop watching cartoons and do your daily push-ups.Suddenly you don't have "anxiety" and you're not a faggot anymore

No, but it helps with the caffeine addiction

low iq post

I don't code but worked cash register part time
it's completely anecdotal evidence, so take it as you will
coffee-->minor to no loss at all on those days
too much coffee-->big to minor losses, but always losses
no coffee-->big losses
day after using weed--> big losses
ephedrine-->minor surpluss (but I had to take next day off since bootleg meth dehydrates abd malnourishes)
"minor" is everything up to 4 hours worth of pay
"big" is everything from whole day's worth up to 11 hours of pay
I don't work anymore but I love me some turkish joe in the morning and darjeeling tea at noon

>stimulant substances dont't increase anxiety

Attached: 1564268457554.jpg (720x303, 27K)

/thread

I wank off and watch cartoons and i dont have anxiety.
fuck off with your brainlet generalizations, faggot.

I drink coffee, because I do not own a gun unfortunately.
